no working images for me, does it look like the wii version? :(

Gameloft's december youtube video showed off a tiny portion of GT racing so while watching it over my touch I took some screens, blurry youtube didn't help but it lets you see what it will look like on the device.

Got a 14 hour flight to Japan next week, and I'm thinking about leaving the DS at home and relying on the iPhone. Any story driven games on the platform yet that can take me through the flight, or should I just get the new Zelda and be happy?

Hybrid Eternal Whisper is a story heavy game, I would call it an RPG but it's more like an action side scroller for the action and cut scenes for the rest, you still get an overworld but it's not one you run around and get into fights. I love the game though.

get the new Zelda.

I'm assuming you have some kind of battery backup or an in-flight power adapter? If its a long-long haul flight like that its always good to have a couple of devices to switch between just in case.

I think 14 hours of iphone game snacks would be too much for me.

so what are the must have games right now ?

Is there something spectacular like space invaders or edge or something like this?

Are there any great shoot em ups (think ikaruga :O ) ??

cheers

I got mass effect galaxy a few days ago and the framerate is fucking horrible even on a 3gs. Should have read some reviews before buying it.

Um...check your phone. The frame rate only dips on occasion...rare occasion. During shootouts and explosions or loading something else up.

Also, There's an update for Auditorium that does nothing else but update EA's recent games listed in the app. It's bugging me because it won't go away after I've updated it, and it took deleting the game, re-downloading it, and re-"purchasing" my DLC for the extra Movements to show back up in the level select menu. And that erased my history of completing the first five acts, but that's no problem, I'll slide right back through those in an hour.

There've been a few apps recently that seem to do this. Last night Auditorium, Cobra Command and Defender Chronicles were doing this. Earlier this week, Let's Golf, Minigore, WolfRPG and some others have done it too.

Something in the way it gets updated on the app store I think. Doesn't mess with anything you just have to update later if it does it again (I usually wait until the next day). Because it is already updated, just doesn't register as updated.

The Price is Right is on sale again for 99c (from $4.99) Apparently it is the Wii version, ported in its entirety to the iPhone. I missed the sale last time, so I picked it up.

Everyone must buy it now! Now now now now now!
*cough It's not like it's my game cough*

We also released Where's Waldo 2 days ago and it shot up to #1 in Paid Apps. It's freaky good, I suggest you guys play with it (I didn't work on that one, though. I'm the game show guy around here, heh)

Pac-Man Championship edition is on those levels.

I think Mini Squadron is most excellent also, but you may have missed the 99c sale. I still think it's worth $2.99, however.

Hey guys, a friend of mine has finished his first iPhone game! It's action-puzzle type of game called "Drag Me Home." It's up for 99 cents.

I really like Auditorium but I'm stuck on Amethyst 2:5. I've managed to get all but one filled in various combinations but I've been unable to any better for days. It seems the PC levels don't match up to the iphone levels, also. Anyone know if there's a walkthrough for this one, or can someone talk me through it?

I'm in close contact with most of the Freeverse guys, and I think they're just trying to polish the hell out of it before letting it out the door. I'll see if I can get a more concrete date, though.

Thanks! I'd love that! Much appreciated. :)

Is Life worth it?

I've enjoyed all the EA games I've bought, though I haven't tried Game of Life (never played the game).

If the other games are anything to go by, then it's probably pretty good rendition.

Question (probably no one can help me), Trivial Pursuit updated with DLC question packs. I bought one, and it says I have it, but there's no indication whether the questions have been added or what. It was a movie trivia pack, but I don't seem to see my statistics change in the 'questions seen' page. How do I really know what's going on?

I won a $15 itunes card from the Plushed devs on twitter earlier today. :D (that got submitted btw. can't wait for it.)

Now what to get with the credit....

So what's Red Conquest like? I always had Blue defense/attack on my 'interesting' list, but never got around to getting them (and probably won't now, even though they're at 99c).

angry birds look brilliant, man! sold.

(so does no one here play command and conquer??? never get any feedback about that one.)

sweet jesus guys, buy angry birds. this game's a blast. and so polished. the physics are wonderful, and the grumpy little sounds the birds make are pretty funny. they're pissed man!

Does anyone have any opinions of the competitive Mahjong games on the store? Specifically the Chinese 13 tile style? There's a few, but some of the reviews are less than glowing.

I just bought Angry birds. dammit. Still playing packman and minisquadron.

And I have zelda.

There've been some games I've bought but never really played. Actually quite a few.

Oh well, better than buying a $50 console game that I don't play much.

Blank you in the blank you blanker.

Everytime someone makes a post like this I buy it. I can't resist :(

Holy crap. This game is fantastic!

I bought Melon Golf because everyone raved about it, but I didn't like it that much and deleted it after a handful of goes. This is sort of like that but so much better, because it's physics AND destruction. Also, it's just so damned hilarious.

I like how you can just go to your next shot before even finishing your last. Also better than melon golf is that watching your destruction is wonderfully engaging.

edit: Wow, it's not just mindless fun, there's some strategy to it. Knowing that a certain bird is coming up next, you can use the previous bird as a tracer to guide you. Genius.

double edit: satisfying to launch the blue birds on a high arcing parabola and dive-bomb the target.

triple edit: What the hell, failed the latest level, but as I did I noticed the remaining pig grin at me. OK, this is war.

bought

Now I might buy SMB2 :p. Are the controls better than the first after the patch? A friend had it but it didn't impress me enough. Annoyed me actually.

I managed to play through the first world without wanting to throw my iPhone across the room, so yeah they're better.

god dammit Super Monkey Ball 2 is already on sale for $4.99. I bought it at full price and hardly touched it :(

If it's any consolation, Costanza, I always enjoy the animated gifs you have for your avatar. :D

Thanks for the recommendation of Angry Birds, Rolento. I love little hybrid games like this.

seriously, i haven't laughed as much as i have when playing angry birds as i have with any other game on this thing. it's great fun.

Love it thanks for the recommend guys!

This, minisquadron, and Pacman, all of which I have bought in the last week are three of the best games available I think.

Alright, I've just filled up every page on my phone. Time to remove some stuff -- but I'm finding it difficult to choose because once I pull something off the saves for it will disappear. Any apps out there that back up your game (and other app) saves/configurations?

I hope they add something in the next major firmware/OS update that will effectively make these transparent to the user or able to drop it somewhere on the host OS during backups. Or at least save/modify the app itself on the Host computer.

EDIT: And holy crap Super Monkey Ball 2 much better than I remmber the original being. It's actually fun and playable now.

Sup doods. I know this isn't really gaming related, but can anyone recommend a good RSS reader that hooks up to my Google Reader account?

Too many good games coming out, I can see myself spending £20 before the next bill invoice.

Deleting apps and losing progress is annoying but it seems that those services like Plus+ are slowly starting to allow server side saving, Bounce On just got their latest update with Plus+ support and in the update notes it says about saving on the service now. So handy for a game which takes a good 2+ hours to get far in.
