How do you show fps in steam?

Couple different ways, If you want it to show ping / fps etc. data in bottom right (as shown in top pic) then type in net_graph 1 ,if you want it to just show the FPS readout in the upper left (bottom pic) then type cl_showfps 2.

Type these commands in the console during gameplay.

Argh. Forgot about those PST folks. *fist-shake*

edit: Should I bother staying up the extra 2 and a half hours to be sure and get it for $20 or do you guys think the deal will last the whole day?

Myself and two friends have been playing Versus on Live for about a week or so now, and we're undefeated. We've only lost two or three rounds, and never lost a game. We usually blow the other team out. It's really fun.

What a shitty night for random versus.

If people weren't hacking in medkits and pipe bombs and camping the spawn point for shits and giggles, they were letting themselves die early as the survivors so they could play as infected again.

And if I managed to find a group that genuinely wanted to play a fair match, we'd get thrown into a Dedicated Third Party server set to Expert.

Wee!

Hooray! Tre left early, but avec, PillowKnight, I, and Sanjay went all the way through. At the end, everyone lived through the first Tank, then the second one killed Sanjay, and I kept it busy dancing around the pipes so we killed it with PillowKnight down as it died. I got him up, he healed, and we booked it to the helicopter.

It was all looking good until I got to the helicopter, where I saw a Smoker below, that looked like it fell off the level, so I jumped into the helicopter...only to have the Smoker be on the other part of the map, pulling Pillow. I turned around to shoot the Smoker, and a Hunter pounced me inside. But!! The game ended right after that before he and I were both put into incapacitated, so PK got his No Mercy win finally!!!

And PK said he was going to FF us the most, but yeah.

Bought this today and played the shit out of it with 3 GAFers. I was originally going to get it for PC but I had the pressure from a few people to go with the 360 version. I'm having a blast with it.

Sorry about not jumping into your party chat earlier.. me and the 3 other guys were in a party and were in the middle of a campaign.

I widened the path that leads to the staircase so that the auto nav tool would pick it up, and now the AI bots and zombies can move freely through it. As I suspected, the zombies had a much easier time running down the stairs rather than up, so I think I'll keep it like this. Kinda cool to have zombies climbing stairs uphill.

As you can see, some of them are jumping off the stairs to their likely deaths.

I'll be keeping tabs on your progress. It should turn out interesting.
:lol Oh youuuuuuu!

After seeing how easily my AI friends get fatally pulled off from the stairs by smokers, I'm thinking of adding some railing to the pad. Should provide some protection from falls for smart humanz.

Ok. They REALLLLLLLLLLLLLY need to fix the whole "hanging on for dear life" on PLACES WHERE IT SHOULDNT HAPPEN. I lost in the finale on a vs match because he got caught on an air vent where I usually drop down.

This happened to me on the No Mercy finale. I was on the little rooftop with the ammo/health packs and somebody got cornered by a Smoker/Hunter below (and I think a tank was coming). So I immediately jump off the side to go and rescue him. Well, instead of jumping down like everybody does a million times, he decides he's gonna cling to the side and call for help instead.

I played 2 pretty good Versus games with GAFfers a few hours ago. The first was total domination, but the second was closer.

Can never find a game when I try to play alone. They should really add some filter options to the match-making system. if I just wanna find a match, I don't care if it's in the US or in Asia - I just want to play. Problem is: The game keeps making me a lobby leader and even if I wait for hours, no one will join because of my location. I don't mind playing on US servers, really. Latency isn't really an issue in this game.

Yes. Like let me choose stage I want to join into if I'm joining a game in progress.

thanks for the heads-up guys on the X360 sp campaign.

So split-screen is "just" 2 players or is up to 4? If the latter I'm going to buy it right now, otherwise I'll wai till it drops... reason is my shitty internet connection would let me play good like 2 days a week, and I'm not always free during those... damn.

Right now I want region selection in the filter options. The game keeps putting me in Japanese/HK servers that never get full.

Is there anyway to reset the audio settings to default? Or at least what are good settings for mic sensitivity and receive and transmit volume. Was playing yesterday and it was a bit jacked but I think it's b/c I messed with the settings before getting this new mic. :/

well i bought the 360 version this morning (full price bitches!), and i think im going to download the PC version tonight.

we'll see how it runs. i might not play the PC version too much until i uprgade my vid cards. we'll see.

wish me luck. hope to see some of you online soon.

(im going to add myself to the neogaf L4D group now.

What about the OpenServerBrowser through the developer console? Shouldn't that give you a reasonable idea of what the maps and server location are?

Starting from the lobby is still ideal as I want to play from start to finish. I don't want to jump into a game that's half-way done. I use it when I'm desperate, but I'd still rather prefer having the option of searching for US servers as they're a lot easier to find than servers in Asia.

To be honest, this game wasn't on my radar until I played the demo. I saw the light! The game was so much fun that I went out and bought it today. 360 version.

I missed out on the Amazon $20 deal!!! It sold out in a couple minutes. I did jump on the GoGamer deal for $35 though so I will be shooting it up with you guys soon

I didn't get any responses, so I'll try again in case it just got missed:

Anybody have tips for the finale of Dead Air on Expert? my group has tried it a few times, all ending in tragedy. :lol

Climb up on to the fuel truck. Best place to defend from, in my opinion.

And then when the Tank comes, jump down, and hit him with a molotov, run away and shoot as needed. Then run right back to the fuel truck again. Repeat.

Should we abandon the turret, then? We were having one guy on the fuel truck while the rest defended the gunner.

If you want to be really cheap, hide in/defend the respawn closet until the tank(s).

Find the area with the stairs that go up to a tiny broken hallway (with a crashed plane going up to one side). Have one person guard the stairs, 2 people guard the airplane area, and one person can stay at the end of it and freelance. For added help, use the minigun to push one of those big boxes in front of the stairs. If it's not 100% blocking the stairs, use a propane tank by placing it and exploding it to push it against the stairs.

Having that thing blocking the stairs really helps, as it slows down the Tank for a while (and zombies can't even get in).

Don't bother with the fuel truck...it's an awful spot to defend from. One smoker grab, and you're finished. From the staircase area, smokers can't grab you at long as you stay near the walls and the freelance guy gets them asap.

We did. We hardy ever try to use a turret on any of them. Always ends in disaster for us.

Is there a closet on the Dead Air finale?

Volcynika said:
Yes, if you're standing in front of the minigun where you can use it, look directly west and way over against the wall there's a closet.
Theres also another good place in Dead Air. The staircase (the kind you board airplanes with.)

But a closet is probably better lol

Has anyone beaten Dead Air whilst using the minigun and that position? It seems really hard to do.

Just got Do Not Disturb and Stomach Upset in one campaign of Dead Air. Good stuff. I've been playing Blood Harvest and No Mercy so much on Versus, it's cool to play Dead Air and Blood Toll. A bit refreshing.

Oh man, I never had filmgrain on in scare for my fps. But now that I've got it turned on...
It's addictive, plus I hardly get hit in FPS.

I beat it with a team that stood on top of the tanker truck. We didn't bother with the gun.

We had 2 on the fuel truck, one on the gun and one with a shotgun beside the gun. It worked great on Expert...

(Would have even worked better if I was getting more than 10fps on that level.)

this game is missing the classic double barrel shotgun. How can they forget that.
That's a great weapon, no doubt. But it only really works on slow, shambling zombies. Not fast, running zombies. D:

Woo, just beat Death Toll on expert! And in an hour and 40 minutes, only died twice, but the finale was done in one go. Almost died to the second tank, but he lost just enough health to die before delivering the killing blow.

Some say that's the easiest of the campaigns, but I don't care! It was awesome.

And the amusing part I told my friends on IRC:

18:26… Volc: someone said there was a tank in the tower in the 3rd area i think
18:26… Volc: he meant propane but osmeone was confused
18:26… Volc: so im like "THERES A TANK IN THE TOWER"
18:26… Volc: suddenly, the tank music started
18:26… Volc: D:
