Yeah I ended up just getting from buy.com. Imagine the embarrassment of explaining 'yeah its called superduperprices.com it sounded so plausible' :lol


why gamestop dont let you preorder in store I dont know. I mean arent they the specialists? They dont even have the premium on their site now.

Question for those who've played/starting to play it - my girlfriend wants to play this game with me, and she is just starting to really get into games (rather, she's always watched me play, but is now starting to join in on the gaming) - she loved watching Symphonia, do you think she'll enjoy playing this with me, or is the combat not too co-op friendly?

I'm getting the LE shipped to me, and I'll have to sit on it until I get my 360 during the holidays!

So don't you complain! I have to wait MONTHS even though the game will be in my possession!

Give her a spell-caster. I think Rita is one? They're easier to do. Just cast spells from afar. She'll be watching for most of the game and just joining in on the battles. It sounds pretty perfect for your situation actually.

I downloaded the corresponding DLC off the Japanese marketplace. The description shows up in English when I checked the harddrive so hopefully it will work.

Ever played Symphonia or Abyss in co-op? It's very co-op friendly imo, hell some of Abyss' mechanics implied cooperation (field of fonons). One thing that might be detracting to the co-op play is the camera angle. I haven't seen any co-op vids so I'm unsure as to how the camera displays the field.

The co-op factor is pretty much the biggest draw to me and my friends after going through Symphonia and Abyss together.

Sounds perfect ^^ hadn't thought of the mage angle (Girlfriend played a mage religiously back when we were WoWing) - after this I'm hoping to get her into something a bit more hardcore~

That's actually my biggest worry too - I tried the demo out and the camera was up SO close, I don't know if it'll work with two players - but considering this game HAS co-op built in, they've probably already considered that.

It would be just ridiculous if they regressed back to the Symphonia camera where it focuses on player 1 and everybody else might have to guess where they are and if they're hitting anything. Strangely enough if player 1 is dead you get to see the entire field bleh.

In the demo if you open up the menu during battle with the Y button you can mess around with the camera a bit using the x button. If you zoom it out all the way you can see around 3/4 of the battlefield, so it shouldn't be a problem.

They fixed that in the PS2 version

Ridge Racer VI (the us version) was the first and the last bandai-namco that was region free, so... :((

So my Secret Mission 17 efforts were kind of fucked up.
I'll try to describe it without giving away the secret...

There's a character that you have to use and he/she has a special move (just the tokugi type) that you have to use to get this mission done. However, I didn't notice FOR THREE HOURS, that this character also had a modifier skill applied which was modifying that particular tokugi. ffs. It doesn't help that the names of the tokugi and the modified tokugi are almost the same. Needless to say, the modified version just doesn't work for this case.

Anyway, just a warning that people may find handy, I guess!

Quick quesion, I want to pick this up. Haven't played a JRPG in a while but I did play Tales of Destiny on PS1 and Tales of Symphonia for the GameCube but nothing since. Will I like this game? Oh, and I'm really not a fan of excessive cutscenes btw.

edit: oh yeah, and how are the loads?

I'd say if you liked ToS and ToD you'll like this as well. Loads are very quick. Lost Odyssey this ain't.

Just noticed the trial downloads on the MP, when were those added? I guess Namco is going to use these as bait before they unleash a tidal wave of overpriced unnecessary DLC.

So, Gamestop.com doesn't have the LE anymore. Page is completely gone. Only Amazon left ,, and they better not fuck me over, I don't mind if its a little late. But as long as I get it. Now I felt like I really shoulda overnighted it.

Look on the bright side. At least it's actually limited. Unlike those poser games, like Perfect Dark Zero or Final Fantasy XII.

Sort of wishing I hadn't waited so long before ordering. Amazon is out of the CE and shipping stuff is getting weird with moving addresses and such.
