Had an interesting bug on PC where Geralt wouldn't stop jumping. It continued even after loading the most recent save. Had to close out entirely.

I am downloading a 499MB update file for PS4.Anyone know what it does?I havent played the game for 4 days so i dont know if this is new

So... that played time on PS4 can't be accurate. I believe Suspend / Resume fucks with it.

i have played plenty of Witcher 3 this week (being on legitimate(!) sick leave since monday) ... but not THAT much.

3 days, maybe. 117 hours, no way!

Yea it sucks that because of suspend/resume I can mess up your hours. Also you don't need to lie to us my friend, "legitimate sick leave"

I hope all is well with you

Lol, this reminds me of skiing in Tribes.

For the Death March difficulty and its heavy xp reductions, what level should I expect to get to? I'm trying to plan out how to slot abilities and mutagens, and I'm wondering if I'll actually even get to 30+. What's the trajectory like in terms of how many ability points/slots I should expect to be able to work with.

Gwent is so goddamn addicting. I want a witcher 3 gwent app on my phone where I can somehow import my in-game deck.

If i pick up messages from a contract board, wil they appear om my map as question marks straight away, or do i have to read them first. At what point can i delete them?

Hello, i have two questions today :

- I'm playing in Death March, I think it's more difficult to earn money, so I'm selling all junk items or bad swords/armors. Therefore i don't dismantle any items. Is my way of thinking good in Death March ?

- Have you a list of all the side quests of the game ?

Thanks :)

About an ending
Is it possible to get Triss to go to Kaer Morhen, but you don't romance her? Cause it seems you only have the option to romance with her or make her leave in "Now or Never"

Go into your inventory and read them. Then you can delete. They'll go in your quest log if it's a contract, or if it's just a hint the ? will be on your map.

I fucking hate how this game doesn't tell you what quests are critical, I mean some things are spoilery to the quest path, but I have failed quests for doing this out of order or things even more innocent.

Early game I first got into velen at low level, I got a quest twice my level and was literally said along the lines of "See what the guy wants", I did and didn't accept anything yet, so I decided I'll come back later, failed the quest by going out of proximity.

Doing things out of order fucked me frequently on more than 8 quest now I've had to reload, and now because I haven't done things in a right order in Novigrad, I might miss out on a huge character choice/development on a side character and this time I can't reload because this is hours built up.

Nope. Don't want to be given these abilities piecemeal again. Much more satisfying to have skills and then a skill tree to explore.

Not a skill tree. Automatically learning as you progress the story. Kind of like a Witcher going through the whole training phase and getting stronger throughout the game.

Think Assassin's Creed 2...how Ezio went from a boy to a full blown assassin. That was one of the reason's why I enjoyed AC2 over the rest.

Everyone hyping up Gwent so much. What's so good about it?

I hate card games but will give it a try if it's fun

Mm. It's hard to say, you might not like it if you're not into card games and such.

I love CCG type stuff, so things like that with collectible cards really suck me in. I have to try and get them all.

A warning for everyone, there is a bug in the game, that you lose the ability to grab ledges.
I had to reload a couple of saves, thankfully I only lost 2 hours of progress and not the complete playthrough of the game.

So you should check every now and then if you can grab ledges or vault over fences.

I've noticed a lot of bugs the further in I've played. White Orchard was perfect, not a single hitch, but things have been progressively getting more noticeable the further in Velen I go. Nothing game breaking just minor blemishes.

The worst of the bunch has been multiple times now while riding Roach he'll get stuck on seams in the game work. Like where a bridge connects with the land or a large doorway outside. He simply can't get past it, there's just a huge invisible wall. As well several times when I've killed a Rotfiend it's exploding body would bug out and the blood texture will exploded out in those giant jagged spikes all over the screen and just stretch and wig out. Also a lot of double bodies as well in cutscenes and a whole lot of character and texture popin.

It's a card game that takes more consideration and strategy for each card played than any other card game I've played. It kinda reminds me of the Game of Thrones table top card game if anyone has played that. You build your deck in-game, they start you out with a starter deck for one of the four factions. Each deck requires 22 unit cards and then as many special cards as you want to add. You can buy cards in the world and then take weaker cards out of your deck, then hop into games with people.

Just wanna reiterate something on this page.

Something weird I noticed, your stat recap at the bottom right of your inventory screen doesn't seem to factor in swords into the bonuses beyond DPS. For example my sword has 20% sign intensity and is slotted for 8% more sign intensity. But equipping and removing the sword doesn't seem to move the number for sign intensity at all. Meanwhile equipping and removing my armor which has 15% sign intensity correctly moves the value by 15.

Also are runes of chernabog bugged? All the ones I find say +0 attack and slotting them changes nothing on the weapon value.

Weapon bonuses only show in the stats if you go into the menu with the weapon drawn.

It's the best way I can articulate the prose and structure of the narrative in the context of an open world video game where it's still up to you where to go and when. You literally have moments like: Our story begins with Geralt on a long journey to Novigrad in search of information. Passing through yet another improvised town ravaged by war, his attention was caught by a rather distraught individual, one offering coin in return ridding a monster. While the witcher saw a quick, opportune diversion to pad his pouch for the difficult road ahead, he could not predict the familiar face that would entwine with his hunt, and the journey the two would share to uncover the truth...

Honestly, it feels like I'm watching a good TV show. Each side quest and contract I take feels like a solid episode. Like a mixture of CSI, Game of Thrones, and True Detective. In some ways, it feels like the crime procedural game that LA Noire wasn't.

I also like the pacing of urgency and how it ties sidequests into the plot. Yes, Geralt is hunting Ciri and the Wild Hunt is hot on their tail, but he's also investigating leads, and in order to do that he needs to take contracts, search the lands for info, and create allies by helping them. You don't feel as if the world is in danger, just Geralt pursuing a personal quest and doing his job in the meantime.

In many ways, the game reminds me more of Rockstar's output than Bethesda's, but with genuinely enjoyable and interesting characters and tying to a larger plot that is clear from the beginning. It works, plain and simple.

Pancakes

hot, steaming, as melted butter slips into the cracks, drizzled with sticky sweet syrup OH GOD

Money is not at all hard to come by on Death March. I would avoid selling junk since you might need the materials later on for crafting. Unless it's something basic like hides.

The game is huge and full of sidequests with all sorts of different outcomes so unless you have a strategy guide it's gonna take some time for all the info to be posted online.

Yeah I don't really care about collecting stuff, just wondering if the mechanics are good

In regards to the Count Reuven Treasure mission, who else ended up having to
slaughter the entire witch hunters base and burn it because you decided to go down the route of insulting them.

I'm not to sure if it was for the better as those guys deserved what was coming to them at the same time I hope it has no negative effects later down the story.

Yeah, it was pretty badass moment.

I'm level 9, still in Valen and have found 3 lesser red Mutagens so far, One from a Wyvern and one from a Werewolf. Are they that rare?

Those arent as common such as Blue or Greens but the lesser and normal red seem to be the rarest. Combining three normal become a Greater which beats a Werewolf or another monsters. Sadly you cant combine the later versions.

Thanks, will try to find that. It's a bit akward that some smith's aren't showing up on the map sadly.

They don't show up until you actually encounter them. Or you might have the filter turned off on the map?

There's also a regular merchant in Novigrad that will sell you a +100 set of saddlebags for 920 gold. Just saw him earlier. And you can win saddle bags, new saddles, and blinders from winning horse races.

Im on death march as well and main quests level up quickly. I plan on doing every single side quest and contract to be safe. I dont want to tackle a main quest under leveled and get stuck.

Strategies maan. I can be down by 40 points with 3 cards left, and be confident in winning if I played it right. Especially with the Nilfgaardian peek.

I find the mechanics enjoyable, there's a enough strategy to keep me involved. That said, I think it would work a lot better if you could play against human opponents. The AI doesn't seem very varied, and and can be exploited pretty easily if you've an idea of what their deck contains.
