The Official Left 4 Dead Thread

Gonna do some L4D tonight (Berlin time) if anyone wants to join me. Still haven't gotten achievements for completing campaigns 2 and 3

Can someone actually join your server at any time, Vert? I wouldn't mind getting games started a little earlier and would occasionally like to jump onto your server and see if it could attract some attention. But I don't know the IP address and it doesn't show up in my history. Is it only active when you're on it?

Yea you can join whenever. Only problem is that if you want to use the config or mess with sv_cheats on while waiting, someone who knows the rcon password has to be there (I don't mind giving this out if I've played with you and trust you though). If no one who knows the rcon is there, you'll have to wait there doing nothing due to the RUP plugin most likely

To join the server type "connect 208.167.245.227:27015;password believe" into the console without quotes. Also, either add me to your friends list or message me telling you are playing on the server. If I don't recognize the people playing, I'll kick them :P

There's also the L4D group posted on the previous page. I usually schedule games thru the event scheduler steam has so when it's time to play a game, everyone in the group gets a popup letting them know.
 
Cool. I'll give it a shot sometime. Maybe it would fill, maybe not. I wouldn't mind trying this around 8 PM on some nights and if it did fill up, I could just send you a Steam PM. Most of the times I wish there was a game going on, you're online (already Steam friends.)

Also, we'll probably try to get a game going at like 10 PM tonight. Friday nights seem to be hit or miss...either we have too many and it becomes a race to see who gets in the fastest or we only end up with 3 or 4 :(
 
I played a VS match last night. We had the survivors down for the count except for one, who was close enough to the end and decided to make a mad dash for the safe room just to secure them some points. I flew in ghost mode ahead and spawned JUST as they were coming into the last room as a hunter and literally 10 feet from the door, got my pounce on.

It was Epic and hilarious... and I was cursed by that player.

if your down i can ask my friends. weve actually never scrimmed together, so we might be pretty bad compared to your team haha. we just get so bored playing against pubs.

Lies! but wait then I check the last page and I see you made another group! what the hell. You made me join the last group and then make another one and never see these L4D game notices. I have missed out on so much L4D action, not cool man, do you know what I am saying?

10 PM EST first come first serve. Probably another game at 12 AM EST. And if we have enough, another at 2 AM EST. And if by some chance we have enough after that, 4 AM EST :lol

I think I recorded it, I've a dem file of 10mb, sounds a little small but I'll try to frap is later and see what it captured.

Now we just have to get Volc to play the greatest config ever made. Once he plays it, it will change his mind!

edit: If we do play tonight, my server should be moved to Chicago by then. So you guys not on the east coast should get better ping.
