I actually really enjoy SSHD PSP. Nice little game for my mem stick. I am having fun w Meteor Blitz as well the influence in uncanny.

Been playing DDR S because of this thread and quite enjoying it. Any other music / rhythm games?

Edit - In fact I'd pay silly money for something like Elite Beat Agents on the iPhone.

Finally got a 3gs. Now I'm back up to par with y'all!

Started playing through Dungeon Hunter again. I'm totally in love with this game, it just feels very polished. I love Titan Quest (never got into Diablo unfortunately) and this is a great game like that.

Star Defense plays amazingly well on the 3gs opposed to the 2g, that just chugs along like it does with almost all 3d games..

Check out World of Tunes. It's mechanics are similar to EBA but it's not too enjoyable imo, but I think there's a lite version so judge for yourself. I've always meant to pick up DDR but haven't felt the need yet, I still visit Tap Tap Revenge, Tap Star and Meevo when I crave a music game.

I'm still a-playin' every so often... Though I must say the anagrammers are a little out of control... Bring on the speed tables!

I've spent a LOT of time over the last few weeks playing, and I've actually not had a lot of encounters with anagrammers. Yeah, I'm sure they're still there, and we're still working on implementing countermeasures, but it isn't as rampant (in my anecdotal experience) as it was a few weeks ago...

Any Go players here? I think I've finally decided to go with SmartGo, just not sure which one I should pick up. Fairly certain I won't be buying SmartGo Pro 12.99 one, as I really don't know how to play Go but I really would like to learn. So it's a toss up between the 9x9, and the regular version. 9x9 seems ideal for learning, but I think the normal version has all the same features in addition to having up to a 19x19 sized board (official size).

So difficult to find reviews on these apps comparing them to one another other than on the app-store.

haha, Super KO Boxing looks like great fun, obviously based on nintendo's lovely game, may have to grab it once i'm done with hybrid.

World of Tunes is pretty naff. I regret getting it.

DDR is the best Rhythm game on the iPhone, IMO.

Its funny how much the brain filters out certain threads on gaf that you arent interested in. I got an iPhone this week and this is the first time Ive ever even noticed this thread, let alone thought to read or post in it.

Same thing happened when I started CFW'ing my PSP.

So, I have WordFU & Rolando.... if I could only get 1 more game ever, what would people recommend?

1 game ever? It'd probably have to be tetris for me, although there are much better games on the iPhone. I just love tetris.

Get Word Ace Pro. If you don't want to feed Seppo's kids, then you can just get the non-pro, which is basically the same (no ingame purchasing).

Drop7, Dungeon Hunter, Civ Rev, Peggle, Space Invaders: Infinity Gene, Wolfenstein RPG, Defender Chronicles, The Creeps, GeoDefense, Secret Of Monkey Island: SE, Flight Control, Bookworm, or Spider. One of those should do. :lol

Definitely check out Word Ace, buy Pro if you like it.

Drop7 is a great puzzle game. One of the few games on the iPhone I've played consistently for months. Try the lite version out for that too.

Unify is another great puzzle game, recently released, not sure if there's a lite version as I bought it straight out. So it could be a gamble if you aren't into puzzle games.

Asking a question like you just did is so difficult because it depends on what kind of games you like the most. But if I were to suggest a single game with fairly mass appeal, it would be Peggle. Everyone I know that's plays it falls in love with the game and it's difficult to get my phone back. Which is why I bought it on Mac and Windows too so that they can play on my laptop if I have it with me instead :p.

And oh yeah, snag Topple 2+ while it's free. Not sure if it will be free forever.

Guys, I really think "DownToZero", they call it "Countdown" now, doesn't get enough attention. Someone metioned it earlier but it doesn't get listed very often. It still is my most played iPhone game ever. So addicting! Just try it, it's really cheap too. :)

Yip, I just posted it two posts above you ;)
The developer keeps on updating it too with new skin and stuffs. I found myself playing this even more than my other favorite Drop7. Drop7 is slow pace and make you think slowly, this one is fast pace but still make you think quickly and makes me go panic all the time.

Didn't see it, sorry. :lol I've played it for about two hours straight yesterday. Now I'm in first place on the ranking. :D

Dungeon Hunter is really, really good. Excellent polished Diablo clone with three character classes, randomized loot, and great depth. Awesome value for the cost of the game.

Tks heaps guys. Gonna mine those suggestions. So, the Wolf rpg eh? Tis worthy?

Are there any other good rpg/adventure games?

Zenonia and The Quest. Try demo's before you buy, but the prices are low enough that it's ok to get burnt once in a while.

Theres a cool puzzle game called Chokoblok that doesn't seem to be getting any attention (probably cause there's no lite version). Its only a dollar so I jumped in and I gotta say its pretty cool. Its kinda like one of those little puzzles in a Zelda-like game where you have to flip a rectangular block around but the space is limited which makes it difficult.

There are 35 levels. I'm currently on 16 and some of them had me stumped for a while. By the second or third playthrough you'll probably have all the puzzles memorized but for only a dollar I'd say its worth it.

Hey guys, came in here to pimp Galcon and the sequel, as it was made by college friends of mine, but I see it's already on the GAF radar!
Galcon is the greatest game on the iPhone. Would you mind hooking me up with some contact info for the original devs through PM? I really want to tell them how great that game is.

Why not leave a review in iTunes?

Actually, I published this review many, many months ago.

http://www.thegamereviews.com/articlenav-1126-page-1.html

Still a fantastic game I regularly play, nine months later.

I just got the new game. I might post some in-depth impressions later. As of now, just get it. It's a dollar and will probably go up in price. Every should buy it now.

It's called Galcon Labs. Buy it and play with me.

Cool, had to stop play Galcon Labs to D/L it. ;) Thanks for the post. Edit: Got high score in Arcade mode 782,960 (if the scoreboard is working)

Gameloft needs to port Dungeon Hunter to XBLA and add mutliplayer co-op.

iPhone -> anything ports are terrible. Hero of Sparta on PSP Minis is an example.

Your enthusiasm forced a buck out of my virtual wallet. Purchased and installed.

Has anyone checked out Cocoto Racing Online? It's a 99 cent 3D kart racing game with online play from the guys who did DinoSmash and iBomber. I just got it, I'm looking forward to playing it, especially the online modes.

HELL YEA SEQUEL!

Radio Flare is one of those games that may not be super awesome (I'd give it a 7.5/10) but still have a place on my iPhone and in my gamer heart. I'm very excited to see what they'll do with a sequel. The look in the trailer already has me anxious.

Power Pill - CreativeApplications.net

YouTube Link

Power Pill is currently in development and soon to be released multitouch iPhone game developed by Phil Fish (Polytron) and Alec Holowka (Infinite Ammo). You play a pill, a very powerful pill which needs aid routing through bodies tunnels avoiding touching walls and destroying things in the way. Phil has recently done a presentation at Pecha Kucha night and posted below slides of the presentation. If you are like me, looking at the slides, thinking this is going to be one awesome game. I am very impressed especially considering that the game will also include a level creator. Phil mentions in his presentation (video below) that the actual game is still in development as the first task was to complete the level creator which would allow them to build the game itself. Watch the video for more info and see the wonderful presentation slides Phil put together.

Power Pill could easily be of the few games on the iPhone to really look forward to this year. No word on the release but we hope it will be before the year’s end.

This looks and sounds really cool... Can't wait!

I wish more developers took this approach when developing for the iphone.

That looks cool. I am honestly sick of all these wanna be console games on the iphone.
No kidding. Not a single one that I've played is worth a damn (Gangstar, Silent Hill, Duke Nukem, Mega Man 2). Actually, fuck all games with virtual d-pads and buttons.

And Power Pill looks very cool.

Not all D-Pad games suck, Spy Bot was alright when I got it for a buck. Does EDGE count as a D Pad game? I play it with a D Pad (maybe you'd call it an X PAD?)

I totaly forgot that I own Gangstar, shows how forgettable the game is even if I did have fun for a few days, i'll have to go back to it at some point just to do the story.

I'm down for Galcon action at ANY time. Please send me a message on AIM in you every want to play. My AIM screen name is "Shigeru Miyamoto"

I love Galcon labs. Crash and Billiards is the shit. Stealth is too much for me, I keep getting raped.

Also, is there an OpenFeint thread? I like it more than Plus+. Is there an easy way to add friends without using facebook crap, though?
