same thing happened to me, i had to get the nilfgaardian quartermaster to craft something really cheap for me and when I went back he was fixed.

Yeah, also had to go to the quartermaster. Will try to speak to the blacksmith later, heard he only crafts low level shit anyway.

Debating on picking up the guide... and I have a question...

If my friend and I are playing (on seperate consoles of course) and we kill the same guy... and he/she drops a weapon.... does the same weapon drop for both of us? Are stats random?

special items in chest seem to be the same but the stats are partially randomized

Bought this 2 days ago, after not being too interested in Witcher games (bought W2 cheap on steam sale and had played maybe 5 hours of it, not liking the combat).

Well, combat's still hard, but man oh man, everything else is pretty effin nuts.

Made it onto the level 6 story missions in Velen, but so many side missions. Some are pretty drawn out, with multiple things to investigate.

Last thing I did last night, was I decided I wanted to scope out that large city to the north. I crested a hill (near some Fort that was a large pit inside the walls), and got the far off view of the city from 1000+ feet away). Wowsers.

So much loot, so little understanding of what to do with it. Sell swords for 9 coins, or break it for bountiful quantities of string?

To be fair I think there are way too many relics in the game, kind of makes it pointless to have items classified as relics.

Yeah feels like there's relics in every other granny's cupboard.
Why. Old civilisation don't just implode. It's reasonable that people found that stuff around or looted it at some war location.

Getting wrecked by

and his stupid regen. Just like the werewolf. Ugh.
Hello, useless spoiler.

Oh man. I love this game.

I'm mid level 5 now. Have decent armour and the Viper swords from White Orchard.
I'm in Velen and can plough my way through level 3-5 bandit camps like a leaping, dismembering, decapitating and fire spewing ballet of death.

Except I was just performing the ballet in a level 3-5 bandit camp on the coast thinking I was clever and laughing at the shower of blood and limbs when it turned out the camp was under attack by a bunch of level 15 drowners. Ballet cancelled.

Weapon damage is absurd. Combat dulls weapons so quickly, it kills all motivation to explore the wilds.

Surely this will be balanced with a patch.

There's at least 2 seperate quest that gives a pass you probably just didn't pay attention when you got it :p
only 2 times i have heard of a pass
first was on a bridge, don't remember where, one guy wanted me to help his brother-in-law while he was looting corpses...i actually had already met the guy but he was dead at the end of the mission...guy said no pass for me.
the second one was for a monster..soldier said that he would give me a pass plus money if i get rid of it...never cared about that quest.
so i don't really know where i got that
:p

There is a blacksmith, but he doesn't talk to me, also there isn't an X to interact with him. Is this a bug or have I done something wrong ? So annoying to teleport to White Orchard when I want a new weapon crafted...

It's in Velen, the next village from where the baron lives.

There is a blacksmith right there in Crow's Perch. I think you need to talk to the apprentice before you can speak with the blacksmith himself though.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.

The
baron
gives one to you if you finish most of his quests.

The answer:
Yes. Check your quest log; it should be obvious who gave it to you.

yeah..suspected that..
.i got confused because there's another place who needs a pass..a place with a bridge ,where i don't remember since i stumbled there wandering aimlessly

Looking for a mod that can get rid of weapon/armor getting damaged. Does such a thing exist? It's an annoyance that I could live without.

Anyone else encounter a glitch that added around eight hours to their playtime? As cool as it seems to have already sunk twenty hours in to the game, doesn't seem feasible that I played eight hours during the time of 3pm to 5pm Wednesday.

Is the griffin armor something I should come across via quests or is it in a more random location that's discovered via exploration? I am level 10, still in velen with some side quests still to do before I head to Novigrad.

Yeah, quoting it sure helps asshole. I'm out. Seeing you police the thread is annoying.
Well, excuse me. I am not the police, you are free to ignore me. However I would love to see an imrpovement in spoilers, where people can make informed decisions when to look behind a spoiler and when not. If you properly mark your spoilers, more people may read them, since they know they won't be spoiled and more people who don't want to be spoiled can overlook them with pure heart.

Only played 4 hrs, but love it so far. Wish the text was bigger.
They should really build a option for text size in, far too many people seem to suffer when playing on a telly.

I have to say Geralt looks better without that hairworks shenanigans.

The radial menu is why I'm considering just swithcing to keyboard and mouse for this game. Hot keying is just so much awesome.

But my comfy couch TV gaming doe :|

Radial menu sucked in W2 (you couldn't just point to something with the analog stick, but had to move over to it step by step), better here but still not great. Hold and release should definitely be possible.

Hold and release would be so much better. :( I don't like how it works in W3 at all.

I like a gaffer's idea. Holding R2 and then pressing a face button to switch immediately to a particular sign.

Hello, useless spoiler.

Well in most RPGs relics are the strongest items, and as far as I know that is also the case in the Witcher.(I think only relics have 3 rune slots, but I'm not sure)

Not to mention that all(most) of the relics are named, which would imply that they are famous swords.

For your theory to be true, most of the relic weapons should be useless and only a handful great.

All of this is actually based on the dark ages, when the older swords were better because the barbarian smiths were in no way comparable to the smiths of Ancient Rome and Greece. That is way most of the famous swords of that area are old ass swords, that have mythical origins. (like Excalibur)

Where did you get this and how do I acquire it?

What would happen to missions and side quests in Velen if I head to Novigrad immediately to max out in-game currency? My save file starts as soon as I get to Velen but I want to grind in-game currency.

Is there a way to avoid the Wandering in the Dark mission without having an effect upon the Friends with Benefits achievement? Is there a way to not complete all of Keira's missions
and still send her to Kaer Morhen? Basically, I want to keep her alive so how do I accomplish this?

What happens if I kill the spirit in the Bloody Baron storyline versus saving it?

If you are playing on the PS4, yes, it is known.

So I'm officially stuck.

Have to fight that wild hunt soldier in some kind of catacomb together with a sorceress, but I simply do not have enough defence and attack. Don't have enough food anymore, don't have bombs and I keep on getting hit whenever I get a hit in on him. Can't even go back to do sidemissions first. The way towards this knight was easy as hell, even the golem. meh.

The trick is to
work in tandem with Keira. When she hits the Wild Hunt soldier he loses his balance for a while and that is when you can get a few hits in. Alternatively, use Axii to temporarily disorient him. And make sure to use Tawny Owl potion for faster stamina regeneration.

I don't get the weapon degradation complains, is it just me or they degrade super slowly ? I also have a ton of repair kits from exploring, not really an issue
