DeeJay........

Man, I just don't get the "love" for this character. He's a 90's cliche, dare I say racist design. By far the worst in the history of SF.

T.Hawk........

A Native American chief. Ok. That took some serious thought to come up with. He is the most generic design in Street Fighter history. More generic than the Cammy clones in A3. More generic than "Mike" from SF1.

I'm 25 btw, been playing since childhood, and even then I thought these two were lame.

Umm... T-Hawk and Deejay are my favorite characters. If you put it that way, then every character is SF is stereotypical.

okay GAF, this has been bugging me since the rumours started.

since when is a 42% gain in characters 'almost doubling' the cast? Last i checked 1.00 + 0.42 does not round up to 2.0

If you go by the original arcade #, the cast has doubled since then. (This is an arcade game...)

I'm lousy fanboy, of course a gonna spend my fxcking 60 bucks for this game.

But when i look the screen i see more one add-on, the SFIV backgrounds and the music are are among the worst of the entire series, i was hoping for a total remake of this, like in Alpha/Zero or in the SFIII episode.

You should be more realistic so that you aren't disappointed when something that is more feasible actually happens. This isn't SF5 or a new entry in a different series.

In past games, Capcom has typically either altered the backgrounds (SF2 CE, Turbo), redrawn them (SSF2), or added new ones entirely (Both SF3 upgrades). They also already have all that "rival" music that they can use.

If you take the SF3 engine as example, I think they had new backgrounds for all 3 releases. Granted, when you're working in a 3d environment, the art has to be completed first then rendered in 3d later. While the SF3 games we're all hand drawn and converted to sprites. I don't know too much about the 3d modeling, but converting hand drawn art to sprites takes foreeeever.

Whoa, the "MvC2 version of Sonic Hurricane" part is new to me. I figured it'd be toned down to a non-MvC level.

But they're all rumors, so who knows what's really going to happen? Let's throw Rainbow Mika and Yun into the mix while it isn't confirmed. :lol

SF3 Second Impact had the same stages as New Generation, but altered. Like Elena's stage went from day to night, iirc.

Word. Gotta give props to T. Hawk as well. Always liked him and used him strictly in HD Remix. What I wonder is how strong will his tick throw game be??

We have like...3 screens to go buy. I think it's too early to be saying we're NOT getting any of these things.

That's right. All the new backgrounds were between DI and 3s. Shows how little I played A New Generation, that game was baaaaad compared to DI. But DI's still fun compared to 3s. Laid out the framework for one of the best fighting engines of all time tho.

Fucking hate T. Hawk. Not because he's bad or anything, but because he's a fucking bitch to play against. IMO SF4 had a perfect roster outside of a few exclusions. All this doubling the roster bull sounds terrible.

Semblance

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map
Juri is pretty SNK-ish. She not only looks quirky as fuck but might play similar to Kim - and I'm all for that. Viper looks meh too but is so much fun to play as, if Capcom can make another great SNK-inspired character I'd be so fucking ecstatic.

T. Hawk made a great transition to 3D, but is still T. Hawk. I'm sure all eight people who main him are happy though.

The transition in new generation was beautiful. The "falling", I mean.

I hope that T.Hawk portrait is just a placeholder. I'd rather have some Ikeno artwork there rather than what looks like a 3D render of his head. Same for the new girl.

I wonder how Super 4 is going to be distributed to arcades...

Considering how many boards were sold in japan, and many of them taken to several arcades in the states and across the world, will Capcom make everyone purchase completely new hardware for Super 4? I'd think it'd be waaaay more convenient just to purchase an add-on to the existing hardware.

All things considered tho, every time SF was released in the past with a new updated engine...it was an entirely new board.

Even if it's the case, I'm sure arcades around NY and SoCal would be the front runners of getting Super 4 first. If one shows up anywhere near SoCal, I'll be one of the first people there with a 720p camera taking video :lol

Yea I'm not a fan of THawk.. Hes a pain to get into with moves because he can crash down with an overhead or dragon punch out of it if you go in on the ground with his up and down dives.

Then his Tick throw is ridiculous.. Does shit tons of dmg and is annoying as Giefs SPD. Not looking forward to fighting him.

ok, checked the OP and this thread is huge already, what's the total info so far?

T hawk and that pink girl and no other news?

No DLC confirmation, no price, no date as yet

Well I'm not happy to see T.Hawk but like a stench, I knew he'd stick around.

Juri looks like she stepped out of Maximum Impact but I'm happy to have a new character.

Now, more media. More!

Ugh, it's pre-SFIV-BADART all over again. Juli looks like shit and T-Hawk simply has to be a work in progress. Day 1.

Not even close. :D T.Hawk model does look great and Juri seems unfinished(lacking polish?).

You can't please everyone anyway, but I do like the design of Juri as I do for the new characters in general. They will be considered part of the main roster along with Zangief,Guile,Dhalsim,Balrog, etc.

If Capcom release SF V with the original 12+4 from ST and omit the 6 new characters from IV,I think a lot of fan would be pissed. The new characters are being used quite often in high level of play.I expect Juri to be popular as well,so it's going to be hard to exclude them from SF V or spin off.

Zophar said:
Yeah, NG's stages were way better than 3S.

This. The quality of the art seemed to get worse as the series went on. Compare Gill's lava flowing BG to his simple temple bg. Or Elena had a two-tier stage. A few of the characters did.

It seems like it's going to be awhile before we find anything concrete about the new additions to the game. It just seems like they'll be rationing it out like before.

Tonight, we'll probably get a clip with the new characters. Maybe a new intro. And OOH, SSFIV.

Hey, the English is the least of your worries.

Do you know who "the artist" is for SF IV? Who on DeviantArt is so awesome? Please, explain this to me, I wanna read it.

Not to mention a specific artist, what I meant is that there are artists with much more creativity and talent out there, the Deviant Arts community was only an example.

You now... im poor, 60€ is a lot of money, here in Swizerland games are also more expensive.

What's people's problems with Juri? How can they tell she is a shitty character just from still pictures? :lol

Because is ugly, i dont talk about is style and is gameplay, im now SFIV team is making a great job (*cough*... except for some case like... Sagat... *cough*), but the design...

Is definitely remeber Falcoon work:

Like C.Viper, is not the design stile for a SF character, look like a Fail... Playmore SNK character.

It's still going to be on TX2, so it'll probably be sold as both an upgrade kit (HDD + dongle) and as a full kit (pcb + hdd + dongle).

I remember someone saying there was an "update" selection on the original version... I never bought the original on TX2 so I can't confirm.

I'd like to know how they're going to release the update soon, since I need to buy the damn thing LOL

You can pretty much bet your house/child/wife that Chinatown Fair and Denjin will have it first...

Then vote with your dollars until you get the things you believe make it worth your money. If all the rumored stuff is true, this is worth way more than 60 bucks to me. But, I'm not in Swizerland.

Sorry but the majority enjoyed SF4 and the new chars..

Somehow I don't think theyll backstep and not follow what they think is good.

Yep.. Arcade Infinity as well.. And Arcade UFO since I'm sure fubar will be all over it and he's the one who's been confirming most of these SSF4 rumors.

Just kidding...But seriously whats with all the DeeJay hate, if they bring him over in a similar form to remix he will be a monster.

Edit: I'll still be switching to Makoto as soon as I can get my hands on her though.

They are called upgrade kits or whatever, and they've been around since the arcade days.

The basically sell a new board with the game, marquee art, and everything for a couple hundred bucks or so.

And yeah, I would love to see this in American arcades. God imagine seeing this at a Seven Eleven like the old days. I'd probably shit myself.
