You really think that the admins and mods of the new forum were plotting to start a new site before any of the shit hit the fan?
Also, this thread is the majority of the current activity in the site. You're gonna be walking through tumbleweeds elsewhere.

Apparently. Posters on here mentioned that there was tension before, they were unhappy with how evilore went about things and the recent events were the final straw.
As I said it was only an opinion, it was never meant as a nasty comment.
Regardless of how the forum came about it certainly looks great so far. I honestly thought it would flop but I think its gonna get even stronger if they play their cards right...

There's a couple more events on that timeline though. The Facebook post happened on Tuesday. The mods started quitting on Thursday. We now know that they quit because of EL's poor handling of the incident internally. That was days before the public statement and probably when brainstorming for a new site began. Also keep in mind that after a flurry of confusion on Friday, the site was suddenly taken offline with no statement. It wasn't even known at the time if there was going to be a NeoGAF. There was reasonable ground to believe that a new site was going to be necessary going forward.
If you don't want to come then don't but it seems like weird reasons not too. If you like the community first and foremost and talking about games and specific related topics then a huge chunk of GAF has moved. Threads are already moving faster on the other side and they are working on adding a dark them. If you want tabs right now open them in Chrome tabs.
Reading the last few page it seems you are more angry that no one personally invited you to come over. People didn't have time to PM everyone with the downtime and the PM limits and many people quickly left and were disgusted. The most people could do was post Discord link in email tags.
You can try to understand this or keep lashing out at people with less GAF seniority than you and falsely claim that everyone leaving for the other site has been posting porn and NSFW stuff.
It's too bad GAF ended that way but that's the way it happened.

gmail worked for me. It went to the spam folder.
Did you check your spam folder. New sites usually get filtered that way.

That seems like an oddly small window.
For the record, I did not use a free email account. The confirmation appeared in my Junk folder.
Check your junk mail settings. I used gmail and the reg email went straight to spam.

Kagari is a mod on the new site. That's it, I believe.
IF that doesn't work you can also change the email in the settings and then resend the confimation (in gmail it will be inside the spam folder)

They got some people like socialcuckwarrior88 that registered. Which was the reason they wanted to avoid free emails.

I just have to say as a lurker for nearly a decade now, its sad to see what has happened to this site. I have high hopes that reset era will carry the flame of the community that once made neogaf great. Evilore, while I am hurt that you singlehandedly destroyed a community that played an enormous role in shaping me into the person I am today, I wish you no ill will, and I hope that one day you can acknowledge the hurt that you caused many members of this community.

The mod team leaving was the best part of all this. Not all of them were bad but a large part of them were responsible for the awful toxicity in the forum, basically encouraging people that you'll find in the new forum's mod list to be bullies and rude to others.

I'm surprised how quickly they were able to get the site up and running.
Lots of familiar faces also seem to have migrated to the site as well and already making community topics.
Both sites can coexist but they will have to have their own identities. I wonder what EL is going to do.

Harvey Weinstein isn't head of his company anymore. No one hated gaf the community, they're moving on with it. Not to mention Harvey didn't take down half his movies with the allegations coming up.
