It's true.

I like Nintendo because they make it so I never need to hold onto my old consoles. They re-release all the good games at least 1 time each gen.

they make games that are well made and fun to play. this is why i like alot of developers.

NEVER FOGHAT.

YES! I played this game to death....first game that really made me go "wow a 3D enviroment to explore and i really can go anywhere"....so much freedom to just cruise around and enjoy the sights. I used to just fly around as the gyrocopter or the birdman looking at stuff in the America level.

True Genius.

I like Nintendo as they give a nice compliment to my pc gaming unfortunately for my football (soccer) needs I turn to mister sony

Why? WE/PES and FIFA are both released on PC annually as well.

Unless you really like Sony's own efforts? :P

I love most Nintendo games.

Their hardware and business decisions can blow me though.

I don't give a damn if they're making a profit or not, I either want them third party or to stop making such stupid decisions on hardware/general policies. Spend some money damn it!

I like Nintendo because it´s a company with a real solid catalogue of games, with lots of fantastic games. Their quality standard is pretty high and even their weaker titles are much better that the weaker titles of other companies.

I have played almost every title from Nintendo this generation because my work, and I feel safe saying no other company have keep a higher rate of production/quality like Nintendo for its two systems, even if they have not been at the same level that other generations.

It´s not my favorite company, I have no one, but I respect Nintendo.

Why?

Fun, polished first-party games and sturdy hardware that offers respectable power at an affordable price. (I sound like I'm talking about a car or something... ^^; )

I like Nintendo because they defined console gaming for me. Legend of Zelda was the first console game I ever played and the genre remains my favourite till now. While the best action adventure game I ever played remains to be Landstalker, Zelda will have a special place in my heart forever and I will continue to buy Nintendo systems as long as they keep releasing quality Zelda games. But as JackFrost said, this thread is a fucking trap. :lol

Nintendo jumped the shark midway through the N64 generation. Now they're like your senile uncle, who walks around with his pants around his ankles trying to paint the cat and pet the wall. They should be dragged outside and mercilessly clubbed to death, so as not to sully any positive memories you might have about when they actually had their shit together and weren't an embarassment.

I think you posted that only to say 'jump the shark'

But Nintendo did make the worst decision of all time by making N64 cart-based. Other than that, Nintendo is a damn fine games company.

Really? So where are all the quality games that they've released this generation? Did I just completely miss out on them?

Other than Zelda, Nintendo pretty much sucks. Harsh truth. Face it and move on.

Fixed. Thanks, I will. I've enjoyed Zelda: WW, SSBM, Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart: DD, and Pikmin. To be honest, Nintendo has fulfilled my expectations, and they weren't low. I'm not a gamer that needs a dozen AAA titles to come to appreciate a game company's output for a generation. Two or three works. :)

Raoul, stay on topic AND your meds, please. For the sake of us all.

Naming every quality title Nintendo's released this generation is kind of a lame request because what can I say to prove you wrong? You already think they've released shit, what's the point?

Nintendo has always been big on load times. They didn't want their games to be slow. Hell, look at the cube as well. Still great load times. Very snappy compared to it's competition usually.

It was a pricey decision though, especially for consumers.

I like Nintendo because of their style of games. Which basically give a gamer a limited set of moves, but then use then in ingenious combinations and ways, keeping the game fresh.

See any Mario platforming game, Jungle Beat, Smash Bros, Zelda, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, F-Zero. Not all are made by Nintendo, but they follow this philosophy.

Also, all of these games are fun when not accomplishing anything. Whether sailing in some random direction, piddling around a tropical island, or just straight time trial.

Musn't forget that Nintendo still makes the best console controllers. They fit my hand the best, and buttons are easy to reach, satisfying to press, and the sticks have just the right tension. None of their controllers are perfect, however, they are still the best compared to competetion.

Oh, and I like Nintendo - because they got rid of those slackers at Rareware :lol

But seriously, because Miyamoto is a friggin gaming genius and always makes cool and fresh new games.

Nintendo games don't pretend to be big budget Hollywood movies and make you sit through mountains of text and cutscenes.

#1 reason for me, although you put your finger on it more clearly than I was thinking.

difficult to play with my friends regulary on the pc since they have the ps2 versions and the pc version of pes4 was a crappy conversion

This is from Poland's history:

during the WWII and Germany occupation the Hitler's goverment asked the wisest and most intelligent professors and doctors to come to a special meeting in Jagielonian University (Krakow). The invitations said something about "Poland's future under the new circumstances".
The professors agreed and came. They were really the cream of the crop of polish science - the best educated people in my country.

After the meeting started, lo & behold, here comes the SS commando and arrests them. They went straight to the trucks and later gas chambers. All of them, without a trial, without a tiniest bit of justice. None survived.

And that's how I feel about this thread - a huge fucking trap to ban everyone that posts here!

It's a TRAP!

I like Nintendo because of the NES and the SNES - their lineup during that era was pure quality... I think Nintendo lost sight of the goal in the N64 market (lack of 3rd parties, lack of RPGs, and super blurry 3D really killed me on the system), did slightly better in the GC market, but now relies on gimmicks to sell their games. I'm a reactionary gamer, I don't believe innovation is the way forward, I think a return to tried and true (and further refined) formulas is the order of the day.

I like Nintendo because their games make me happy, and because they are the only company who can offer me the following:

1. Zelda
2. Metroid
3. Mario
4. Touch-sensitive gaming innovation
