I just had something amazing happen to me. Sun was just rising over the horizon, and I was walking down into a wooded area. Suddenly the wind kicks up, and right at dawn this storm roles in. Casting shadows everywhere and forms small waves in these ponds near me.

Breath taking. The atmosphere in this game man, good god.

Have we heard anything about what range of levels the expansions are being balanced around? I had heard it was meant to be content played within the context of the game itself. But then I've also read that people are completing the game with plenty of space between their level and the max level. I just don't want to get to level 30 and hear that the first expansion is tuned to 20 (not that I'm anywhere close to that after 20 hours of play).

well not really...yet
Finished the whole Bloody Baron quest line including
rescuing Anna

Fucking hell. Whole thing was brilliant. Haven't seen a rollercoaster of emotion like that in any game of this caliber before.

Bravo CDPR
The whole questline is amazing in terms of how different the outcome is depending on your choices prior

SPOILER for my outcome

I freed the Wood spirit in order to save the kids, but as a result the witches cursed Anna. When you find her with the Baron, she ends up dying, and the Baron later hangs himself.

So yeah. Thought I was doing the right thing, but...lol

I just found a vendor with Saddlebags that added 70 to my max, lol. I haven't even been near my capacity though. Crow's Perch like El Jaffe says.

So your maximum capacity is 130?

Can someone help me locate Yennefer's raven crystal? Someone earlier said it's near the Crossroads marker, but I couldn't find it. I'm going to need specifics. I haven't left White Orchard yet so it should still be there.

Holy fuck just finished the Bloody Baron and Crone questline.

Freed the Tree Spirit and ended up with the Baron hanging himself...what a depressing ending my god. After the Botchling and having to rebury his miscarried child brought back from the dead.., finding out his side of the story and finding some sort of sympathy for this pathetic man. Learning how he has post traumatic stress from the war and has become a alcoholic, finding his wife has been cheating on him behind his back for the last 3 years, his wife the one he loves the most in the world taunting him and begging him to end her life after killing the man she slept with. Only to find out you can't save his wife and he ends up hanging himself from grief...wow. Obviously nothing excuses him of his actions but didn't see that coming.

All of the armorsmith and merchant symbols show up though. When I go to the filter symbols part of the map, blacksmith isn't even an option.

Hey, so i tried something and it worked. I went to the quartermaster in the nilfgaardian camp and got him to craft a haft. (it was like 3 dollars) I made a save before the crafting thing happened just in case as well :p. After he crafted it I went back to blackbough and I can now talk to the guy.

It's where Vesemir waited for you to follow him after you broke camp at the beginning. The path forks there and it's in the grass by a bush just before you reach that fork.

Guy was selling passage to Skellige, so I took it, and a few minutes later I arrived. Opened the world map.

Like at first you swivel the view around, and it's pretty big, but nothing like Velen... then you start moving it around the margins, and there's an island here, and an island there, and the effect as you continue to see more and more land is pretty overwhelming. This game is so fucking large. That pre-release hype about it being 200 hours long doesn't feel like the usual exaggeration anymore.

42 hours in if Steam is correct.

Fuck, this game is melting my eye balls. I've been playing non-stop til my eyes bleed and have only just now gone to the Skellige Islands and HOLY FUCK, that's a lot of space and most likely lots of shit to do. I feel sometimes I just want to collapse under the sheer weight of content. I loved DA: I and still think BioWare is a great developer but FUCK ME does this game just shit all over Inquisition. The fucking quest design, the stories, the side quests that could basically be games on their own, the loot, the crafting, the fucking horse combat, the choices WITH ACTUAL FUCKING CONSEQUENCES, I can't, I cant...

I think I've just hit the sweet spot for sharpness. The noise stays minimal but the details are brought out quite nicely. Time toe tart playing the actual game! :D

Hmm. I've heard that every weapon has an identical moveset and pretty much everything outside of your main swords is comparatively poo. Firstly, is this accurate? And secondly, if so, is this as bad as it sounds?

Jesus, glad I didn't go that route!

I suck at playing Gwent, but then again I only played a few games (lost them all). I'll go back to it when I've done everything else.

I had no clue that was a possibility. I
killed the tree and rescued Anna with the Baron. She had gone insane from grief, however, and was escorted to a healer by the Baron's men. I have a feeling the story isn't over yet.

So far as I can tell, yes, on the first one. I've come across lots of non-sword weapons but they've never tempted me to wear them. And for the second... no? I mean, if it were a souls game, yeah, that'd be horrid. This isn't that though.

Is there a way to disable those annoying popups every time I switch inputs on PC? I've had several screenshots ruined by them -_-

Second this. Its annoying.

Yes.

Go to your:

SteamApps\common\The Witcher 3\bin\config\base

Inside that folder click on the "hidden" notepad file, it's very short. In the document change "LockControlScheme=0" to "1" or "2," I believe 1=KN/b and 2=Gamepad. In any event doing so will hide further pop ups and default set your UI to the control scheme number you set. For example, I now see controll prompts when I start the game instead of KB/M prompts. You can still change your input device on the fly but you will no longer see the annoying pop up.

Quick question:

How exactly are you supposed to get to Faroe in Skellige to do the Following the Thread quest? There is no fast travel post anywhere on that part of the map for me to use.

I ended up
switching routes to save the tree spirit cause I thought it was better that way. Turns out it wasn't and now the sergeant is in charge after the Baron hangs himself, which leads me to believe I just made everyones life in Velen far worse. RIP Baron ;_;7

Finally found it! On the map, it's northeast of the Crossroads by 30 paces or so while running.

And why would I want them?
I feel like I'm getting pretty far now. About 15 hours in I think. Just beat the
Baron story line. Fucking amazing. Best part of the game so far. In Novigrad now and am searching for dandelion. Just reached the bathhouse and decided that would be a good time to save lol. I absoutely love the story and I've really gotten used to the controls. Combat is still hit and miss but I'm liking it for the most part

The main thing that is bothering me is honestly the graphics and performance. Maybe it's just this Novigrad area and a little bit of the swamp area but they are really starting to look bland to me at times. I'm playing on PS4 but I can't help but feel let down when it looks bad. Feels like there are more frame rate issues now than there were earlier in the game. Not trying to be a downer but it's bugging me big time. I'm hoping a patch will clean it up a bit. I'm sure this looks fucking amazing on PC. Just wished it looked and ran better for me on PS4.

Yeah I chose to
save the tree spirit because if the Crones wanted it dead it seemed like it could have been the lesser of the two evils, might have been able to defeat the Crones. But saving the tree spirit you make a deal and ask it to save the children, children are saved but Anna is tortured turned into a water hasg and sadly dies when you try to save her...Baron ends up hanging himself. I read up about the other choice and man felt like I drew the short straw there...it was a hell of a ride I actually like my choice way more depressing but seemed more interesting if a alittle bittersweet.
Edit: previous poster mentioned it was left to the sergeant after...yeah definitely the bad ending then haha.

Thanks, now I can take some prompt free screenshots!

Out of curiosity what happens
if you dont release the tree spirit. I did and of course the Baron killed himself. However, it seemed that would be better for the lives of the citizens the Sergeant seemed like a level headed dude who assured me things would be put back to order which had gotten lax under the Baron's drunken rule. Oh and how are the children saved? What happens to the children if the tree spirit stays locked away?

Shrennin

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
I feel like I've spent/wasted a lot of my crown on things that really won't matter in the long run (all the horse armor from the merchant in the first area, herbs from the first herbalist to create almost all the things I could have possibly created, etc.) but I'm glad I finally got my set of the DLC armor as well. It seems like it may be worth it for my current level. I'm trying to complete everything in the tutorial area before I move on to the rest of the game.

Also, there's this hidden treasure thing in White Orchard (one of many question marks) that...

Has a body bloodied up for me to examine. All Geralt does when examining it is say something like "that's interesting" but there's nothing else for me to investigate. Does this go anywhere or was that body there for mystery as to what may have happened there?

I'm never going to finish this game. 10 hours in and I've done some side-quests and explored half of White Orchard. Just hit level 2. I think I've looted every house so far.

I refuse to fast travel in this game, I just love exploring this world. Great atmosphere.

I'm level 10 and don't think I'm going to finish for a long time, game really is huge...

I only got to the
Ciri story section
before reverting back so IDK.

Hopefully the
sergeant is actually a cool dude, I just assumed he was a worse pick for 'baron'
.

Really interested how this will play out late game.

Outdoors look great across the board it seems but yeah cities and interiors are pretty bland and low res textures for the most part even on pc maxed. I will say with a good sweet fx profile this game looks magnificent at high resolution, though much can't be done for the interiors. I can't spend too much time in Novigrad before wanting to head out into the wilds, feels too cramped especially with every interior looking mostly the same.
