Already bought Kroll and is a bit disappointing i'll say. Pretty graphics, repetitive gameplay. You three icons at each side of the screen, while you have two different attacks (light, heavy) and that's it. Boss encounters are QTE. Repetetive enemies as well, not worth it.
 
I've played kroll and it is in fact a little repetitive but considering the time they had to develop it I'm sure digital legends has a lot of ideas to implement on kroll 2 (if there is one, that's it)

Kroll looks bad ass, but is it just ass?
 
Stone of Destiny is down to .99 cents today for today ONLY.

It's normally 9.99 and is a Myst-style adventure game. Or at least looks like it.
Reviews seem good.

That's what I thought after trying most of the "Lite" free demo games. I hoped maybe some paid games were worth it. Oh well.

It's more like a find-the-objects-on-a-screen game.

edit: nvm it shows up in iTunes but not from the phone's app store

I really need to stop impulse buying games. This adds up :(
 
Most iphone games suck. I love the other apps, especially the music creation and instrument apps.

And of course, Facebook.

Best iphone game that feels the most "real" and full featured is Reign of Swords.

many of these I waited until they were on sale for so it's not as much money as it looks like. I do regret buying quite a few of them, though.
 
I just bought Vector Blaster. Its a game similair to Tempest (the arcade game).
The game is decent looking with the real retro look. The best part of the game is the music. I think its an original 8-bit soundtrack which sounds great. The gameplay is fun so far, I've gotten to level 9. Don't know how many levels there are.

Ow and I got Reign of Swords as well, haven't tried it yet. Anyone tried Dragon Bane II yet? Looks really oldschool

Vay is a 30-hour RPG. Pathfinding is somewhat craptacular, but the game is entirely playable.

Which music/instrument apps are good? I've been wanting to try out one of the guitar apps (I'm pretty sure I saw 2 there), but haven't felt like ponying up yet.
 
Block Break Deluxe 2 is now down to 1.99 from 4.99.

I should thank the Mrs for that score. I played the game for a bit before I got bored and stopped playing it (scored about 60ish then).

However, she started playing it and slowly reached just over the 200 barrier. And then started to take the mick...

Of course I had to defend my gaming honor and so started playing it again. And so I managed to reach 594. (she doesn't play the game anymore)

it should be finished at the end of the week and released next week if all goes well all thoses glitches in the videos are already history and intro picture is being currently redrawn
I keep my finger crossed to not have trouble with the appstore guys (I heard they are very picky)
 
Wow, real racing looks great.. but it says he's going 200+ mph and it looks like he's barely out of 1st gear. :lol
 
Bah, I wish the OP had organized all of the most recommended apps in one place for us.. Dozens of pages to skim through just to find some interesting stuff :(

All graphics and scripts are done, we are implementing some some sounds features as I speak, so it should really be finished this week.

On another hand I heard lots of scary rumors about drastic selections and huge waiting time to get an approval from the appstore guy... so it's hard for me to says precisely...

beside I'd like to build a little more hype before we go public, I don't want to be at the bottom end of appstore because nobody heard of the game ... (It would be a shame since it took 6 month nearly 24/24 for 5 pros to get it done!)
 
Anybody else notice if you don't sync a game with your iPhone, it deletes your game save? Not deleting the app from iTunes, but just unchecking the box next to an app so it doesn't sync it with your phone. I was under the impression that every time I backed up my phone that the data from that game or app was inserted into the app package, so they weren't necessarily two separate entities. Then if I were to reinstall it, by putting the app package back on my phone the save is included inside of it. That is really unfortunate, and inexcusable that it doesn't work that way.

I wonder if this is developer error, or platform error. Seems like a platform problem because my Spore and Enigmo saves are both gone. I wanted to free up some space on my phone for an audiobook, and now that I've finished it my progress for both games is gone. It certainly makes me hesitant to buy more games to know that I can't remove them without having to start over.
 
It's not an error at all, that's how it's designed. It even warns you that if you uncheck an app, that app will get deleted from your phone. Since app saves are part of the app, and the way it's setup iTunes has no idea what is the saved data and what is the app, they get deleted too. Backing up your phone is a totally separate process - that backs up the entire thing. If you restored your backup, it would restore your iPhone to the state it was when you backed it up - that would get you your saves back, but you'd lose anything else you did on the phone since then. Unless of course you backed up since then, then your backup wouldn't have the apps no more.
 
I spent $10 on wurdle, Block Breaker Deluxe 2, and iSplume yesterday.

wurdle and BBD2 are freaking awesome, but iSplume is a little basic.

Block Breaker Deluxe 2 is a great, great Breakout clone - probably the best I've ever played. Thanks for the recommendation Costanza. :p
