EDIT: Now that I think about it thats quite odd cause I was just listening to the 5/18 show and Howard was asking Langford if his time at Howard 100 was the longest he was ever at a single job.

Langford was stopped from doing a story Howard thought would ruin a staff persons life. It is rumored that he wanted to do a story on Sal cheating on his wife. Also there is an Artie addiction saga on the net the has every incident of his addiction on the show. It's really long and amazing listen but there is no way you can walk away and not think Howard knew.

I tend to believe it. Langford always seemed like a prick to me. That Super 8 leak is crazy. I totally missed hearing about that.

Wow, after he made such a huge deal about how that'd never happen with a screener copy they sent to him. Honestly, to me this is one of the most fascinating things about the HS show and what keeps me listening, just seeing the constant 180's and going back on his word he does.

It's hilarious, you can tell its an amateur hour scene group that released it, they usually take good care about protecting their sources by blurring serials or watermarks. Whoever did this didnt bother and is going to get destroyed!

i think it's more likely one of the young punks though, or Ralph - who is my prime suspect. It would be really interesting if it turned out to be Ralph given his long association with Howard. Would Howard fire him over this? He seems to have managed to stick around through many previous embarrassing incidents.

This is pretty goddamn big news in the entertainment world. He'll probably just talk about it in passing though.

It's also hilarious cuz I get all the screeners all the time. The studios just hand that shit out like candy.

i'm hoping it was gary who passed it around to his friends and somebody copied it and uploaded it. gary is getting way to uppity lately and needs to be reminded that he is bababooey.

I'm praying its Ralph. That guy needs his come uppance. Plus anyone other than him thats responsible for this might seriously get fired and I'd hate to see that happen.

How do we know that it's not sabotage? He has been complaining that he never gets screeners and joked that, "What do they think I'm going to do, pirate it?" This may be someone or some group having some fun at his expense. Or a disgruntled employee.

the site posted said the studio confirmed that stern got a screener so its not some group just fucking with stern. its still howards fault the screener got out since he is supposed to get rid of the screeners once he has seen them. he has even said he gets rid of them but then at other times says he lends people screeners. i really want to see how howard will spin this.

Howard's probably fuming at whoever did it but won't discuss it on the air because he doesn't wanna throw the guy under the bus. You can tell he loved getting the screeners.

I don't think it was Ralph even though he is a douche, I think he is competent enough to know how to avoid it getting out if he made a copy. My guess it was one of Garys kids. Probably saved it on there computer and was copied because he was on some sort of file sharing program on his computer.

Howard said he's embarrassed, it is his copy, but it didn't leak from his show. They used the same protocol as always. It goes straight from Gary to him, and then back to Gary.

Gary said he's pretty serious about keeping that stuff locked down, same as Howard. Only two people at the show handle it, Gary and Tracy (sometimes it's up to Tracy to hold it for Gary or something). He said the studio is doing an internal investigation.

Edit: He didn't really say don't send me movies, he was just saying if they stop it won't end his world lol. He said he doesn't need this shit basically.

Super 8 Bootleg Linked To Howard Stern Show. 08/08/11. 6:15am
Howard said he had a lot to yell and scream about. He said there's an article going around about this movie that has been released with his name on the copy. He said that the movie ''Super 8'' with the watermark Howard Stern on it is on the internet. He said he was contacted by Paramount Pictures about it and he's already talked to them about that. Howard said he likes to get screeners and he always wondered why he didn't get them. He said he has friends who are in show business who don't promote this stuff who get these movies. He said the studios must trust these people. He wondered why they didn't trust him. Howard said he would never risk his career to bootleg a movie.

Howard read this article about how this bootleg is making the rounds and it's watermarked with ''H. Stern'' in the right corner. Howard said they routinely do this to prevent bootlegging.

Howard said this goes on and on and on. He said that he told the studio that he does get these movies and it's very annoying to see his name on them. Howard said it's embarrassing to him because it's like the studios are going to think that he's doing this. Howard said when he gets the screeners they come into the office and either Tracy or Gary hands it to him and he takes it and brings it right back to work. He said he would like to put it through a shredder. They ask for it back. That's where the problem is. Howard said he shakes because he doesn't know what happens to it when they get it back. Howard said he gives them to Gary and Gary sends them right back.

Gary said he got on the phone with the people at Paramount and went through the process. Gary said they send an intern or someone who works there to come and get the DVD. He said they put it right into Howard's bag when they get it and then they give it back to them. Gary said that Howard takes it home, watches it, then they come back and take the DVD back. Gary said they asked him a bunch of questions about where Howard takes it. Howard said he watches it, puts it in his bag and takes it home. Howard said no one else sees the movie. He said he takes it right back to them. Robin said they're saying that it must be someone around him. Gary said it could have been copied before Howard even got it.

Howard said they probably targeted him. He said that they put the watermark on the movie and they could have made the copy then. Howard said no one who even works for him would do this. It's only Gary and Tracey who touch it. Robin said it's going through too many hands as it is. Howard said he would like to destroy the DVD because he's not going to keep it.

Howard said they're doing an internal investigation but he's sure that he won't get anymore screeners. He said it's not the end of his world but it is upsetting to him. He said that he's a big anti-piracy guy and he doesn't like piracy. He said his show is pirated and he doesn't like that.

Howard said he understands their dismay over the whole thing. He said he can't do anything about it. Howard said there are shit heads who get copies without their names on it too. Howard said he would rather not get screeners if this is what he has to put up with. Howard said he hasn't even seen Cowboys & Aliens yet. Howard said he doesn't leave the house for more than 10 hours at a clip anymore. He's busy with his photography right now. Howard said he's on fire with that.

I'm positive that's probally exactly what happened. Baba Booey loves that fucking theater of his and bragged about having a screening of Slumdog Millionaire for his neighbors when it was still in theaters. I bet that monkey brought it home to watch on the big screen and either the kids or a neighbor got their hands on it.

somebody on sfn said one time a screener was leaked with regis and kelly on it. don't know if that is true.

This is the greatest show on Earth. It was created by man it can be solved by man. And how about The Shit Show?

I've been watching a bunch of old Stern shows from the E days. Its funny how much times have changed since the mid 90s. This one argument is caused because video taped episodes of the Larry Sanders show went to Ralph before Howard. Its hard to imagine life without a dvr. The worst part is I remember this all like it was yesterday. Can't believe its been 16 years.

Watching "Gary and Mary's Wedding" from 1992. Its shocking how much taller Mary is than Gary. I'm assuming Gary is about 5'8" and if that's true Mary must be about 6 feet. She is pretty cute though.

@gdt - thanks for the response. I was hoping to get the books for the Kindle but no such luck. And it looks like Amazon doesn't sell them directly anymore. Gonna have to go through a second hand seller I guess.

And I just found a pristine copy of Miss America for $2 at a local used book store. Now I have all the books except for Robin's. Fuck her.

I just have Gary's (good) and Artie's (meh) so far. I don't think I'd want Robin's either. I bet its mostly made up bullshit. Probably the only good part about it is you get a glimpse inside the brain of an insane person. She has gotten much better since then though.

They play a clip the other day from it where she was talking about buying porno mags and getting under the covers for some alone time. Good stuff.

Damn Howard has really lost his fire. He just played the clip of Sal saying that he and Richard are working on prank call ideas for a cd when Howard retires and Howard lets him off the hook instantly and laughs it off. 1990s Howard would've eviscerated him for that.
