it's embarrassing to look @ my counter... 27.4 hours so far. sheesh.

Costanza said:Valve better fucking patch the glitchy achievements ASAP.
I should have gotten Stand Tall, Safety First, Do Not Disturb, Akimbo Assassin and Toll Collector just now when playing with Scarlet, Pop and Mutfox. They got them all and I didn't get a single one.
MutFox said:That's what I have, and have no issues... :/
Could be a firewall on your PC?
Remember to "Verify integrity of game cache"
It's in Game's, right click on L4D, then Properties.
Go to the "Local Files" tab, and click on it.![]()
Costanza said:yeah it was still lots of fun![]()
I'll do the verify cache thing when I get back online later.
Red Scarlet said:Ah damn, I didn't get Mutfox getting it.
Mutfox, I, Pop on Arrival, and Costanza decided to give a multi-goal playthrough a whirl. We went for the Safety First (No Friendly Fire through the whole campaign), Do Not Disturb (any Witches), Akimbo whatever (Pistols only-except Mut), and Standing Tall (No Knockdowns). Mut tried for not using any healing, but a Smoker on the first map kind of killed that idea.
It was intense, but our teamwork prevailed! Poor Costanza though, the game didn't give him anything for some reason.

Now maybe people won't give me such a hard time with friendly fire, but I doubt it. :lol
Awesome, awesome, fun time, and great teamwork you guys!
Red Scarlet said:Now that I think about it, I screwed us on one; the 'No one hit by a Boomer' one. I got barfed on by a shed and we had to retreat; sorry guys. I really thought we were gonna blow the no FF one when the Tanks showed up, but we kept our cool.

Soule said:The safety first achievement is so incredibly annoying, I was on the roof of no mercy and taken down the first tank and a stupid bot backed into my fire and raged hardcoreThe boomer achievement is pretty crazy hard to get as well :\
mandiller said:The exact same thing happened to me. I didn't get my double pistol and no healing achievements but my friend did. I found out the problem on the Steam forums, turns out that at the very start of the game if you have a slower internet connection and you join the game just after the opening cinematic when everyone is already picking up guns then it doesn't register that you've played through 100% of the campaign at the end. Sucks arse, hope valve fix is pronto!
dLMN8R said:So versus mode fucking rocks, but the scoring system is borked. If you don't finish a level - which is very tough to do regardless of skill after the first chapter - your earned points are essentially meaningless.
I think you should get the majority of your points based on the percentage of the level finished, with a 200-300 point bonus for finishing. Right now, you get 1000+ bonus for finishing and only 100-200 based on your percentage.
MutFox said:It really sucks that I lost half my health 20 feet from the level 1 spawn...
After that, I didnt lose that much,
but I had to heal to make sure I got the Stand Tall award...
Won said:I have seen it several times now, how a single guy runs of to the safe room, while the infected team is busy ripping the other survivors into pieces. The score still sucks since he doesn't get a survivor multiplicator, but he traveled the whole distance.
Red Scarlet said:I was waiting for the request to start over after that, but it never came.

Lyon said:It is just coincidence as long as you are searching for a dedicated server and not hosting yourself. At peak times it can be difficult to find a server, sometimes it's instant. It's getting better though, what with all the rented servers appearing.
Chinner said:I know that the whole point of this game is that its highly replayable but what kind playing time should I expect to get out of this from the first playthrough?
If you're not total shit at FPS and have some decent teammates to play with the game is easily beatable in 6-7 hours on advanced difficulty.Chinner said:I know that the whole point of this game is that its highly replayable but what kind playing time should I expect to get out of this from the first playthrough?
Okay, thats awesome. I was expecting something like 3-4 hours.Orellio said:If you're not total shit at FPS and have some decent teammates to play with the game is easily beatable in 6-7 hours on advanced difficulty.
I agree with this assessment. I played 3/4 campaigns last night on advanced, and got through them in barely over 3 hours. No Mercy -- the one I *had* played before -- was the one that took the longest.Orellio said:If you're not total shit at FPS and have some decent teammates to play with the game is easily beatable in 6-7 hours on advanced difficulty.

yeah, that's definitely it. Something like that shouldn't have made it out of QA.Red Scarlet said:Oh, that may have been the problem then. When we first started, Costanza had 3000 ping, then it went to normal. We may have gotten stuff picked up before his ping normalized.![]()
