I know it's early days but I'm not sure why this isn't a bigger deal. I hate that an athlete from the 70s is somehow more relevant and newsworthy than the director(s) of arguably the most influential movie of the last 20 years.
It's hard to open up, but I think throughout the past year it's been at least a little bit easier and more accepting for others to not lash out an make and incredibly big deal about someone else's business. Caitlyn Jenner went all in, had a long interview announcing the transition, and is just in general in more of the spotlight. The Wachoski's are very private people.I know it's early days but I'm not sure why this isn't a bigger deal. VERY! I remember when Matrix came out it only added to the mystic because they wouldn't do press. All anyone knew was they are from Chicago. Of course this was before the social media boom.
Yeah pretty much sums it all up.Good for her.
Fuck the Daily Mail, as always.
Bring on Sense8: Season 2.

I have a theory that as human beings we tend to have only one event in our entire lives that we can truly call creative, and I use the Wachowski brothers as an example. I wonder if the Wachowski sisters can break the mold?
Maybe an inappropriate thread to ask this but how was their Netflix show? Haven't really heard much about it
One came out to the Windy City Times, the other came out in a Vanity Fair exposé with the promise of a reality television program.

Wow what a coincidence that is super cool good for them
I wonder if she had told Lana before Lana came out or if she told her after
How curious that both siblings turned out to be trans.
I don't really have much else to add. I hope they remember how to make a good movie one of these days.
It's called Gender dysphoria or gender identity disorder (GID), not transgender identity.Holy shit. Have there been sibling studies on transgender identity?
What I most what to know about (not that it's my business) is how each of them discovered their trans identity. Was it all one person at once, then all the other person? Or was one slightly farther along in the transition than the other, and gave advice and counsel to the one not as far along? Etc.
One of the things I've heard can happen is that the amount of testosterone may be higher/lower than normal, affecting finger digit development (longer ring finger for higher testosterone, longer index if lower), and that's apparently dictated by the baby, not the mother. So I'd think it's less the womb and more the genetics involved, which may or may not come from the mother's side. Which probably would make it more likely for gay/trans siblings.Actualy it is not that rare.... I would guess that since a "bug" in the womb is the most likely cause of trans people than if it "bugged" once it is more likely to "bug" again.
But then again I sound like my grandma saying that once you had a girl you have more chance of having a girl again =P
I suppose a non-binary gender identity could be called a "transgender identity" but that's more under the umbrella of genderqueer or... non-binary gender identity! It's called Gender dysphoria or gender identity disorder (GID), not transgender identity.
And no major sibling GID/ Gender Dysphoria studies at least that I know with adults.
I just went to the wiki and I was right.. I've never seen any of their shows or films. Still, I know that Speed Racer was insane...(bought the OST, because well... huelen likes her Giacchino!)
How is sense8?
While I agree, there was very little in terms of plot in the first 2 episodes (I just double checked, I finished episode 2. It seemed mostly to be a narrative about sexual and gender identity, at least that's all I can remember about it. I think it involved people being connected? Not sure.

At least she doesn't have to hide anymore, but the way she was forced to come out awful. Fuck the Daily Mail.
I support all sentiments in this post wholeheartedly.Good for her.

I loved the Matrix but hated sense8. Happy for them if they are happy.
