The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT| Gwent Player, Monster Slayer, EVEN RACISM

Does this happen before or after the romance? If after, then you can convince her to not go to Radovid and get killed, and tell her to go to Kaer Moerhen and also take the notes from her willingly.

BTW. Why are you monsters killing her?

She
used Jarrod and is a necromancer. She barely wanted to help out with Citrus.

I don't know if that happened with other games in the series but considering how they were praised for their new benchmarks in graphics first and foremost I wouldn't be surprised.

Narrative first and foremost. Witcher 1 was not a looker, and released the same year as Crysis. Witcher 2 was, but had its own technical limitations, and funnily enough released the same year as Crysis 2. Witcher 2 held its own visually, but yeah, the series praise is primarily focused on the narrative, characters, and quest design more than anything else.

That being said, I personally think Wild Hunt plays far and away the best of the three and more and holds its own.

This is what i see in my Quest Log now

Just because i got item before i even started that quest. It killed my exploration spirit :(
If anything it rewarded you kinda, was saying there's no need to ask a specialist where to find it because you did on your own. Quest didn't fail, just don't need to do that step anymore.

Interesting I didn't know that. The story is fantastic and the character development has me in it till the end. Which considering how much I loathe the actual gameplay is a huge feat for the game and really shows just how great the narrative is.

Is it based on a book?

Im still early on (lvl 5) and am in Velen. Anyone notice that those axes bandits use do much more damage that the swords that you pick up and can craft? I can't be the only axe wielder can I?

These Monster hunts are the best part of the game, in my opinion. I know there's some big pieces of DLC coming up 'til next year, but I hope CDPR continues to add additional Witcher contracts and monsters.

Well, if they don't, I'll have to rely on the mod community once I get this for PC. >_>

This game looks incredible at times. Like original trailer incredible.

If you get rain while the sun is setting or rising it just takes it up to a entirely different level.

Also going to the swaps at sunrise (5-6am) it just looks astonishing.

Best looking game I've ever played and the game itself is incredible.

This is the best all round gaming experience I've had in years, I'm awestruck.

Roll would be A on a 360 controller. But usually you should dodge (B) rather than roll. Quicker, doesn't use any stamina, and sets you up perfectly for the next strike. Rolling is mostly for when you really need to get the hell out of the way.

When on horseback, hold down the attack button to slow down time and line up your strike, then release to attack.

Thanks - I really needed roll for the Griffin fight since dodge doesn't move you far enough away if you're trying to hit his flank/back.

Will try to kill someone from horseback tonight.

looks like everyone is enjoying this game. would you guys say this game is so far game of the year?

For me, definitely. I loved bloodborne but witcher 3 is something else.

I'm not having problems with combat. I like how heavy geralt feels. For me the combat is very soul-ish.
Quests, voice acting, graphics are very good.

Things i didn't like are the awkward swimming controls and the crossbow. It takes too long to aim the crossbow and you can't move while aiming. And i think one shotting drowners underwater with the crossbow is just silly.

So sick of that stupid horse constantly pulling against me when I'm riding, just go in a straight line you bastard!

As far as the human archer section I'm not locking on. You know how Geralt automatically centers to face the closest threat. Thats what I mean. I can't just run toward the arrow guy dodging everyone around me. Its like I'm waltzing with each enemy till I can get close enough to strike.

That is what I cannot stand. Why can't they make it so you only focus when manually locking on, like in every other kind of 3rd person combat...

Yes. They're licensed "unofficial" sequels to the Polish series, so the stories are new but characters/lore/etc are from the novels.

Can't you hold X (or whatever the roll button is) to take off the "lock" and go to the archer? That's what you have to do if you want to run away from a threat. It should work the same way to get to someone in the back.

I'd test it out again to make sure I'm correct/not losing my mind, but I'm away from the game at the moment.

Saw this a few days ago and I agree it was very impressive visually.

For situations like this why not just sprint past the other enemies? When sprinting in combat you will not strafe around the nearest enemy. Of course if you just used a sign you probably wont have enough stamina to sprint very far, but a full stamina bar will allow you to cover a large distance during combat.

Yeah, agreed. I fucking loved GTAV (so much so that I triple dipped, 360/PS4/PC), but this is one of the best games I've played in years, no hyperbole. I got it with my GPU but I may just buy the PS4 version anyway to support them.

fyi if you're on the pc version

go into your witcher 3 folder

you have
  • .pdf files of art book, map
  • wallpapers
  • random art images
  • zipped soundtrack in .mp3 and .flac

I love CDPR.

Tbh, you don't need to grind for cash at all. Just get to witchering. You get 250~ crowns per contract and the miniboss at the end drops a trophy, a bunch of alchemical stuff and an item (want to say swords only).

I had 3k by level 12 and now I have over 10k with practically nothing to spend it on.

yeah normal is way too easy

blood and broken bones here I come

the first few hours felt like an uphill struggle but once you have your shit together prep wise (oils/potions etc) and have started shaping your build via the skill tree you become really powerful

Triss said to stop by her place after her first mission in Novigrad, but I can't find her. Are we supposed to know where she is?

Have we heard of any of The Witcher 3 devs after all these awesome reviews and and the great reception of players?! I would love to see or read some reactions from them.

The details and attention and, well everything that was poured into this game, it must be a extreme joy to have all this hard work paid off.

I know I'm far behind everyone but that frying pan mission was gold. Geralt's deadpan (hehe) humor was spot-on. Love it.

Really needing the font size to be fixed, I find myself perpetually squinting at the screen for no reason.

Maxwood

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
Wasn't that talking about the herbalist in White Orchard? Collected a ton of honeycombs, never got an option to sell them to her.
Simply ask her what's she's got to sell. She gives more coin for honeycombs then most other merchants.
There's no "collect 10 of these" Quest here.

Holding the left stick forward seems to override any automatic horse movement. If you're just holding sprint then the horse is probably trying to glue itself to a road or just avoid stuff that it might run into.

Wonder how the
monocle
will come up again. Sounds intriguing
