Anybody know what's in the update? That Teletubbies video is amazing. Zombies are fine. I can deal with zombies. Getting hunted by giant brightly coloured fat...things...is something else altogether.

I only have two Achievements left to get. One should be fine but the last one, no damage from Specials, seems way too hard even on Easy mode. Any tips?

A free update for the Xbox 360 version of Left 4 Dead is available now via Xbox Live. The update includes a host of fixes, tweaks and new features, including enhancements to Versus mode for improved competitive play. The full change list is:

General
Fixed Survivors being able to climb surfaces marked for versus infected only Fixed a class of SurvivorBot bugs dealing with rescuing downed players Players can no longer grab ladders while flying through the air after a Tank punch Shooting near a car with an alarm that has already fired the alarm will no longer make chirping noises Fixed mini-gun physics exploit Fixed propane tanks (and other physics objects) causing players to fall through elevators Fixed rare achievement bug issues Fixed several map exploits

Versus Changes

patch also added new achievements. Instead of out of 50, it shows out of 60. I guess Crash Course is coming soon.

For Nothing Special. if you are going to play with all human player then you need real good people to stick together and make sure special don't get you. For single player, choose blood harvest on easy and just rush through the stages. Running through the stage very fast, doesn't give the game a chance to spawn specials. So you'll have less special infected to deal with. For the finale, you are going to need to stand out in the open with the AI. This makes it easier for the AI to shoot the Tank while it is running toward the group. It is still hard to get the achievement with this method.

Yeap, that's what Valve originally announced. Crash Course has been absolutely AWOL since it's announcement though. No screens, videos, previews, nothing. They originally announced that it would hit in September too...And we're in the home stretch of September so we'll see.

The Paramore Game With Fame thing tomorrow mentions Crash Course, so should be hitting very, very soon.

So...anyone still playing the 360 version? I just got a 360 again and I've been enjoying some Zombie genocide. This game never gets old, I just was in a campaign last night were I got left behind by the group and had to run for my life from an entire horde to the safehouse. It was some intense shit. Anyways, if anyone is still playing you should keep an eye out of TigerStyle86 if you'd like someone to play with.

Following through on its promise to deliver a batch of Left 4 Dead downloadable content by September's end, developer Valve today dated the "Crash Course" add-on for a September 29 release.

The download--free on PC, 560 MS Points ($7) on Xbox 360--brings a new campaign to the zombie shooter for use in Campaign and Versus Modes. New Survival maps are included as well.

Of course it won't, the majority of people are gagging for a couple of new maps, me included. The game was too short to begin with, which is a shame that we have to pay for it now, I'm surprised it's held my interest this long though.

But it was cool while it lasted. My brother and I would play 1v1 Versus and I'd charge him as a Tank, wondering why he wouldn't shoot... at least until I lost like half my health in a millisecond. :D

I hear the 360 patch increased the amount of health spawns, possibly as a side effect of making them the same for both teams. Likely unintentional but sounds like something that would really ruin the game.

You start off with 4 people in the safe room, last man standing gets all the health.
Then the aim is to make it as far as possible on your own in expert while the rest watches and gives comments.
It was a surprising amount of fun (also, I got furthest in no mercy map 2, I got all the way to the second platform! :lol )

No you didn't! Botagel totally made it to the last train before he was mobbed. He's the winner!

I didn't actually see that, so it doesn't count!
He left me half-dead on the floor shooting a toilet out of frustration in the safe room, and died before my life timer reached 0! =p

Sounds like a game I play. All four start off and it's a direct race to the Safe Room. There's only a few rules. It's you vs everyone and you must do anything to slow down the others. Bombs, molotovs, provoking the Witch etc. There's no direct team killing because that's just pointless. Plus it's more fun alert the Horde and have them kill your team for you anyway. The few times we've played it have been hilarious. It's easily good enough to be an official mode in the game
