[The Verge] Xbox console games are suddenly showing up inside the Xbox PC app

Is this the emulation of Xbox and Xbox 360 games that's been rumoured?

If Xbox Series does indeed end up being their final console, your library is at least future proof.

If I can finally play Gears of Wars 2 and 3, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey on PC, then I'll be happy to terminate Xbox consoles lol.

But that won't happen, I mean, Xbox consoles ending this gen... They will find a way to make it viable because having a hardware ecosystem that they have full control of us just too much of a convenience.

So if this is accurate does that mean that the rumours of a steam store app on Xbox where you can play your entire steam library on Xbox is real?

If you mean Steam app on Xbox console then no. The "effort" described in the article mentioned Steam games on PC showing up in the PC Xbox app.

If that happens it would be on their next console, which will likely be a straight up PC.

For now the best you can hope for is Steam library integration on the Xbox PC app.

Hand on your heart here... Who has an optical drive in their PC nowadays? There's not even a 5.25" slot in my current case.
You can have an external, but the point still stands.
I picked up an exteral for ripping my bluray collection. They're better as shelf art than actually being used

It's quite amazing that every decision that Microsoft make there's a significant crowd saying that's exactly the right direction should be heading in. Potentially just streaming? Ew

I've got one but I'm all digital, so don't ask me to explain that......

If it is just streaming then that's a big downer
There's a possibility it might turn out that way, but I'm honestly looking forward to something more than that.

Not only are we talking about games like Lost Odyssey, but also potentially better versions of stuff that's already on Steam.

All these dreams might get dashed in a few hours though lol.

They need to let us scan the discs on the console and get the games added into our digital library on PC.
Those who have physical games needs to have a solution as well.
