$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
Lordy, I know it's been awhile since I've played a GTA game, but I cannot seem to complete that first "chase that car!" scene for anything. It's getting annoying to have to fight those two Armenian dudes over and over only to chase after the car and have it get caught on a tree, flip over, fly into the water, watch them take a sudden left while I try to get this boat of a car to turn, etc.

Eh. I think I'm just tired and not accustomed to the controls yet. I missing anything here?

All the other stuff from just dicking around touring the city, listening to the radio (hah, did I hear the Fox News announcer guy) and such has been wonderful.

Hidden packages in GTa 4? I think they have removed them completely. Am I right? Thus far I havent found any.

God, I love the game...killing gangsters as a police mission fucking rocks.

They're in there. They are
pigeons which you have to kill. 200 in all iirc. I've only read about this though. Haven't made it that far myself yet.

Don't want any spoilers, but is it true that if you don't interact with certain characters the "right" way, you won't get missions they tell you about?

Basically, the GS manager tried to sell me a guide this way.

Other than that, I have the game sitting in my car since this morning while I am at work.

I hate real life.

Well, I ordered a 360 + GTAIV on Amazon for $380 shipped. The online community and positive multi-player impressions have swayed my opinion to the 360 version. Should arrive in a couple of days thanks to Amazon Prime... can't wait! I think I'm gonna stop reading this thread. It come with a 1 month Gold trial right?

Man, the wanted levels in this game are screwy. I ran over dozens of cops (Collecting pistol ammo at the start of the game) and only got two stars. Then I arbitrarily pop a patrolman and steal a car, instant 3 and a heli and a bunch of popos are on me like bloodhounds.

Also: The Addicted Level statistic... Is that measuring how addicted I am to the game? If so... That's the best fucking thing ever.

Eh, there's reputation levels. Pretty meaningless, more or less. There's also some decisions you have to make that alter the story/missions available... But you'll have to make em guide or not.

I just completed that mission
on my first try
and thats when I realized that driving wasn't going to be problem for me. My best advice is to break before you make a turn, let off the gas and break as your turning and jam the gas back on as you coming out of the turn.

Any impressions on the Multiplayer?
Yeah, I'm seriously curious how people are finding MP. On both platforms, live an psn. Any positives, negatives for the various platforms, and how's the game modes themselves?

How come the Social Club doesn't even recognize I have the game? I tied my PSN account to it and everything, but I get nada.

There are moral points on certain missions. You have two options. They impact future mission availability.

Also, you make friends. If you keep missing their phone calls and not hanging out with them, they won't be friends with you. They still might offer you work, but you won't be able to use their special "powers" (like they'll meet you fresh ammunition, etc).

I'm not sure they'll even offer you work (many of them have optional "job" strings) if you're mean to them because my Niko Bellic always finds time to play pool or get toasted or watch a guy flop around in a cowboy outfit with his friends, no matter who he's supposed to be gunning down.

Just been playing online with some Gaffers (You know who you are), Cops Vs Robbers was very fun, and Free Play, well, er....Turned into free killing, efforts at co-operating turned sour once people found helicopters, great laugh though, and I will certainly want to play with a few of that lot again, heh.

It was fun while I was in there, but apparently my headset is broken (GRRRR) so it wasn't as good when I couldn't talk to you guys. Damnit.

I had a few laughs, though. Cops and Crooks is going to be fun as shit.

Also in single player, the new wanted system/circle area is the shit. I got three stars pretty earlier in the game and thought I was totally fucked. Well, after running/driving around for about 5 minutes, dipping through allys and hoping fences, I finally got away. So rewarding. Fuck you, Pay-N-Spray. I don't need you anymore. :lol

Man, Is this game really dark for anyone else? I had to turn the brightness a bit.
I just came to post this. Game is way dark. Even with brightness all the way up, it's really dark. Part of it is the graphic style but part of it is that it is damn dark.

Its really temperamental at the minute due to such high loads.

Game is awesome, the car chases are SO much harder now and escaping the police on foot is almost impossible. Somehow I got a shotgun from somewhere and
with my last inch of health in the little jacob mission where you go inside the house I blind fired through the wall which fell to pieces and shot the guy with my 2nd cartridge

There's multiple profiles you can make on the 360. They give you one month Gold.

Also, in Cops 'N Crooks, do you wear Cop uniforms?

You don't need to catch up with the car, just keep it in your sights, don't panic, eventually the car will park up and your be able to attack the driver and complete the mission, when I first played it I was intent on taking the car out but I realised that was the wrong strategy.

Perfectly able to grasp the inherent value of the fishing game.

Yes you do, and the crooks are like mobsters, it's excellent fun too, I'll be online soonish (Doing dinner), any 360 players feel free to add my GT if they want to play later.

I had read a bunch about the game, but one thing I must have missed that totally surprised me...

Destructible enviornments! In the mission with
little jacob in the house
, I was able to take a guy out because a huge chunk of the pillar he was hiding behind got blown away.

Every little detail has been thought of, this game is blowing my mind.

Im' two hours in, loving it. So far, this game has made me realize the reason I could never complete previous GTA games. The realism was what was missing for me. Every little thing in this game has so much more of a 'weighty' feel to it, the characters, the environment, the visceral impact of running someone over in a car, shooting someone, etc. Incredible. So far playing the PS3 version on my 720p TV, I have seen a little pop in, etc., but its really nothing compared to how many things the game does right. I am absolutely blow away so far.

Ikuu

Had his dog run over by Blizzard's CEO
Is it just me, or does running people over do very little no damage? Having to run people over like 3-4 times to kill them.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks. Maybe now I'll stop launching into the water. :lol

y'all should be ashamed
What I really love is how the police are no longer the enemy.

I tried to jack a luxury car, but the driver gets out and hits me. I'm low on health but I see a police car in the distance, so I run up to it. Once I do, the guy who's car I tried to steal hits me, and the police get out and arrest him. Then I stroll back to the luxury car and take off.

I FREAKING LOVE THIS GAME. :lol

I think the red pigeons are now the hidden packages. I shot one at Central Park and it said something about rats, 99 more to find.

Holy fucking fuck. THis means it will be alot harder to find freaking PIGEONS!!!!!

I...I...I gotta turn on the console. cYa!

WOOHOO This game rocks. I had some fun last night with the multiplayer. Its hard to get a party going at first; I screwed up a few times.
I really wish more people knew how to do hangman's noose, but they just shot cops and dont try to escort the guy : (

Is anyone else unable to get a multiplayer game going on PS3 right now. It keeps telling me it can't connect to game provider.

I just have one question:

Does this game still have cheat codes? Specifically, perfect handling, with super hydraulics, that let me play a quasi-platformer in my car.

I have no reason to believe the cheats AREN'T there, but I just want to make sure.

EDIT: Just checked GameFAQs, and I see cheats, but not perfect handling. ):

Best tactic for getting a hold of the Police computer (for Vigilante/Most Wanted missions) by far! Even better when a ped decides he wants to help you out and beat up your assailant as well, you can end up with a mass brawl if you keep running around punching cars.

Yes there is a 1 month Xbox live trial inside each box.

Is there a possibility to ARREST those most wanted bastards or do I HAVE to kill them?

There are some sick bastards with automatic weapons trying to make cheese outta me. I mean...self defense right?

On a sidenote: I already killed everybody on that list...yeah killed!
Id be pissed if there was a bonus for NOT killing those guys.
