Great Vs game that we just had, it was very close, even teams and any team could have won in the end but the best team did in the end

Oh, and now my Outbreak achievement is locked again. This is really odd.
She needs a buff, but if the infected team is any good you will never be able to crown her. Depending on the map sniping/running can be reliable though.delirium said:Great update. I still think witch needs a huge buff for VS. She's really only a minor hindrance for experienced teams. In most of my matches, we just slow down as the person with the shotgun cr0wn her and then we move on.
The patch just finally made the achievement report itself properly, so if you already had it in-game you'll likely have it added into your steam profile after a game or two.Red Scarlet said:So leaving a laggy campaign server and going to a new lobby is L2S? What?

:lol That would be so awesome if they actually did change the achievement requirements.Red Scarlet said:So leaving a laggy campaign server and going to a new lobby is L2S? What?

firex said:well, that's it. I need to play a bunch of vs this weekend. TF2 kind of sucks right now anyway until they nerf the new scout bat.
Updates to Left 4 Dead have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:
Left 4 Dead
Fixed sv_search_key appearing in server browser
Fixed issue where changing the sv_search_key did not update the master correctly
Fixed master server issue with Linux fork mode that affected availablity of Valve dedicated servers
Tank melee attack can now hit multiple Survivors in one swing
Missed from the previous list changes: Fixed acheivements to match stats. Past achievements not previously awarded will be shown in the game UI

I haven't tried it yet and I don't really trust early impressions, but my educated guess is that it still does extra damage but not muchRed Scarlet said:Wonder if they'll say anything about stuff that was taken away. It looks like it was mainly the 'Outbreak' one. Really, there is no reason that it took WayTtP? from me, but it's not difficult to get back.
You are really good at finding out particular info syll, have you heard/tested anything on the reduced flaming hunter damage? Someone said they thought flaming hunters do the same amount of damage now.

Zek said:Survival sounds okay, it's a much smaller time investment than campaign at least, but I still prefer killing players over AI. It's a shame there's no Versus Survival, even with only 4 Infected they could just have really fast spawning.

Health bonus is your health / 2 per survivor. Medpacks heal 80% of what you're missing, and pills are what, 60 health temporarily? Those were worth 1/4th IIRC.Red Scarlet said:Post results when you find out! Also, I know about the health bonus from pills, but what was that other thing about? Using a medkit then shooting the person? How in the world did that work?
Firstly, I'd stay away from VS for now, just join Co-op, inform the rest of your team that you're new, and ask if they could keep an eye on you. Try to stay in the middle of your team, the experienced people should take point and guard the rear. Do not wander off looking for supplies, stick with your team at all times. Use pain pills before medikits, try to save your medikit for as late as possible.okno said:So, I just got this tonight for the 360. I want to jump online, but it's always so hard to do so in games like this where the online community and rules are so established that anyone new to it is either ignored, kicked off, or picked on. Is there anything I should really know about in terms of playing online? I played the hell out of the demo, so I'm not totally clueless, and I'm playing through the single player campaign right now. Just keep my wits about me and make sure not to shoot the cars with alarms on them?

edit: I should also ask, anyone want to play? My tag is preservative. Shoot me a message or something if you're interested, I'm connecting to LIVE in a few.

So Survivor A who is bleeding out and has no medkit is worth 0 health bonus (I believe temp health from revival does not count). Survivor B who has 80 hp and a medkit is worth 48. If survivor B uses his health kit on Survivor A, Survivor A is worth 40 and Survivor B is worth 40. Handing off pills does the same thing (but a lesser effect).
The health bonus was only recalculated after a survivor took damage, hence the part about shooting them.
marvelharvey said:-If you're healing and a teammate is pounced, STOP and help them. The 5 seconds it takes to heal yourself will make your teammate lose insane amounts of blood and on expert, they'll be probably be dead.
-If one teammate is pounced and the other smokered, save the nearest guy first, as they'll both die fast.
The Progress and HealthBonus are both running totals you can see during the game, and they are only updated during certain times/events--Progress periodically, and HealthBonus anytime you 1.) gain a medical item by the Use key, or 2.) take damage. Handing someone pills with the secondary attack doesn't cause this to update, and neither does using items (the system takes items you have into account already as if used, therefore there's no reason to recalculate when they get used).Red Scarlet said:Yeah I know about the pills, but the shooting people after healing them part still doesn't make any sense.
