If you start the track before loading the game, it should work fine (I just tried it and it worked on mine).

Let me know if it doesn't, and your iPhone type.
Yeah, seems to work that way. I vastly prefer FKF to FKFG, though. FKF is gonna destroy my battery life so much.

I just wish someone made a full-blown footie game like the ones I played online (can't remember where, though) where you're left standing from time to time and have to make the correct pass to get further up the pitch. That would be awesome.

Not that I know of. Using Gamespot's list of iphone games sorted by user ranking is fairly useful: http://www.gamespot.com/iphone/games.html?sort=user_rating&tag=subnav;rating

thank you Valis and mcBacon :)

I also found a couple of others, one being
http://www.igamestats.com/best-games/iphone/
where every game listed has at least three reviews on various sites for its ranking,
along with link to each review, plus its appstore rankings.

also slide to play is nice, with lots of categories (useful if you wanna search for good games in a specific category, ex sports or strategy)
http://www.slidetoplay.com/games?sort=score&per_page=10

p.s. shouldn't there an iphone app exist just for pulling reviews and making rankings?
like a metacritic iphone app...

You don't seem to be completely happy with the game...

Ha ha genius!
Looks great too

Did about a dozen games on PES last night and I must say I'm impressed. Having played Gameloft's football games and finding them to be pretty awful I had my doubts that PES could work on a touch screen but the controls work really well. I've settled on using the 1-touch method, using a stick to move then different type of taps for kicking. Tap once to pass, twice for a through ball, hold for long balls and crosses. These automatically turn into shots when you're aiming at goal. Tap once to slide tackle or hold your finger on the screen for a standing one. Penalties work quite well too, you simply draw a line from your player to where you want the ball to go with the speed of your finger determining the power. Its all very responsive too, I've managed some really slick one touch passing moves and first time shots.

Not cheap at £5.99 (well not cheap for an iPhone game, compared to any DS/PSP PES this is a steal) but it delivers a quality product with plenty to do. Not only are there leagues and cup competitions there's also Champions League and Europa League in here too. Oh, and Liverpool are licenced too which made me extra happy as I didn't think any English teams were :D

It's just me, a friendly walrus, making a post letting people know about the update that went live for one of my games, Straight Aces Free: Poker Evolved. If you haven't heard about it, Straight Aces is pretty much my attempt to merge classic puzzle match gameplay (ie. bejeweled) and Poker. It's a little cerebral, but it doesn't take a poker fan to enjoy.

As always, we appreciate any feedback, and iTunes reviews, you care to bestow upon us. We're still looking to take the title further. Our next update should becoming soon, and with it comes 'freeplay' or at least our take on it. Once Openfeint 2.5 hits we're looking to include an online multi-player mode as well.

Woo, I've been playing Hook Champ a lot this week on my Pad, never really did on my phone so this is cool.

Super QuickHook was approved. Buy it on Thursday, June 17th! Tell everyone; the first day of sale is the most important day!

I've been playing it again and being amazed. I bought the hookbot when it came out and the other night I used it to cheat my way into unlocking the last set of skulls. I can't get past the first level on the final tier, but it is fucking awesome.

Shmup fans!!!! Pick up Super Laser. Most polished shooter on the platform IMO.

I doubt it's the most polished shooter on the app store, but I will definitely check it out. Love me some shmups :D

So uh, Apple's letting people start preordering the iPhone 4 sometime tonight and it's probably going to be pretty fucking confusing with people wondering what's going on with upgrades and such. Guess we can talk about it here since the OT is closed.

Engadget explains things pretty well, but there's a bunch of conflicting information going around like a rumor that White phones won't be available at launch, so who knows.
How to: pre-order the iPhone 4 (update: third-party retailers best avoided) said:
The most painless way (most likely) will be to pre-order online from the comfort of your home at Apple's site, because you'll be guaranteed delivery on launch day without any hassles of dealing with lines, riots, or uninformed sales clerks. The big question is when exactly the pre-orders will go live, and at this point, no one knows for sure. In all likelihood, it'll happen after the typical "we'll be back soon" outage, but it's unclear whether that'll happen around midnight or tomorrow morning during business hours. Our advice is to hold out until after midnight Eastern tonight, but if you're not at least greeted with "we'll be back soon," hit the sack and get up early. For comparison, iPad pre-orders kicked off at 5:30AM Pacific Time, so we wouldn't be surprised to see the iPhone 4 do the same. You can go into a physical Apple Store if you really want to, but we're being told that you'll just be directed to a computer to go through Apple's website anyway, so there's really no point.

You'll also be able to pre-order in AT&T stores tomorrow, but as far as we can tell, this is going to be a pretty unsavory option -- you'll be required to have your credit card authorized for the full amount upfront, and according to the locations we contacted, you won't even be guaranteed availability on launch day; instead, you'll need to wait until the 25th for some bizarre reason. AT&T's website seems to be a better option, with June 24 delivery available to both consumer and business customers. The carrier won't disclose to us what time pre-orders will start, so keep an eye out.

Major third-party retailers will be getting in on the action, too:

* RadioShack will be accepting pre-orders in stores for a $50 deposit, which will come off the price of the phone when you pick it up; they're throwing in an accessory credit, too (basically the same setup as the EVO 4G launch). Stores will be opening at their normal times tomorrow, but some locations will be opening early on launch day.
* Best Buy is the same deal, basically -- $50 deposit taken in-store at the regular opening time, with most locations opening early on launch day.
* Walmart seems to be pretty clueless about the situation; though they're confirmed for a June 24 launch, we weren't able to find any sales clerks at any of the locations we contacted that knew how, or if, pre-orders would be taken tomorrow (two didn't even know there was a new iPhone, and instead insisted we were referring to the $97 deal on the 3GS). Bottom line: only get in touch with these guys tomorrow as an absolute last resort.

So, what's everyone's game plan?

Update: It seems there's been a last-minute change in plans at some RadioShacks -- pre-orders will no longer require a $50 deposit, and some locations will be opening early in the morning. Our advice? Check with your local store right now.

Update 2: We've been tipped that Apple may now be blocking third-party retailers from taking pre-orders altogether tomorrow. RadioShack already changed its story on us, and now Best Buy locations have started doing the same, telling us that they definitely won't be taking pre-orders tomorrow but may be by the end of the week. Bottom line -- hit up Apple's website in the morning.

Update 3: Some folks are being told that pre-orders are still on for tomorrow at Best Buy; that doesn't seem to be the case at the three stores we've called, so your mileage may vary. If we had to guess, this is just a case of extraordinarily poor employee communication. We'd still avoid hitting up a third-party retailer for the pre-order if possible -- it just seems to be too chaotic at the moment.

Oh okay. Thanks.

And what am I in for on the 24th when I pick it up? Should I take the morning off to pick it up or what?
I'm just gonna do the free release date shipping to my house. Not dealing with those fucking lines again.

White iPhone better be available from Apple tomorrow... if not I might just cave in and buy black depending on the white delay

So are we gonna be able to pre-order at Apple.com and pick it up in-store or would you have to have it shipped to your house?

I basically wanna pre-order and pick it up at Apple retail store on launch day like I did with the iPad. I assume it'll be the same thing but that Engadget article doesn't say.

We should be able to. That's what i want to do as well.

Both options, apparently.. just looked at Apple.com

I'm probably gonna get the White if they let me. Dunno yet.

I don't mind getting the phone delivered as long as it's sometime on launch day.

Rather do that than wait in line anywhere.

I don't think it'll show dirt. And yes, because of the glass.
The only thing that worries me is discoloration.

Black just looked bland to me all of the sudden.
White is happier or something...?

I've been having problems with backgrounder. Every time I try to activate backgrounding with a 'short hold' through activator it just takes me to the backgrounder settings app instead of actually activating backgrounding. I'm also using circuitous as my multitasking app, but I also like using the original backgrounding activation and would like it back! Does anyone have any suggestions?

edit: wrong thread

All I know is.... Choosing what color iPhone = Serious Business

But like, the little space in between the home button and the class, I can see dirt getting wedged in there, and along the sides :(
I think you're being paranoid, but whatevs. Personally, I'm getting black because that's how I roll.

Anybody play with Google Earth on iPad yet?

Black for me, I learnt a valuable lesson when I got my PSP white. I already had the black so I could compare them side by side, and the black one looked noticeably smaller than the white one purely because black is slimming. Also when the screen is off you have a white device with a black screen which looks wrong.

I decided to go black.

I overall like the white better. It's happier.
But yeah, what Fusebox said. And theres that black border around the display so it doesn't completely blend or whatever.

Well at least my mind is made up. Maybe I'll regret it. Maybe I won't.

Nice!!

So to have it shipped to my house I choose "Order Through Apple Online Store"?
Also is there any way I can change the Account Name from me to my business?
