The nearest town should be Yormgen, right next to where you are.

Also, Yuri just lost a whole bunch of points for me, by turning into a huge hypocrite.

Yuri: If a part's infected, then you remove that part.

~*TWO AREAS LATER*~

Phaeroh: If a part has an infection, it must be removed.
Yuri: I don't buy that for a second.
Yeah, that whole twist of character was really odd. I immediately thought, "didn't you just say the same fucking thing to someone just awhile ago?"

Also it has to be 20 different items. Hopefully you didn't glitch it though by doing multiples.
So it can't unlock ever now even if I do 20 individual items?

I'm a bit surprised. The game was so polished, but I knew there was scamco in here somewhere!

Still confused about skills... I learned a bunch but when i read some of you guys saying you noticed so and so had the 1/2 damage skill on or whatever...how? where? I go to the skill tab and i see all of them, with a number besides them and a yellow meter on the top right that says 3 out of 10 for example but what do i do with this?...how do i know what skills are equipped and so on...?

The skills that are listed green are the ones equipped and that meter tells you the number of points that you can use to equip those skills. I believe the ones that say Weapon are automatically equipped and use no points, but I'm not sure.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

In the skill tab for the characters you will see a list of their learned skills. Anything highlighted in green is equipped and uses up the number of points associated with it. Any skill with a 'weapon' signifier next to it means it is currently attached to your equipped weapon and need not be green/turned on as it is automatically on for using that weapon. (So feel free to turn all those white if you want more points freed up for other skills.) Of course once you switch weapons to learn more skills you'll want to activate those again as they will no longer be turned on.

Some weapons have the skills 'quarter damage, half damage, minimum damage' set to learn. Those three cut your total damage value respectively, with minimum damage always dishing out 1 regardless. They are good to learn for grade farming or fatal strike bonuses, but if you accidentally leave them turned on for characters, then you'll notice yourself or party members doing constant 1hp damage(or half/quarter) in combat. That is what people are talking about.

Oh hell. I am so screwed. I was too poor to afford many items and this boss
Nan and Tison
just kicked my ass within a minute or two. I have no Pineapple Gels or anything so once I run out of MP that's it. I think I'm out of HP healing gels too. I might have to resort to that free XBL gel pack :lol Nearest town is way too far away.

Nan is tough as shit I didnt think Tison was that good I just put Julia on him with Rita, I think I should have used Karol against Nan though...I always keep Estelle back to heal folks. Nan kicked my ass though I tried to get her just with Yuri and that damn boomerang blade shit, kinda like Tira in SC, is a bitch when it comes back around. Also I think I had trouble blocking it...got it on my 2nd try. Have you played around with custom battle strategies?...but damn, Nan is so hot lol

God. That boss fight on Mt. Temza is still kicking my ass.
I even went back down the mountain, spent all my money, beat that crazy big bird at the base of the mountain, restocked again, and went up. Tison keeps hitting Estelle who for some reason has the worst AI in any Tales game. HEAL ME WHY ARE YOU STANDING THERE. I'm going to take Item Thrower off of her. God. Just use Nurse/Nightingale instead of "hey can I use a Lemon Gel?"
.

I like Raven's one liners the best, it didnt have the one where they go Our strength is intelligence, etc, etc, and then Raven says 'sexualilty!'

that one is my favorite.

Estelle and Judith's 'bouncy' bit is better.

Geez...I'm gonna need to go on a major grinding spree. I have something like six or seven weapons for Rita all with two or three skills that need learning. Important ones, too. For her Altered Artes. Every time I think I'm maybe going to catch up I find another two weapons for her in the dungeon I'm in.:lol

OK, Secret mission 17 is just absurd.

Seriously, I fought him at level 46-47 on hard mode, and I could not break his guard at all. I had one battle where I took off over 200,000 HP in the second phase while he was guarding, doing tens of thousands of damage every time I got him blocking in the right direction, and still no guard break. In one of my earliest attempts, I managed to guard break him repeatedly, but I failed to hit him with Rain and couldn't figure what I did to start it happening. Then around my ~8th attempt, I just have Yuri pounding on him while Raven used Rain from the side, and without even seeing or hearing the guard break, I just randomly complete the mission. Better to get lucky on hard mode than cheese through it on easy I guess, but whoever designed that needs to be shot.

Allegedly (I'm not there yet to test it out) If you have Yuri go into Overlimit and spam Destruction Field six times, it'll break his guard

Yup, Rita seems to get a crapload of weapons, and then you want to learn them as quick as possible if you can because usually you can synth upgrade them and they don't have the same skills. I think it might just be that a lot of her skills just take longer to learn.

You get the Judy costume automatically at a certain part of the story, and considering
it's her in the Dragon Rider costume
I'd probably consider it a spoiler for early on people.

Also note, generally they don't tell you when a title is a costume also.

And going back through the game, up to Nord now, that scene where you get Shining Eagle makes so much more sense now that I'm actually doing the Finding Clay subevent.

So I'm following the sub event guide from Kouli, and about Giganto monsters, do I have to go back and talk immediately after killing each one, or can I just do it whenever I next run into them?

Just whenever you get the chance.

Just tried the final boss.

I ran out of life bottle son his second form. I got him down to about 60,000 HP before I just couldn't fight him anymore. I'm in the early 60s, so I guess I have to grind a bit more.

Wait wait wait. I'm just defeating the giganto monsters as I find them. Are you saying there's a sidequest where I'm going to have to do it again? The last one cost me like 25k in items for healing :( Thankfully I got it back when I beat it.

They respawn. You can start the quest and just go along your merry way. By the time you get to the end game, aside from Brucis, they're all really easy. I fought one of them (
the monster that attacked Deidon Hold
) with only three people.

But said sidequest eventually cuts off after a while if you don't activate it before a certain point.

Ugh. Can I still get the Big Game Hunter achievement for killing all of them at least?
I believe you get that achievement for killing the mob in Zaude that's when i got it and didn't kill any of the others at that point.

Yes, you can still get the achievement, just not the subevent quest.
Well, at least I'll get that. Stupid missable sidequests. I like finishing the main game without worry about them and then printing out a guide and doing everything at the end game. I really had a lot of fun doing that in Symphonia. Don't want to start a new game to do everything.

Most importantly, are there any secret bosses or dungeons that become unavailable after any events? I definitely don't want to miss those.

There's no "points of no return" or anything, right? Either way, I think I'm nearing the end now.
I just beat Flynn and got SM21
, but I don't really want to finish yet, and have been trying to do sidequests despite missing a ton of them. What are some good near end game quests to do?

Off the top of my head I want to try and do:

Fell Weapons, or whatever they're called--I have no leads or ideas on where to start getting these.

I saw videos of poker and an achievement based on chips, but I don't know where the hell this casino is even at.

How do I get some costumes? I've been doing that bastard waiter game in Dahngrest to get some, but I barely have any.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
You know I always listen to GT reviews because they always spoil the game for you, I heard the final boss is in that video review so watch it at your own risk.

I watched it. He's in there for a few seconds, but if you haven't played the game you have zero clue what you're watching - as in the segment in the review doesn't say "hey, final boss". It's during the Gameplay segment - when they begin mentioning Fatal Strikes, just fast forward 15 seconds and you'll be fine if you just don't want to see it.

The final boss IS in it. Also, they show some very small portions of the ending if I recognize it correctly.

There's the school on Nam Cobanda Isle (in the very north west of the map), that has the poker game and a bunch of other minigames. South of that, in the middle of a round forest, is the spa (Yumanche?) with a couple of side events, and that requires a ton of gald. Also, have you done the dragon side event in the flying town (Myorzo?). And the joke weapon side quest, though I'm not sure if that's still available to you now. Ah and don't forget to upgrade your sorcerer's ring and check out the bits you missed in previous areas, including giganto monsters.

Yuri yelling during the final segment is the start of the final anime cutscene, but they literally show like 3 seconds of him just screaming and it doesn't reveal anything content wise. So unless you didn't want to know Yuri "yells" in the final cutscene, then yeah...it has that. Otherwise it looked like a good bulk of the review content was very early on in the game.

16 hours in, just beat the

in the desert. I've only missed one secret mission so now I have to restart over and over again until I get each one.

I finally beat that boss on top of the mountain (
Tison and Nan
). I got the secret mission with 450 hp left on the boss (so one hit left) and 2 of my teammates dead. Then the third died as I was reviving one. Got them all revived before rushing to do the final hit. Well that was stressful! Just over 21 hours in now. LV35.

I did the spa, but considering it cost so much and nothing seemed to happen I reloaded my game to before I paid. What else happens there?

I basically haven't done any sidequests, so no to the dragon thing, and I haven't heard of the joke weapon one at all. How can I upgrade the ring again? I recall a ton of areas I could never reach but I assumed it'd max out in the main game without doing anything yourself.

Oh man, I definitly need a second playthrough with a guide nearby to not miss this stuff. :p

You pay 300k, then 600k, then there is an event where you all get new costumes - pretty awesome costume for Judy :lol

I'm not sure what they're called in English, but there's a few caves that look the same. They are blocked before a certain part of the game, but now you've done that bit, they should be open. Two of these upgrade your ring. Level 4 ring is needed for most of the dungeons before and level 5 is needed for one part in the last dungeon.

Exactly. It's only a "spoiler" to people who know about it already. Game has been out awhile now, so it's fair game. Before a game's release, I hate spoiler stuff in official content and I'm all for burning the moron who ruined it. However, once the game is out, I don't care - either be busy playing it since you're a hardcore fan, or the spoiler isn't going to ruin it that much for you. Let's go back earlier into this thread when people bitched about the animated gif claiming it was a spoiler, when it was in the INTRO VIDEO. I remember when it was IGN or GameSpot's review that said Ganon was back in TP, and Zelda fans bitched. Seriously...some things...are not spoilers.
