Gets to pilot the crappy patrol labors

Which to me is weird. I heard a few people saying such things and then when I finally completed the game, it really wasn't all that crazily far fetched. I mean some people tried to say it was way over the top like MGS series at times and I didn't think this whatsoever.

Spoilers:

Wesker being all Matrix, Jill in that silly outfit with mask and cape, Chris being boring and so on. The giant underground sci-fi bases, the obvious connections between Tricell and Umbrella. It's very far fetched. I think the whole overarching story is silly too, the one I guess started in RE4 with these "new" zombies.

I do like the MGS-games, and yeah, they're silly and over the top as well. But apart from MGS4 I've at least liked the story enough to watch it and listen to the codec.

so i have to admit now that i`m on 4-2 this game on normal is alot easier than i expected, i hope veteran brings the pain :lol

Good lord I have put 31 hours into RE5 and I haven't done much of anything. I played it once, have only played online co-op for like an hour, am about half way done with my second playthrough and played tons of mercs. But I have yet to max out any weapon, have to do pro mode, I have to play with other people, I have to find all emblems, all treasures, and unlock all extras. Phew.

This game is gigantic.

???

Personally, the nanomachine explenation is far more plausible than mysterious bioweapon that makes people mutate into flesh eating monsters who for no apparent reasons gain twenty times their biomass... Still, its easy to suspend disbelieve...I don't mind it at all

Haha course a game is huge when you play it multiple times... the main seems pretty short though... alittle in line with uncharted, although that game had more narrative so seemed more fleshed out to me

Are those giant insects you fight later in the game supposed to be HD versions of the Chimera from RE 1/REmake? Or are they supposed to be the insect guys from RE 4? or a combination of the 2?

I think they're a a combination of the two. They're called Reapers in RE5 so I don'tthink they're supposed to be anything we've seen before.

Some of the boss fights in this game (on Veteran) have nearly ruined the experience for me. Been playing co-op and some of them
El Gigante, the second Uroboros encounter, Wesker+Jill, and especially Jill by herself
have been the antithesis of fun. It was satisfying downing them, but mostly because I so glad to not have to do that again. Veteran seems like the right starting co-op difficulty for most of the game, and those few encounters really knocked the game down a few notches in my mind.

Heh, I'm at 31 hours as well. Finished one full playthrough on Vet, jumped around and done about another half games's worth of play on that same difficulty level, almost finished the game on Amateur (just going for S rank), only played enough Mercs to unlock all the stages and characters (plus a little more with my friend). Unlocked all weapons (but the infinite launcher) but still upgrading, found all the emblems, don't know how I'm going to find all the treasure, and have gotten most of the figurines that don't require fully upgraded weapons. And there's still Pro mode, but I won't tackle that till I've fully upgraded the weapons I will most likely use on that mode.

And that was it. I didn't realize proximity was a reality issue. Thx.

speaking of proximity, i hope those who complain about the horrile audio compression in dialogues understand that most of them (all of them ingame ?) take place through character's headphones and mic sets and are supposed to sound like that. Not that audio quality is great otherwise, but i somehow felt that needed to be pointed out for someone.

Yeah, I have serious reservations about firing up professional when it's all over and done with. I don't know if I have the patience for that fight and
pulling shit out of Jill's chest
again.

Well depends on who you ask r concerning nanomachines explanation vs biological explantion. Point being the niether one is anywhere near doing what both games suggest. Different strokes for different folks.

Take the other one away.

I tried that but exchange is grayed out. And this time I'm near her. ;)

Both of our inventories are full though. (Even though I can exchange other items with her)

And the weapon she has equipped which I'm trying to take from her is one of the same weapons I have in my inventory.

Could either one of those two things be stopping the exchange?

that's because you already have a handgun then, there's no other reason. On my second playthrogh i noticed the game wouldn't let me pick up weapons i already owned (it would tell me my inventory is full even if it isn't) but Sheva, can still pick them up.
Between chapters you'll still be able to remove anything from her inventory and store it in the..uh...chest ?

Probably. Try taking any ammo she has for it and picking it all up before she has a chance to. She usually gives you dibs on it first anyways if you both have the same weapon.

Like I said earlier, the only setup where she's tolerable I've found is to give her the SMG and Sniper Rifle. That's the only combo where she knows when to switch weapons, and she's alright with the rifle. I take the pistol and shotgun. If I want to pick a few guys off I'll grab her rifle temporarily and give it back after. This way she isn't as much of a pain in the ass.

Ah. Sort of annoying.

difference that nanomachines exist now and general knowledge concerning their potential is low...there has already been some pretty remarkable advances..its pretty difficult to predict how far their role will go in future, but their effect will be pretty huge...

eish, it doesnt matter though, RE is just building on the zombie/monster ethos which developed long before it existed...I don't really care how realistic either is

Bought the game and started playing. As I'm walking through the town I start seeing a blue colour building around the characters and the town. This also occured on buildings in the town and the cut scenes. I quit the game, went to the main menu screen and it was still there.

I reset the game and played for 20 mins with no problems.

Possible faulty game or glitch? Anyone have this happen to them?

I'm just glad the
Matrix
stuff is done. That whole movement is done. The movie is ten years old. Fucking drop it already, it's NOT cool anymore.

So... I just beat the game.

Does anyone really think Wesker is dead? He seemed to be doing fine that pool of lava so I don't know what two more rockets which he's tanked a million times would really do to him. Not to mention, Capcom added that horrible Wesker's a research child twist which could set up him coming back as a clone somehow. This is Capcom so I find it really hard to believe we've seen the last of Wesker.

Well the only thing me and my buddy where thinking about was the fact that in all the villians files they talk about how they were destroyed/died. Weskers though, doesn't.
Why I wonder? :D

Well and thats the point I was going for. Either way they make good videogames!:lol

Well, yeah, I like the game and all. I just wished they'd gone with a more down to earth story, like the one in RE1 and RE2. Obviously, RE5 isn't the forst RE-game with a story like this.

I've pretty much just had her use a pistol and a sniper rifle throughout the game, mostly. It seems she'll change weapon depending on if she's covering or attacking. At least it seems like she'll use the pistol if she's in cover mode and rifle of she's in attack mode. Don't know what that depends on, though.

Same setup I used and I mentioned it earlier in the thread. Great stuff for her especially when she's taping that AK-47. :lol

Unlimited ammo and maxed out guns makes this game easy to run through on Professional. Hopefully I'll get to run through most of it tonight and have it done by tomorrow.

I really want to play pro with nothing but default money and guns. But I hear it's incredibly difficult with things like one hit kills.

What's the best money glitch? Is it still the golden egg one?

what's the Golden egg one?

I know you can go to Chapter 5-2 with unlimited ammo on any mag...
it will save right before the lickers and you can kill them in under a minute and get 12,250 in cash every time.

I'm in 5-3 at the moment and severely enraged. How in the heck do you deal with those damned enemies
that hatch from eggs?!? They seem to kill Chris or Sheva in one hit and I really have no strategy for them other than machine gun and hope that they expose their weakpoints. I've killed them before, but is there any weapon or tactic that is more effective than just shooting like mad and trying to run the hell away from them when they get close?

Anyone know where the Diamond Marquise is?

Translation from a Japanese page points this out as being in Chapter 6-3.

Here is the (poor) Google translation:

Chapter6-3 near collapse of the scaffolding and take Chris volcanic rock base is in a tunnel (see screen right) to destroy the power to shoot with a gun or a grenade, creating a scaffold. After the fall, Chris went to get it moved back out of the scaffold. Rock should be destroyed before falling to Chris. And Chris is not available in AI.

Any help would be appreciated...it's the last treasure I need to get.

Congrats, dude. I still have a few to get. Who Do You Trust (no clue how to get this one), The Works (I can't seem to get it), and beating Pro are the only ones that may prove a challenge.

Deflecting the crossbow arrow was ridiculously easy. Just get on the container at the start of 2-1 where a guy keeps shooting at you. Keep knifing and eventually you'll get it. Bring lots of healing items.

Before you cross the bridge that falls, shoot the rock pillar at it's base. It will crumble. Then when Chris falls off the bridge, he will be able to make his way to the diamond which is in plain sight on the ground near where the rocks fell.

yeah...you'll get it...
during the final form of Wesker..you'll need to shoot down the rock right next to the bridge that falls down as Chris. When the bridge falls you'll need to run straight i believe and the rock you shot will make a jump for you to go and get it.

who do you trust is really simple..you need to thank your partner 20 times after he / she heals you. so right after they heal you or gift you ammo press O and they will thank them. Do it 20 times and its all yours.
