Hey guys, Halfbrick has announced that Blast Off will be coming to iPhone!

Blast Off is an arcade-style puzzle game in which the goal is to rescue stranded astronauts and carry them through a warpgate to safety. Gravity from nearby planets will affect your rocket's flight path, and the trick to figuring out the best solutions to these puzzles is using this to your advantage.

Blast Off got plenty of favorable coverage when it was released for the PSP minis service, with IGN calling it "the best PSP mini yet." New features aplenty will be added for the iPhone version, including global leaderboards and a brand new "Endless Mode."

California Gold Rush 2 has been released at $2.99.

I am very confused on what I should do...
I loved the first game... until they patched it, removed my save and added in-app DLC that used to be free before the patch. For which Digital Chocolate should be banned by the pope for.

My girlfriend just bought her iPhone 3GS about 1-2 weeks ago. It is still easily under the AppleCare warranty. She dropped it from a very small height (In the bathroom lol) and the screen cracked.

There is NO evidence of a drop. What are the magic words I should use when talking to Apple to convince them to cover it under warranty? I was going to stress how new it was and that I had no idea what caused the break.

Any idea of what I can say to guarantee that they cover it?

It is so dumb to buy insurance on a product, have it break 2 weeks later and not be covered, then have to pay $199 to fix it and therefore doubling the initial purchase price!!!

A lot of points already covered, but one thing wasn't mentioned. Get your girlfriend to take it in and be honest about it, she probably has a better chance than you of getting it replaced...just cause it'll probably seem that you're lying to them (like why wouldn't the owner of the phone be getting it fixed).

I've heard of them fixing stuff they're not supposed to before so it just depends on the person you get and the store manager I guess. Won't help if you already know you're screwed and just trying to find a way around it. Also try not to be an annoying jackass, your posts are kinda coming off that way, that'll just give them extra incentive to charge you. Spite is a powerful thing.

Exactly the same happened to me. Updated and gave me 2 achievements before crashing to springboard.

on my touch ATM but does this sequel cost money and have dlc in it already? After how they nuked my first game I paid £££ for, deleted my save and tried to sell me in game items which were free and kind of vital... The goldrush dev can fuck off!
 
Bought me some Doom 2 RPG, it's pretty awesome so far, I like it. The weapon models look kinda bad though, but other than that it's a looker in my opinion.

Edit: New Angry Birds levels? hooray :D
 
What the hell. Just updated Angry Birds, and when the Crystal info popped up, a ton of achievements were unlocked in the lower right corner. I proceed with creating a Crystal account, but now it says "0 % complete", and not a single achievement has been unlocked. Help?

I actually tweeted DC about this. will see how they react. Some bad english after countless shortenings to make it fit.

Re:California Gold Rush 2. No.1 was good, until the patch deleted my save & you charged for free stuff. Will you us fuck again?

More people should use Twitter to complain, discuss and give critique to companies who use twitter mostly as a commercial tool.

Found this review of an app Pelagic tones an interesting read.. don't know if I should find it amusing, disturbing or what.

This game is great for my blind girlfriend!

She hunts the tones and I explain whats happening on the screen. A little hard cause she doesnt understand the concept of color. She doesnt care though. We play this for hours while I wait for her meds to kick in. Then it's sweet lovemaking session time! W00T!

Sometimes they appear after restarting the game too, I think.

I've 3-starred world four - onto world 5!
 
after upadting angry birds does NOT work for me at all. I start it - it loads - it charshes … every time :( Stupid update :(
 
I'll definitely get Plants vs Zombies for that price. I kinda wish Square would put out a sequel to Vanguard Storm as well, that game was pretty fantastic.

You just might. IGN has a review saying a number of features, like survival and puzzle modes, were cut from this version. They'll probably show up as DLC.

The game might be a lil intensive for the Iphone, graphically.
 
Has anyone heard what happened to sega's megadrive/genesis collection? they delayed it from first announcement to the beginning of feb but we have yet to see anything about it.

Also sonic's winter olympics is still pulled, it's like a rare now.

Has anyone checked out "Across Age"? It looks like it might be pretty polished, but I don't have the $7 to use on just checking it out.
 
New find for today: a new twist on Match 3 called Get Lucky. Five columns that roll like a slot machine, and you tap to stop them all. Missing matches adds skulls to your board.

Really like the concept. It's a bit feature light (no online leaderboards, only two modes), but it's free, and it runs well.

Ok guys, I'd like some recommendations on a game that's deep and fairly long.

So far I've bought..

Broken Sword (simply sublime)
GTA China Town Wars (haven't played yet)
Ronnie O Sullivan's Snooker (great time killer and party game)
Flick Fishing (just a nice time waster)

Then a load of free one's. But I'm after some more meaty purchasable one's like Broken Sword, or perhaps a FF esque RPG of some sort. Something that will last me a good while (I've already clocked over 10 hours in to Broken Sword). What would you guys recommend?

And is NOVA worth it? What about the best racing game?

NOVA is definitely good, a lot of fun.

If you like Broken Sword, you might like:

Beneath a Steel Sky
Flight of the Amazon Queen
Simon the Sorcerer (1 and 2)

Those should keep you busy! :P
 
Beneath a Steel Sky will likely be my next purchase. But I just bought "Zenonia" based on the screens and user reviews which seemed very positive. This and GTA China Town Wars should keep me busy for the time being. Must say, Apple are making a killing off of me lol.

But I refuse to jailbreak as it's important we support these developers. Thinking of making an app of my own sometime soon.
