Glad you posted that, because I was thinking the same thing about people being lukewarm towards it upon release (didn't know about Speilberg taking interest, which is neat).
I don't pay money for anything I don't think I would potentially put on the wall. Without knowing the artist and, more importantly, the subject I can't commit to dropping money on it. I'm picky as hell so I try to find things I really like. Sadly, most of those are gone before I'm even aware of them being up for sale so I've only managed to get two pieces in the year+ I've been looking. Speaking of, wasn't Olly making a new set of 5x5 video game hero prints? I could have sworn I saw a few early examples a long while back (Shenmue or something). Did those ever come out?

It's insane how addictive this hobby is (and expensive x_x). A year ago today I'd laugh if you told me I'd be losing sleep on Thursdays trying to catch a Mondo print I want. I finally added in my prints to my EB collection after only recently making an account on there. My collection is measly compared to some of you heavy hitters (looking at you jstevenson and listerfeend ) but it still makes me happy to be part of this community And more than anything I can't wait to watch this little collection grow ^_^

Andrew DeGraff Gallery 1988 stuff went up. Ended up getting the LotR one which makes the most sense for these map posters he does in my opinion.

I think what you're thinking of were covers for a game magazine (edge?) that were done in the same style as the 5x5s
He was definitely working on some new hero prints. There was even talk in this thread of a Chell from Portal 2-fer with half her body on one and the other half on the other.

He has the latter up on his store as an open edition lithograph. Just digitally painted photos, but figured someone might be interested in a less than fancy poster. $25.00 shipped.
