Is it fair or right to ask that a writer change something from the way he creates it?
By that I mean, if a writer sets out and makes a story of pure fiction, should they force race in when it's very possible they created characters based on others they know? Or from events they have experinced? Or even simply because that is just what they happened to think of when creating it?
I don't think you or anyone who wants to see more of any group is wrong for wanting it, but I don't think it's fair to act like it's nearly as simple most writers adding a black/white/blue/green/gay character when they didn't set out to do so. If it's by choice then I'm all for it, I just don't know if I agree a writer should be forced to do so either.
