, how are you coping? I need ideas because I have no work days to occupy my time between now and release.

I write about SF in general. Have been reviewing the past anime shows as well and...uh...doing other stuff. That stream that was up did NOT help...well, you know, it actually did help me out. Settled my confendence levels to go in and compete at some decent level.

no point in getting it there, the price would end up being the same when you take shipping into factor

Depends on other factors as well.

For me, after it was all said and done, $100 for each SE PS3 stick. Saved $13 each compared to EB Games (after taxes) and was able to actually place an order. (EB Games doesn't take orders anymore :( )

Third Strike.

Alright, for those of you having problems doing the "360 degree" motion for moves like Zangief's SPD and power bomb, I found a trick (it's nothing new, but it should help out people having problems).

I wanted to make sure I could do SPDs with regularity, so I went back and played through the SF2 series to see if the inputs were any harder (compared to 3S Hugo at least). The same technique I was using to get Hugo to do his SPD worked in the old SF2 games.

The motion I do is half circle back then up, meaning that the actual motion required is a 270 degree rotation and not a 360. It's better to try it on the games where Gief has a whiff animation (grabs the air, so to speak) so it's easier to confirm you got it right. The other piece of advice is to make sure you hit all of the switches. This is easily confirmed if you hear 4 clicks in your joystick (or 3 if you started by holding a direction).

edit: I just want to say that I only play on square gates, I have no problems with SPDs

I know what you mean, but I was expecting something as epic-sounding as his Alpha 2 theme.

Ah. Come to think of it, I did like Sakura's theme as well, or at least the intro to it. Overall though, I'm cool with the tracks. I can see why they went the direction they did. I hope for later iterations after the game has been established, they try more interesting directions with the BGM. Maybe an all symphonic one? =O

Fei Long
Cammy
Sakura
Ryu
Ken
Brazil

Awesome, awesome stuff

I read about this earlier in the thread.

I have been playing SF2 since 92? When I was a child, I remember asking my dad how to do a '360 motion on the SNES Pad. I could NEVER get this move on regularity. Most of the time I would jump in and do it in mid air and land and finish the input.

I went back to Super SF2 on SNES and I can honestly say this works PERFECT. It's almost overpowered because of the range/damage/priority on the computer. Makes me want to pick up Zief instead of a Shoto

Would be so awesome if I went in to work today and saw the manager picked up SFIV prior to normal UPS delivery...or we get SFIV in when we do normal distros today.

No, I dont care about logic.

I finally got my first online ranked win last night. It was against someone playing as Ken. I'm going to go for 5 wins by the end of the day today.

Anyone know when the buy.com preorders are going to get shipped out?

buy.com has HORRIBLE shipping for movies. And I mean fucking HORRIBLE. You might not get the game for a couple weeks if it's anything like when I've bough HD DVD/Blu-ray movies from them in the past.

Well I did also preorder the strategy guide and they did ship it out on friday. So I'm hoping the same for the game itself ( CE )

Is this game out tomorrow, or Wednesday? Gamestop is saying Wednesday.
some tomorrow, others Wednesday. There is no street date so when ever they get it is when they could sell it

Yeah I noticed that as well. They mention the Street Fighter movie but no mention of Street Fighter III.

Also

1991 - Based on the smash 1991 arcade hit, Street Fighter II takes the world by storm and and defines a generation of gamers
Are they talking about the home console port or are they saying that Street Fighter II is based on itself? Either way it doesn't read right.

There are tons of errors on there. "Street Fighter vs. SNK"?

FOB is slang for "fresh off the boat," aka, an asian person who immigrated to / lives in america but shows little signs of americanization and is "asian" to such a degree that it's almost as if they just got off the boat that brought them here. I'm not sure what the currency of the term is now, but it also refers to a subsect of asian american youths who have this "FOB-y" culture of dyeing their hair, reading Import Tuner and listening to trance. At least this is what it meant when I was growing up as an ABC surrounded by FOBs, it might mean something different now and I might be totally out of touch having not been entrenched in that kind of stuff for awhile.

Anyway, long story short, the joke's in reference to the large amount of people like this who play KOF.

SF3 was the worst selling of the series, but that's no reason to ignore it, especially with what it means to fighting game fans.

SF3 was quite possibly the most divisive game in the history of fighters. For every person who thought it was the shit, there was someone else who thought it was shit. This is one partial reason SFIV is doing so well- the older players are lapping it up because it isn't SF3.

The one thing I"m wondering about now is whether Capcom will muck up the PC release, whether players will accept it, and whether someone who hack GGPO into it. (I think that's gonna happen)

Im' not sure what a few of those are. I need a translation key. :lol

I'll try to translate to the best of my ability

KOF = King of Fighters = a game that fresh of the boat play...of course, the game is played in a lot of other countries. Probably my second favorite 2D fighting series.

ST = Super Street Fighter II Turbo = a game focused on zoning, footsies and ticks.

SC = Soul Calibur = a female cast with enormous bust sizes in IV. Even bigger and bouncy than the DOA cast.

MB = Melty Blood = guess someone thinks it's a button masher

GG = Guilty Gear =very complicated game...lol

HNK = Hokuto No Ken or Fist of the North Star = guess the matches are quick due to the ARC systems

SFIV = Street Fighter IV = ST resurrection plus focus, dash and super cancels.

MVC2 = Marvel vs. Capcom 2 = ugh...pyrotechnic, offensive explosion

Tekken = Juggle Fighter, why bother with 10-hit strings, just spam, launch and woila.

VF = Virtua Fighter = limited base of players and popularity in the U.S.

AH = Arcana Heart = never played it but must have loli action

CVS2 = Capcom vs Snk 2 = boring with the customs, roll cancels, etc

TS = Third Strike = a risked base game, if you guessed right and threw out a low forward with Ken...prepared to be rewarded...

Smash = Super Smash Bros (lol)

DOA = Dead or Alive = not really regarded as a "real" fighter
