Beavertown said:Anyone know how the game handles the expert campaign achievements? Does it remember each chapter you finish, or do you have to do it all in one shot?
Zzoram said:You have to finish a full campaign (eg. No Mercy) in 1 go (you started from the beginning, you didn't leave the game). You can die and stuff, and respawn, that's fine. You just have to stay in the game from it's start until finish, no matter how long that takes, to get credit for beating each campaign.
You can do the campaigns separately, but you have to do all the chapters of each campaign in 1 sitting.

i was informed that i did not meet the recommended requirements, yet i played the demo on maxed out settings just fine
yougamers.com is a bit more balanced
Volcynika said:Wish that worked for me on Dead Air! I was there the whole time. But hey, it's fun to do it again anyways~!
It'll run fine at 1024x768@4xAA. Pick up a CRT from Goodwill and you won't even notice the difference.Baha said:I need advice quick. According to System Requirements Lab I can only run Left 4 Dead on minimum settings. I have a Nvidia 6600GT, an AMD 3200 (2.02GHz 64-bit cpu), 2GB of RAM and enough hdd space. Is it worth playing on minimum requirements (decent fps, etc) or should I wait till I upgrade my computer next year?
Zzoram said:If you disconnect and rejoin, or go IDLE, I think that makes it not count. Counting IDLE would be cheap, since you could let the AI beat it for you.
Volcynika said:I was there the whole time, no errors or anything. I got Tankbusters earlier, which was really screwy, since he DID damage a survivor some.

I shall give it a big, wet, sloppy kiss. Smoochie.

That kinda sucks. The intro video is awesome.Volcynika said:Nope.

Me too but I kind of wish they all had their own intro video!fallout said:I love how the campaigns are independent of each other. Works great for a join-and-drop co-op game.
Except if you want those stupid achievements... like me.fallout said:I love how the campaigns are independent of each other. Works great for a join-and-drop co-op game.
On Advanced, the hunting rifle seems to dish out instant kills most of the time. Certain parts of the body (feet and hands maybe) aren't 1-shottable.ElyrionX said:Just to confirm, the sniper/hunting rifle is not one-shot-one-kill (apart from headshots) right?
I really wish they would include a bolt-action one-shot-one-kill rifle. The bolt-action nature of the rifle would balance it out since you can't fire it as fast.

I heard in this thread that L4D had Lich King-length lines at someone's Gamestop. I went to Circuit City to buy the PC version on sale but they sold out in less than one day. Best Buy's website has it backordered.Zzoram said:I don't know. There are a lot of cheap fuckers on the PC side. I have a friend who totally loves it but is still a "maybe" for buying it, because he thinks it's a lot of money.
I just hope that the really high Xbox Live demo numbers mean a good deal of people will buy the game. The end bulletpoints were a bit misleading. There are no new weapons, and only 18.5 new levels in the full game.

Just came from an expert game where i spend most of the first level of death toll getting friendly fire from my teammates every other shot seemingly accidentally although im leading the pack while crouching. Enjoying the game for what it is, I decide to stick it out even though its obvious my teammates are idiots. I get snagged by a smoker and my idiot teammates don't seem to be able to hit his fucking tongue so i can help them take down a few straggling zombies they are struggling with for some reason. After dealing with even more friendly fire, i have about 50 health while the two remaining of my teammates have about 10 or less TEMPORARY health, and we are near enough to the safehouse that bill mentions it to everyone. So, since there are a lot of zombies and likely a boss lurking around, doing the probably best thing i could do in the situation (considering its expert), I run towards the safehouse to try and close the door. There's a hunter waiting in there with about 10 of his infected friends. of course, my teammates are dead at this point, even though i had died from the smoker earlier and they either used my health pack or left it on the ground, so i'm nearly helpless unless i can get that hunter. Well, i miss him while he's jumping so i die in the safehouse.
So that's what happened. I happen to like playing the game so i stick with my clueless random teammates, but wait a second...one of the guys is ranting about how an AI player would be better than me and that i'm screwing the team apparently by "running ahead all of the time" and forgetting that no matter what i was doing, they were playing like ass the entire time, and even though i died once from friendly fire and once while they watched me die by a smoker, I just so happened to be the last one alive and almost saved our asses at the end despite their ignorance.
I'm even willing to live with obviously misdirected hostility towards easily the best player in the group, but then they start a vote to kick me. So, I get kicked.
Anyway enough of the rant, like I mentioned at the beginning, anyone else encountered complete douchebaggery like this?
I've never played with you, but I'd like to apologize to anyone that plays with me. I tend to get a little serious, but I'm never actually angry if things go wrong (well, unless it's directed at the A.I. Director). I just get into it a little too much.Ice Monkey said:nyone else notice that people seem to be taking this game way too seriously and a lot of people (a lot of times, the SAME people) are just complete idiots?
