Is it just me or is the level of talent a little underwhelming this season?

I actually think that it is more diverse. The past couple of seasons there have been two or three that you just knew would be their at the end. This season so far i dont think so.

That last battle was pretty awesome, glad both of them are staying on the show.

Danielle has quite possibly the most perfect pitch control I've ever seen on one of these shows(to the point where I'm about to call BS on her never having singing lessons before, I guess she is just some vocal savant with perfect pitch), but stylistically and tonally she is super vanilla, meanwhile Caroline has completely unique tone and stylistic details. Made for an interesting contrast, especially in the harmony parts.

I'm really surprised with Caroline actually, cause I absolutely hated her blind audition, she was all over the place. But with this song she proved to me that she can be accurate while maintaining her stylistic flourishes, and her tone is like fucking velvet.

I'd say it's far more consistent, but less standouts.

I hear a lot, lot less pitchiness, control issues, and flat-out wierd choices, but I also don't hear a Nick or Amanda yet.

Given that the consistent has been winning over the standout, I guess I should not be surprised.

This is my feeling as well. I'm having a good time watching the Voice this season.

(Btw, where can I watch episodes that i've missed? My HR-24 dvr can only record so many shows at once. Sorry if this was answered earlier in the thread.)

Shakira strategic decision was awful. She should want the best on her team rather than wanting others to burn their steals. She used both of hers already.

Shakira's strategy was so both contestants could keep going, not so the other judges could burn their steals.

What a self-less Queen. ;-;

Savannah stomps all over the other girl.

I thought they were both pretty "meh."

Tonight's performances weren't very exciting. Nothing really bad, nothing really standout, yet again. Except Ryan perhaps.

Adam continues last season's habit of fairly weird choices that aren't necessarily good for his performers. Burning Love was a bad pick for Memphis guy.

Shakira's choice was interesting, assuming it's genuine-- she wanted both to continue. And that's really cool.

I guess I just didn't get that at first from the way she said it. Sad part is is that there are so many saves that are available. Saving one person means someone else needs to go home.

Either way I am just not that impressed with anybody that I have seen so far on this season. Maybe someone will surprise me tonight, and others may grow on me.

Easily the best battle round so far I thought - only one that I didn't like was Savannah whatsherface.

I thought Orlando was HORRIBLE during the audition - but damn he stepped up a lot. Ryan McInnes was my favourite from the audition rounds but I thought he lost that one.

Favourite was definitely the first battle though. Great stuff.

Caroline butchered Little Talks and yet Adam still picked her. I tuned in late so the other girl must have done worse... right?

Judith is alright, I think she's trying to do too much with her voice. I can hear the soul in the back but then she goes a little too crazy with the bridges.

Way better than I expected Monique to be after that practice footage, but still didn't love it. Didn't love either of them, really.

Caroline Glaser's performance was the worst I've heard someone do at this stage in the show. The fact she made it through is insane.

My god I am so sick of the same damn songs being sung every season. They need to place a restriction on the same song from the previous season being done or something.

Can't agree. Better than the House of the Rising Sun cover. I'd put her in the top half of the people tonight easily. Many pitchy people and weird choices.
