If you haven't already watched the series I would say do that first. While the movies do manage to get rid of some unnecessary stuff, I always look at them as more of a refresher for people who have already seen the series. It can be kind of difficult to follow going straight in.

An opinion different from the norm!? This is definitely something to be distressed over you guys!!!!
Well after the previous page I decided to watch Gundam AGE.
10 Episodes in here are my thoughts.
Flit: Worst Gundam lead. Honestly I would take Shinn Asuka over this little twerp.
Emily: The Single WORST character in all of Gundam. Honestly the last thing Gundam needed was even more stereo type Female characters and to add an even heafty amount of Anime (By this I mean the throwing her hands back, whinning and crying over Flit making his own choices and just being annoying on every level to me. Your not his gf/wife yet bitch, stop your crying) on top of her being/acting like a 6 year old makes me really wish a horrible, horrible death on her. No character be it Shinn, Relena, Yazan from ZZ or Links creepy sudden attachment to Audrey equal the horribleness that is Emily to me.
Wolf: Easily the best part of Age. The only decent character so far and his intro for G EXes is better then both AGE-1 Normal and TItus reveals. Hopefully he stays good for a while at least.
Grudek: The only other character that is slightly good. Prefer him over anyone not named Wolf.
Music: Severly overrated. I kept hearing about how amazing AGE music is and frankly I think people are out of their damn minds. It gets crushed by greats like Wing/SEED/Destiny and still isn't even close to the MSG/Z/ZZ period. Hell I've seen 3 EPS of OO and it still shits all over the music from AGE.
Overall - Emily is horrible, worst Gundam Designs, Worst Character Designs, alright music, Enjoy Wolf and it would be better if he was the lead instead of Flit regardless of the whole AGE arcs. Also pacing is garbage but I think that has to do more with the 3 Arc setup.
Oh and the fact that every gets all blushy when the Mechanic gets a kiss on the forhead nearly made my put my foot through the TV. I don't give a shit this is a Gundam aimed at younger viewers, everyone acting shocked embarresed over a kiss to the forehead is fucking stupid.

Every time he some how gets his Gundam drives me up a wall. At least with Domon and Shining/God it made sense and it wasn't trying to be so serious. The amount of times AGE-1 some how just shows up makes me want to kill someone.
Jesus I just got to the Space Magic part of the show.
Amuro, Kamille, Char, Judau, Domon, Heero, Kira, and Shinn. Each one of these characters gets hacks be it NewType/SSJ/Zero System/Seed, but all of them regardless of my like/hatred at least show some legit skill at one point or another and their hacks to take it to the next level.
Flit does not, he can barely keep up and the moment Space Magic hits he turns into a god. The kid can barely keep up and always rants and while I don't like him that was fine for what the show was going for. The second this shit kicked in though I now think it's the worst Gundam series ever. Under no circumstances should any of these hacks be able to take a barely skilled whinner and turn him into Amuro Ray who fucks up entire armys by himself. It's impssible for me to root or care about this character.
It is very much Gohan going Mystic by sitting on his stupid ass for a day and doing nothing to earn his power. Fucking awful.
And one last thing. I don't give a fuck who the design of Spallow is, but buddy Spallow isn't fucking Wing Zero, it isn't Nu/Hi-Nu nor is it Freedom/Strike Freedom. Stop having that damn suit pull Angelic poses, it fails and looks dumb as hell and can't pull the look off to save it's life.

Movie was very meh, just felt weird. like I said in the anime thread, end reminded me of The Fountain.Now we know who they made the movie for.

Though as much as im down on alot of it id give the overall series like a 7-8/10.

I've never seen any OO kits that come with Figures. I think I've seen figures of some of the characters sold outside of the Kit's, but nothing in like the Wing 1/100's.
I've watched the first Ep of Age-2. 10 seconds is all it took took to like Aseum more then Flit. Granted I don't know if that will last but nothing Flit does in all of the first 15 Eps had any of the charm or personality that his kid had. Also I don't know if Rosemaria or whatever gets with Asemu but these two had about 20 seconds of screen time so far and they kick the shit out of his mom and dad.

Finished the paint on the MG Rezel, think I'm gonna change gears and pick up the AGE MG Titus. Anyone built the Titus yet? This will be my first MG Age kit (I built the SD titus), I don't know much about it so any feedback would be welcome.

Looks great Jube! Waterslides is all you need, but the paint looks nice and smooth.
You should check out SEED at the very least. It has some really amazing music and while I don't care for the character the battles can be really fun and personally I've grown to like the designs so long as ignore the backpacks. Freedom and Justice are sweet final suits, not my favorites but not bad either. Lastly I would say Lacus is the only good AU female character.
Watched some more AGE-2, and I can't say I'm a fan of Asemu however I will still say that he is about a million times better then Flit. Woolf continues to be awesome and I actually really like Zeheart. The relationship between Zeheart and Asemu is far more engaging then anything Flit had going and about a dozen times more bareable then the whole Flit/Emily/Yurnin nonense.

Haha I apologize. Shouldn't have ranted like that. Honestly though I'm so weird when it comes to Gundam (Disliking Zeta, OO and liking ZZ and Kira section of SEED Destiny) that I half expected to find myself enjoying AGE.

Watched some more AGE this weekend. I think I'm up to 37 or so. The Asemu arc gave me a glimmer of hope for this series. Kio arc on the other hand...ughhh.

You should still watch SEED. Destiny was a huge disappointment to me but I'm still able to keep my feelings separate between the two.
As far as AGE goes...lol Hino. Since I've watched it this far I might as well finish it but it has been mediocre at best. Really don't like the art at all either. Grodek and Woolf were the best parts of the series, but that feels like it was sooooo long ago.
Woolf really is great.
It saddens me that Hino had three different fucking leads and he couldn't equal one side character with any of them. How the hell did he pull that off?

Aside from DTL, I don't think anyone here genuinely likes AGE here at all. The moment you think it might just crawl out of anime mediocrity, it shits it out even more. I'm only watching it because it's Gundam, and it hurts. xD

I was more talking about specific gripes. Been to a few sites and while it seems I like many others dislike AGE the things I dislike (aside from Woolf) seem to be at odds and typically the things most people seem to really despise about the show.
All this comes before me watching AGE-3. I've decided to wait till the show finishes before I move onto it. Frankly AGE-3 despite having my favorite of the AGE units outside of G Bouncer looks like the worst thing to ever carry the name Gundam.

Totally agreed with you on taking even Shinn over any of AGE's leads. I really hope that Hino/Level-5 are never allowed anywhere near Gundam ever again.
Sadly I had hopes for Asemu. I was warned but still the fact he has more charm then Flit gave me hope.
Didn't pan out, but I did get a single Flit moment, and while have only one moment is awful and the writer should be ashamed at least I got the one so that is better then nothing I guess.
Worse then terrible.
As last I saw them they are tracking below X which was the worst overall rated series until now.
I can't imagine that it has suddenly picked up when people have the olympics and stuff the last two weeks.

Thing is I doubt it. AGE while doing terribly is still comming off SEED/Destiny/OO which all did very well. Not to mention it's running at the same time as Unicorn which is doing amazing.
We already know Origin is coming in some form and it's not like X and Turn A which both performed terribly before SEED.

For your first point, that is probably the unfortunate result. At least there's still Unicorn and Origin (whenever that happens).
The Zeta movies I'm kinda meh on...really didn't care for how much the new footage clashed with the old footage. I definitely would not recommend them being anyone's first exposure to Zeta.
Hibernation? Wut? Turn-A to SEED was just 2 years. SEED Destiny to Gundam 00 was also 2 years. Gundam 00 S2 to AGE is also 2 years. I expect that the next Gundam TV series will probably air in 2014. It won't be hibernation, just the normal cycle of development for the next series.

I'm really interested to see what direction Gundam takes after AGE. Will it be more Earth-based and geographically-diverse like 00? Will it focus more on space? Will it be tongue-in-cheek, serious, etc.
So long as it avoids Wing, OO, and SEED I don't care.
As it is, the worst thing that could happen would be them doing something easily enough for me to guess or predict.
I hope it's a unique take on something and that the art style avoid Wing/SEED/OO and I will give it a shot.

Given the amout of Spin off Manga's, MSV's the movie and all kinds of other stuff that has come out for OO it is in no way at all hurting for the amount of content. Last thing we need is a follow up so closely to OO even less so when several AC and even era's have much less to go overall and hasn't had alot of content in several years.

Either this, or a gundam show more like G or just fuck it and make a sequel to G or a prequel starring Master Asia when he was younger (G Gundam 7th Fight).
