I don't remember there being very many. There was the one about Howard buying a stripper a car many years ago, but for the most part, I think people have kept very quiet about him.

Now that things are winding down and he isn't directly responsible for making/breaking careers, it seems like people are talking. It's going to get real interesting as the years go on.

Yep, a lot more now. The stories get clicks, it really is as simple as that. A lot of fans are pissed at the direction the show has taken, they love this stuff.

I don't want to fuel a false rumor, but I just called Sirius to cancel my account (I was being serious b/c HS hasn't announced a renewal) and they told me that HS has in fact resigned. I told the representative that I follow the show closely and haven't heard that. She reiterated that he has renewed. They got me for another year at $99.

He still has two weeks worth of shows and you know if he has anything to announce he will announce it at the last minute to drive all us fans crazy. I'll believe when it comes from his mouth not some representative. They'll say anything to keep you from canceling.

I'm starting to think Howard isn't going to re-sign BUT is going somewhere else or doing something else (podcast?). The only difference between now and the end of KROCK is that Sirius was smart enough to see it coming and made sure they put something in his contract where he's not allowed to promote other broadcast interests. I figure if he was re-signing or retiring he'd have said something by now. The one thing I'm 100% sure of is he's not done because he'd have been shouting that from the mountaintops and having a big blowout bash to celebrate his career.

I'm expecting another 3-5 year contract with less shows and another pay cut that he will spin as not being a pay cut because he's doing less shows.

I think he's done. The birthday bash was his blowout to celebrate his career without telling people. He has something else going on. Didn't a weird ass caller sneak by the screening and go "Isn't Craig Ferguson your favorite actor?" or something to that effect and he pretended not to know what he was talking about? A raunch(ier) Late Late Show could be interesting to him? It also wouldn't compete with Jimmy.

Keep in mind when he announced he would do AGT he led up to it with a shit ton of talk about talent show analysis. He has been doing an obnoxious amount of talking about late night shows as of late.

Yeah that's easily a 12-hour per day type job. Howard doesn't even do 12 hours in a week at this point. There is no way he's going to work 20 times harder for the same pay.

I guess I agree with the stuff Artie said in the article. Shit changes, people change. I guess it can't be a surprise that Howard changes. Of course, then the audience will change and I won't be in it.

I was thinking the other day when I loaded some of Complete Eric the Midget onto my phone that I have enough best of stuff to last me the rest of my life. And non-Stern stuff like podcasts have filled a lot of my listening time.

Still, It does make me a little sad, remembering how hard I laughed at shit like Gilbert and the holocaust lady, jackie puppet and Conan, or Scott's push-ups saga. I don't think I will ever laugh that hard again.

I actually enjoy most of the interviews these days. I think they are very good.

But, the shit surrounding them has gotten pretty terrible. The show just used to be so fun. Gone are the days of having a random game show, having Richard and Sal come in for some hijinx, hearing about office drama and bringing it onto the airwaves, ect.

It really has become a show with great interviews while the gaps between them are filled with the most mundane discussions.
