I pretty much love my iPhone to death.

Maybe not a revolutionary device, but it sure does feel like it.

Ridiculously fun to play with for something that isn't even a handheld game console.

Oh and someone asked for Scrabble impressions:

--Graphics are nice (um, it's a board and tiles but it looks pretty)
--App crashed on me a couple of times after I first installed it but hasn't since
--AI is tough and/or I suck at words.

Worth $10? Depends on how much you like Scrabble. I bought Bejeweled 2 and that was easily worth $10 to me because I love me some Bejeweled.

Come on EA, where's my Monopoly already?

AOL Radio is amazing. I havent listened to the radio in years and after downloading this app it will defiently be ruling most of my listening time. Dedicated Final Fantsay, video game, celtic, and movie soundtrack stations took me by suprise. Awesome.

"BeatMaker" is an F'in awsome program and worth the money for a well writen program with lots of support. If anyone is interested

there are many issues with FW2.0 and applications. Reseting the iphone solves 80% of them, and deleting/reinstalling solves a lot too.

ps. critter crunch.
by resetting to you mean restoring the iPhone to original factory settings then just reinstalling everything? because I seem to be getting too many crashes with some apps

Yeah, I've been a Sirius subscriber since 2004 and those stations (minus the Celtic) are the only ones I've wanted from XM (XM and AOL Radio share some channels). I'm a huge movie and video game soundtrack fan.

Can you imagine tuning in and hearing the soundtrack to Shadow of the Colossus? :D

Pretty much this. Thank you Apple! :D

edit: also it's probably been said a million times but anyone who doesn't have Critter Crunch really should pick it up. It's as addicting as MotionX Poker if not more.

I read on the Macrumors forums that some people believe that some applications aren't quitting properly when you press the home button (e.g. leaving things running in the background after you think you've quit). They suggested force quitting applications by holding down the home button for around 5 seconds. So, I've been doing that a lot. However, I don't know if force quitting has a long-term negative effect.

simple shut it off, then turn it back on (ie reset the device).

Not formatting/resotring the device. Sorry for the confusion.

Super Monkey Ball is SO FUCKING HARD wtffffff
you've gotta learn how to be rrrreeeeeaaaallll gentle with it. it helps to go as slow as you possibly can.

i liked the gamecube version much better, but this uses different parts of the brain i guess.

yeah restarting it seems to get apps running ok again, I am having a problem with installing updates though sometimes it will say like there are 3 updates in the app stores icon then I will try to install them sometimes it works fine sometimes it gets stuck trying to install and sometimes it says to goto itunes to update. Which is weird because I could have sworn a couple of updates worked fine a few days ago just doing it from the iPhone.

I really like VAY, neat little classic RPG to mess around with.

I turned on "original battle sprites" under settings but when I went back to the game I still see the new ones.
Any help?

SMB is indeed hard.
I may pick up Motion X Poker based on all the good impressions.

Also, Pandora Radio is awesome!

Scrabble is definitely worth $10 if you like Scrabble. The wife and I have been playing it a lot... supports hand-off multiplayer. Just very nicely put together.

I can't believe how much I'm considering spending on all these games already, damnit. Galcon, Scrabble, Trism, AquaForest, and De Blob are all potential next buys. I didn't think this phone was going to add even more to its monthly tab this way :lol
:(

Bought "Solitaire Top 3", $3.99 and pretty close to windows solitaire.... really liking it.

I also purchased the Crash Bandicoot Kart game before, graphics are really nice but it has some framerate issues (dips etc). Hopefully it'll get optimized sooner or later.

I bought motionx and critter crunch. motionx is the shit, simple concept, perfect execution. i only have about 150 coins....so damn close to opening up another table. just started aurora feint, didn't know its basically an rpg....and i fucking love it.

iPhone <3

Why can I not find Aurora Feint on the iTunes store? What am I supposed to search for?

Try as I might, I cannot get past level 9. I suck at monkey balling.

I got to level 48 and said fuck this. The levels just get stupidly frustrating. You dont suck its the controls

Costanza said:
did anyone get De Blob? IGN said it was good.

I got it. It works well enough for what it is... Given all the negative Monkey Ball impressions, it's probably a better value at $6 than Monkey Ball at $10. I didn't play it that long before going back to Dizzy Bee though.

There's a whole "is this spyware?" argument going on with Aurora Feint at the moment which is probably why it was taken down?

Apparently the app collect all your contacts details and sends them off to the developers servers.

I can't even find the "original battle sprites" option. Where is it?

Ah, thanks for the info. I looked into it a bit more and found this informative article on it:

http://macenstein.com/default/archives/1523

In short, on the surface it seems like good intentions not fully thought through by the developers. I'll be looking forward to the first update of the app to see if they follow through on their promises.

Hopefully the first update to Aurora Feint optimizes it so it doesn't suck my battery life so badly. Fun game, but it really kills the battery.

After all of the positive talk I bought Motion X poker and yes I agree with the rest of gaf. It is awesome. Best 5 bucks I have spent in a while.

It's a damn shame that all the good channels go away when you move from wifi to 3G/EDGE.

Check out Pandora for all the same music, but with customizable channels and OTA streaming of music.

My iPod Touch (got one for $150, pretty cheap compared to ones on eBay) is going to be here tomorrow! I literally cannot wait. It's all I can think about. :lol

The first thing I will buy will be MotionX Poker. This actually brings up a question I had..

Are there any good Texas Hold 'em games out yet?

There is an official Apple one that has received good reviews.
