I do play those games and I still don't quite get it. My games have me keep playing stuff until they pass, then I play enough to just beat them, then next round the same. I mean, I know it's meant to have strategy and all but it seems in the end it just comes down to who has the cards with the big numbers. And it's hard to really plan things or trip up your enemy when you have to wait for them to pass to pull out a trick.
I just don't get it.
theres alot of strategy. ive beaten everyone except one guy and Im still using my starter deck with added cards and no Folstet 2 (one of the best hero cards).
ok so Ill break it down
you got melee ranged and siege
each card has a number at the top left. everytime you place a card, the number at the top left will go towards your score. your goal is to have the highest score before your opponent decides to pass or runs out of cards.
some cards have special abilities and the card description explains that ability.
there are weather cards, those cards if placed will reduce all the cards in that row down to 1 unless its a special golden 10 card. snow effects melee, fog effects ranged, and rain effects siege. then you have a clear weather card that clears out any weather effects
your hero card has his own ability.
basically your goal again, is to get the most points before your opponent decides to pass or lose all his/her cards. and you gotta win 2 rounds.
theres so much stratergy due to the many different cards with different special abilities.
theres also unique nuetral cards that add to the strategy and can be game changers like the decoy card which will remove any of your cards you currently laid down in a round back into play for you. this is useful because if a enemy lays a card on my side that gives him cards (spy card). then i can use decoy and take that spy card and use it for myself to get extra cards.
the key is understanding the special abilities of cards. its Vital for success.
I typically like to build a strat around my hero's special ability.
