Nah, Fisto's cool. Game needs Windu though

Could be just me, but most of the new trilogy's jedis are horrible.

Mace Windu will come sooner or later, I imagine they could end up with the complete roster from the Wii version's versus mode.

Does the game already have Yoda, Darth Maul and the Emperor as unlockable characters?

It's like they took the two most irritating characters.

What a mess.

That they did, i find i real odd that listening to the fans they come up with Fisto and Mundi, too bad they didn't survive order66, then Starkiller could have wiped them out.

I'm really happy with Luke and Obi-wan, but their Luke seems to have the same problem the ps2 version has. His outfit is blue, it was black, both clothes he wore in episode6 were pitch black, never dark blue.

I love the idea of single-player add-on DLC, good news.

Indeed, and for those Starkiller fans it's a great oppertunity to flesh out his story more with some in between missions, cus it's not possible for the sequel
(him being dead and all.)

The difference is that Maul wouldn't just be a skin like all the rest, he has his specific moves in the game when you fight him, so it would be pretty cool if we could download him as a full character.
The emperor can be unlocked as a skin in the ps3/x360 version.
I don't believe Yoda is in any version.

These are just glorified skins, all of the animations/powers are still the same as Starkiller, so Yoda and Maul wouldn't work very well.

That said, i've played a few levels as the Emperor. That's fucking fun :)

Can someone please explain what the difference between a purple crystal, compressed purple crystal, or unstable purple crystal is?

This is one of the most underrated games ever. I am playing through for the first time and I am glad a couple friends of mine pushed me to buy it. I figured this game was crap from reviews.

I had the opposite experience. I bought the game after I heard from friends that it wasn't as bad as the reviews were saying, and that the story was very good. I found the story to be a little light and the cutscenes unnecessarily ugly. The star destroyer segment was the worst moment I've had in gaming for years. The tie fighters were easy enough to destroy with lightning, but I wasn't able to pull that thing down until I ignored the QTE prompts. I am convinced that they were wrong at times. I am so bitter about that Star Destroyer part. The artwork for that was what originally had me excited for the game.

Also, I could not believe that in such a short game a level was repeated. I found the demo level to be the most fun. I also wish that this story expanding DLC was actually in the retail release. I think this story would've been better told by a more talented dev team.

I am in the process of playing the game through again and just made it through the Star Destroyer part. It wasn't nearly as bad as it was the first time.

I think why most people are complaining about the Star Destroyer level is that the prompts aren't always right. At least this was the case with the 360 version. Why it's this way I have no clue but I suspect this is a bug. Because for most of the prompts are correct except when your "honing" in the destroyer just before you should get the PULL DOWN triggers prompt to appear. When the destroyer is lined up it takes a good 3 seconds before the prompts tell you to PULL DOWN the Destroyer. And often times I found this wouldn't trigger at all, instead the prompts still sit there showing you to leave them centered and does nothing. I'd have to instead go against the prompts until they changed telling me to make adjustments and then it might trigger the PULL DOWN prompts.

I don't get all the complaints about camera control. The only time I felt constrained or looking at the wrong thing or at a wall, was the close enclosed ship levels. Otherwise because the areas are so large and open I didn't have a problem with the camera. More often then not they backed the camera up to show you more. And if I wanted to look at something I could maneuver the view to where I wanted to look.

Perhaps people are confusing the aiming with camera control? I do know targeting and the facing of the character controls are terrible in this game. But I don't blame that on camera control. Since often you could be fighting a character that's on screen and use your force power or saber attack next to him instead of at them. That's not camera problems, that's aiming problems.

The background for the prompts turns green, then you have to wait a couple of seconds and it will pull down. Just aim the destroyer right at you figure out where it turns green, then pull down. Easy as pie..........the second time around.

well i watched the cutscenes on youtube (due to a lack of a next gen console) and i must say, i am prety impressed, the story and character design was really good, only complain i have are the walking animations.

too bad that the gameplay isnt that great, accordingly to some who actually played the game.

I was having the same issues with the star destroyer scene too until I worked out that if I made sure that its nose was pointing up it would then give me the go ahead to pull it down. So if it wasn't letting me pull it down I would just move the nose up and then it would.

I just finished the game with the light side ending. Does anyone know if I can easily skip back to the end so I can do the dark side ending? Once I finished the save game reverted back to when you're leaving the SSD and heading to kill general kota for the first time. Or do I have to go through the whole thing again?

The star destroyer level was probably my favorite in the game, even if the control stick going up and down was misleading, it wasn't hard to realize that if you're pulling the ship down to...well, pull down.

Well I just finished the game. The actual bits where you are running around being a badass are really fun, making for a great game. Some of the boss levels, however, were just pitiful. Star Destroyer is an obvious one, but the Emperor battle was disgusting, too.

Overall, a good rental, and I look forward to a tweaked game in the same vein in a year or so.

I liked the game a lot.

I didn't listen to the hype machine, read a ton about it, or watch a lot of vids, so going in blind probably helped the experience a bit. Positively: The force powers were awesome and I loved the customizable crystals, etc. I wish that they pushed the RPG side more though. Interesting story, awesome endings. Negatively: Kazdan Paratus was a pain in the ass on Sith Master, the 'official' way to bring down the Star Destroyer was BS, and some of the voice-work was cringeworthy (Leia).

Enjoyed it though. Sequel would be nice. :D

Off-Topic: I need Assassin's Creed 2. Right meow.

Just got the game today, I can't believe the official thread is so small. The gameplay isn't bad, but I'm mostly done the second mission and there seems to be a lot of platforming involved. But what the fuck at loading times between menus? And I just got a sith costume, and for some bizarre reason it makes me go back to a save spot to put it on. It's a fun game but has some really weird design choices.

Not sure what difficulty you're on, but I found it pretty easy on Sith Warrior. Isolate them from each other, do aerial combos and before you land hit them with Force lightning to keep them from damaging you when you're on the ground getting ready for the next jump.
having just completed the level, those little rooms in the corners are monster closets and guys will continually spawn out of them. I killed at least 10 purge troopers trying to get out of there before I figured out "blow hole in floor"

I'm on the last level and the game's been OK so far. I haven't encountered a reason to play it again though. If you start a new game, is it a new game plus where you start with all your abilities? That would make me play through again.

Anyone tried the Jedi Temple mission DLC?

Yep, i bought it. I only played part of the beginning(had to go to work), looks pretty solid so far but i have no idea how long it is.
You have to force upgrade a few things, even if you have everything fully unlocked in the main game.
To select the Jedi temple mission, choose new game and then you can choose between the main game or the jedi temple.
You also get some good skins with the download. Mace Windu, Qui-gon, Starkiller outfits and i don't remember the rest.

There was a second character pack available for download which i didn't, i'm satisfied with the first one that came out, it had all the characters i wanted.

That's what I thought, but you have to access the DLC from inside the game.

How do you access it from within the game? I don't see an option anywhere to purchase DLC from any of the menus

Well i don't know how the Ps3 version works but i would be suprised if it's any different then the x360 method.

You can download the pack from the xbox live marketplace, once it's downloaded start a new game. Normally it should give the option to play either the main-game or the new jedi temple level.

Ah well, its not up in the PSN store this week, hopefully next week then.

Yeah, that could be it too:D .

It looks like the US psn store didn't get it this week, only europe did, i wonder why?

Is it worth it? What skins do you get with the new level?

I would say it depends on how much of a fan you are of the game.

If you really enjoyed the main-game and want more, then yes i do think it's worth getting.

Off the top of my head the skins you get by buying the jedi temple level: Mace Windu, Qui-Gon Jinn, Sithstalker Starkiller outfit without the helmet on, new training outfit Starkiller, half-man/machine Starkiller(looks really nice, like a badass terminator:D ), proxy 1 and 2(didn't really care for them but there was a difference between the models.), Edit: Oops forgot, you also get a Darth Maul skin.

There was also a second character pack skins that you had to buy seperate that included: Farmboy Luke Skywalker, Jango fett, Count Dooku,C3PO,3 Starkiller outfits and i'm sure i'm missing one or two but i can't remember the rest.
I didn't buy it cus i got all the characters i wanted from the first pack which was released some time ago.

Starkiller is the main character.

Oh. I thought he was called "The Apprentice". Goddamned Soul Calibur confused me.

A shame only Vader and Starkiller are the only 'unique' characters.

A new character moveset would make me play through this all again. I had an excellent time with it. Save for the secret Vader fight where he cons the fuck out of you.

Has the DLC secretly fixed any of the game's bugs? Like the cheesy fake Jedi Temple fight.

Oh nice, I am a huge fan of the main game, so I'll definitely be picking it up when it hits PSN.

I am going to pick this one up. It seems to be on sale at EB, used for 39.99.

Well, i finished the DLC last night, i got all the achievements and stuff. Overall i'm very pleased with what we got.

About the jedi temple:
The trials were kinda fun, nothing too fancy, just some simple puzzles and platforming. Starkiller's father as usual, a total douche, "The blood of a true jedi, my blood.". Arragont half-assed wannebee jedi.
My first playtrough was on SithMaster, and i expected to get the achievements for the other lower diffeculties at the same time. Suprise, suprise, you had to play trough the other diffeculties too. I don't think it's really a problem, it's a simple way to extend replayabilty of the dlc. Some of the costumes you get with it are really great, one of my favorite is the cybernetic Starkiller skeleton. The level looks to take place after
you join Kota in the main-game to learn some jedi-skills from him. You are there to seek more information about your father. The final battle is simelear like when Luke fought Vader in the Dagobah-cave, confronting your worst fears. You fight Sith stalker Starkiller(the one you become in the darkside ending) and the good robed jedi(costume you get from the light side ending). They are pretty much the same except they have a few cool new moves in their skill list.

Menzo, can we expect anymore dlc for the future? Or is this it?
Eitherway, great job Lucasarts.
Get cracking on TFU2 with hint, hint Luke most powerful jedi ever Skywalker, post 6.:D

I just beat the game today. A very flawed game with an awesome story.

Some of the gameplay segments were really annoying but despite all of its faults, I felt really cool running around slicing stuff up as a powerful Sith/Jedi.

One thing I never understood is the desire for QTEs (except for, perhaps, in survival horror games). If they were to be used, I would think they would be most effective if they were used on a minimal level (that is, like once or twice in the whole game in very epic parts of that certain game).

I didn't notice many plot holes going through the story (I did notice the inconsistency with The Force - Force in TFU was much more powerful than The Force presented in the movies - that's more of an inconsistency than a plot hole though). The character development could have probably been a lot better as well (particularly the love story). It's weird that the group worked so well together despite much character development. I really felt there was a connection between the group as a whole.

Overall, I'd rate the game a solid 7/10. A nice addition to the Star Wars canon, but as a game it doesn't stand up as well.
