initial c. viper impressions had her as the fourth worst character in the arcade release, special move and jump cancels can do some funny stuff. give her some actual playtime before you throw her under a bus.

Makoto can deal far more damage than Fei however. :lol She should easily be better than Fei in super as well.Right now,shes considered to be lost in the mid tier with a lot of characters.

Fei was close to bottom in vanilla and might be bottom in super.

Im gonna give Adon a shot since he look fun.Its best if you focus on 3-4 characters max and mine will be Juri,Cody,Adon and possibly Hawk or Hakan (I need a grappler).Gouken seems pretty much the same,but Im gonna toy with his ultra 2 and see if I invest time in him.

I'm still undecided on who I'm going to be playing. Chun-Li will stay my main. But I want to learn Abel and T. Hawk. Not sure if I can get into grapplers though. Something just doesn't click with them for me. Aside from those two, Ibuki, Guy, Cammy and C. Viper are interesting to me too. Maybe Makoto.

I guarantee 90% of the community will have a pocket Cody for the first couple of months. Myself incuded XD

Makoto definitely didn't translate as well as the other two 3S characters. Not gonna place her anywhere now but for her to be higher than mid tier will mostly rely on whatever new shit is cooked up after the game comes out. I'm happy that U2 combos after AA Fukiage though.

Juri will be my main for sure, she's look very versatile. I'm still amazed she has 950 health too.

Also looking at: Claw, Guy (EX Hurricane Messiah?!), Dan (if he still has his dankyaku pressure), Ibuki and Ultra II er Chun.

Stay with Fuerte - that ultra spark (as long as it's unchanged in the final version) will see Fuerte to the upper tier or at least mid upper tier.

I was just reading some frame data at eventhubs and it's crazy the amount of blocked normals/specials he can punish freely with that ultra.

For example:
* Gief cannot use greenhand at all (even with FADC backdash) and he cannot even use cr.HK or cr.MK. And forget using lariats.

* With good reaction time, a blocked cr.MK from either Ryu or Ken is a free ultra. So Ryu/Ken definitely cannot use cr.HK or even LP SRK.

* Chun's cr.HK and far st.HK are all free ultra punish

* Boxer: this is going to be 5:5 battle or even 6:4 advantage for Fuerte. Once Fuerte has U2, boxer cannot do shit. Almost any type of dash punches and some of his normals (notably cr.HK) are free ultra on block.

* Blanka : poor, poor Blanka. Almost of his normals are free ultra on block. whiffed electricity with good reaction time is free ultra as well.

* Rufus: some of Rufus' most used normals are free ultra on block. Blocked target combo is free ultra as well. And yeah, forget using messiah kick.

* Honda: no headbutts at all for Honda, even EX one. Far st.HK is also a free ultra on block.


Once SSF4 comes out in the arcades, I won't be surprised seeing Fuerte mainers winning tourneys. This ultra makes it almost impossible to do any medium or big move on Fuerte without risking taking an ultra spark.

I'll definitely keep on maining Fuerte - ultra spark makes it less likely to depend on RSF for damage and it keeps fools afraid of engaging with Fuerte which means more chances for mix-ups and okizeme.

Other than that, Guy for sure - I always love fast running bastards.

Other than Guy, I might take up Claw again since he was my 1st character in SF4 - with the buffs he has, Claw might very well be a great contender.

Beyond that, I look forward to trying Ibuki or Makoto - they're fast and requires more finesse/mix-ups due to lower health.

Also, holy crap at Makoto damage. Nice.

But.. then I remember that Fuerte's Ultra Spark does 500 dmg and doesnt require a Super :lol

I'll never get people who say that Dee Jay looks shitty. He looks like he has piss easy links, can link into knockdown, Ultra setup off EX MGU, Sobats break armor and are quick... if his normals are half as good as ST, he'll be fine. And he does damage to boot.

If we're reeling off mains again:

Cammy, Dee Jay, and Ibuki after I level her up with some rare candies.
For Alts it'll be Ken, Guile (Hurricane doesn't look like complete ass), Cody or Guy, and probably T-Hawk just in case :lol

Lots of the other characters just look fun to play, too.

Awesome, as long as you learn to play at a tournament level you can beast scrubs online! be happy your 3S main was nefed pointlessly 10 fold when she still wouldn't be as good as the improved 3S characters in this game if she was kept the same!

She's sounding like Abel but worst due to her terrible mix-up game, lack of step kick pressure and inferior grab, wouldn't be shocked if Abel's jumping HP beats her out for AA as well outside of cross-overs I was hoping she'd be like Abel but better...
