Drake's Nagel-y Blade Runner piece is pretty sweet. I think he might have done a Rachel print at some point as well. 125 is going to be a tough one to get; think I'll just skip it despite being Blade Runner related. Still undecided on Englert's "Lucky Star". His Six Feet Under piece from th Bottle Neck show might be my favorite of his besides his Thing print but I'm just not a big enough fan of the show to pick one up.

Wow, I think you just clarified that for me. I hate Nagel, so I suspect that's where my dislike of the Blade Runner piece is coming from. And I loves me some Blade Runner.

Just so you guys know, that Blade Runner piece will not be online. It will be at their gallery show starting on Friday. It may make it online if it doesn't sell out, but you never know.

Managed to nab 'Politics, Warfare and Magic' and 'Stop Listening To The Static' after all. I expected most of the good stuff would have sold out pretty quickly given the original traffic broke Bottleneck's server. The postage rate to Australia for this stuff never fails to sting as much as it does looking at the checkout though. It's almost not worth it. Almost.

Dunno about that, been lurking this thread for a while and it seems to me that the good stuff is surrounded by a lot of drivel now. Mondo must feel like they are printing money. I really love the Olly prints, but then others are often very lazy. If I get a print now, I would have to love the print even if I disregard whatever pop culture it is related to; the big name properties get used too often and it is hard to do it again and again and add something new.

There is some bad stuff being pumped out no doubt, but there has also been a rise in amount of of artists with some really talented folks hitting the scene. We are getting some real quality work far more often than before. And really theres a bunch of really talented non mondo artists out there putting out their work that don't get the same recognition. It's not like the older days of pop culture art was nothing but great pieces, tons of very valuable old prints are just.... ugly

Now you make me want to go back and figure out what I've said to make you feel this way :(

Haha, it's nothing bad. You have very strong opinions and there have been a few times you've proclaimed something to be terrible that I actually like for one reason or another. What it boils down to is basically "that's just your opinion, man," and as such, it doesn't really bother me.

I mean, I wouldn't even be able to remember a specific example without going back through this thread, so that should tell you how much it really stuck with me.

People like what they like.

Ah yes! The "less colors, more money" variant! In all honesty though, I really dig those. A tad too expensive for me though.

Heh, just realized that. I kind of don't like the way their neck stretches out. With that said, I think they're both solid pieces. Still prefer the Whalen, but these are good too.

So is Dark Hall just going to do a new pair of Charlie Brown Halloween/Christmas posters every year now?

Sorry, that's probably a bit harsh but, after those Whalens, why do the same thing again? Give us a Whalen Thanksgiving print instead!

tumblr_m9kxetNWj01rzianao1_500.gif

lol na man. There wrapped in acid free bags and stuck up with double stick tape. On the back. No tacks

The bottom pic of Tyrion is in a bag stuck up with tape also. But because it was heavy we put nail ooks underneath it just so it wouldnt fall to the floor if the tape failed.

Ah, I see. You can barely see the plastic in the shots. Either way, congrats on the opening, there's a bunch of awesome artwork there!

For the Englert Back to the Future print there's a $75 print in a run of 175, but I can't see what's different about it. I think they may have made a mistake and posted a duplicate image in the email notification.

Yeah I didn't notice it at first. The difference is it says lone pine mall instead of twin pine and Marty is next to the sign in the variant edition.

Man Mark keeps shitting these out doesn't he? I think his BTTF looks kind of cheap. I think he style works better with more nature focused scenes.

Honestly, Mark has gone from one of my favorite up and comers, to overhyped and overexposed very very quickly.

More and more of Englert's stuff is starting to just look like clip art to me. Which sucks, 'cause the dude can actually draw.

I have so much Adventure Time stuff already but I'm still gonna buy the hell out of that Harrison print. Hopefully. Actually, I might miss it. Fuck.

I like the look of the BTTF one, but unfortunately only the variant. Perhaps a bigger picture would have helped... see if there's more detail.

I was able to snag a BTTF which will be going up in my office. Thank you page monitor! I luckily happened to be in the middle of lunch surfing the web.
