anyone else running into major AI bugs in the horse races? 3 times my opponents proceeded to block my path right when the start sign was given and afterwards ran the wrong direction.

one time an opponent just walked his horse in circles near the finish line, all race long.

Agreed.

I feel the world after the end is so empty, sad and depressive. I was literally running around screaming inside myself "Where are everyone, where are you folks".

It's very difficulty to continue playing. Just having CDPR place Triss, Yen, Ciri etc. in Kear Morhen or somewhere else in the world and maybe just have this interactions "Hi, how are you?" would make everything so much better,
There are so many places they could all be aswell....

I swear I checked all the places, lol.

* Triss's old house
* Triss's hideout
* Every room in Kaer Morhen
* Yennefer's inn room in Skellige
* Inn in Novigrad

But nah, Geralt's forever alone :(
Only Triss's old shirt and Yennefer's megascope left in the world to hug.

I have a troubling choice right now. SPOILERS (seriously don't look if you don't even know who Anna is):

I'm currently sitting here tossing up between letting this tree spirit live or die. I know that Anna is with the witches but I don't know in what way she is indebted to them. If I let this spirit live and "save" the children, will it fuck up my Baron questline? I've yet to find the daughter and have no other clues on the mother.

If you save the tree, the children will be saved (the crone eat them, the villagers basically sacrifice the children to the crones). And the spirit takes vengeance against the village. Ultimately Baron will commit suicide as Anna will die. Not sure what happens if you side with the crones when it comes to Hannah, I reset the game before getting that far.

Are there separate Witcher Gear quests to get upgrades for the gear? I found the first set of Griffin gear, but it's just under my level, I've got better gear for everything except the trousers.

Where does one start looking for the diagrams for upgrades?

Buy treasure maps from merchants. Then read them to get the quests.

So just same as how you get the initial gear quest.

Cheers pal.
I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I believe I have found at least one treasure map from a dungeon treasure chest. But most have been bought from merchants. Even the quartermaster at Bloody Baron's fortress sells one map.

When Gwent goes to the last round and you just sit there and watch as the AI plays right into your hands...

Just happen to me.

I wish there was a multiplayer mode of Gwent. I'm addicted, beat pretty much everyone I can at level 17. Looking forward to that tournament.

I'm definitely gonna read every one of those books.

Ohh it's the best thing ever. Letting them build up, they're 30+ points ahead of you. Not knowing that they've already lost.

Just as I think I'm wrapping things up in Novigrad and getting ready to go Skellige, all of a sudden in pursuing the main quest I end up with 3 more side quests involving major characters. 45 hours in, I am never leaving this place.

The game throws so much exp and you end up over levelled quickly so kind hard to notice if it bugged or not
I would almost welcome not getting a crap ton of EXP for a main quest mission at this point. I'm specifically avoiding doing anymore right now so I can clear up some of these sidequests while they are still roughly around my level.

You should make a mad dash for the boats, covering your eyes and ears and yelling lalalalalala very loud so not to get distracted any more.

Reminds me of walking into the first city in Baldur's Gate 2. Every god damn NPC had a quest for you.

How do I apply oils? I select the oil I want and then the sword I want but it doesn't seem to be doing anything?

It should make a clink noise, and you should see a water drop on the bottom left hand corner of the sword. It sounds like you're doing it right. If it doesn't work, save, and then restart them game.

Ha, I'm in the same boat.

It's annoying because you can't apply the oil during combat, sometimes you have no idea what or when you're about to fight coming straight out of dialogue. I have reloaded a few times to apply it before I go through a conversation tree.

I'm almost in the same exact spot as you. I just finished a a couple of the new sidequests though.

Thanks, looks like it was a glitch. Works now I loaded my previous save and did it again.

Should I sell all my hides in my inventory or just dismantle them? There's so much weight in my inventory

Depends how you play imo. If you loot a lot and basically take everything you find you most likely will have more than enough hide materials for crafting. Maybe dismantle those that give you those red square? parts, can't remember name of them. Those seem to be rather rare.

I love it! The amount of content in this game is amazing. It just gives me completionist anxiety.

Im not really enjoying this game.

Im upto that part where you need to kill the griffin.

Im playing with an xbox controller but the animations seem a bit shitty.

Like when you walk to run or just go straight to running.

And same with attacking and the griffin itself.

Game took a few hours to click with me, give it some more time and see how you feel. At least get to the second area.

just depends, i'd look at what they break down into and see how many you already have and go accordingly, but yeah definitely do something with them.
Yeah, dismantle them according to your current amount of crafting supplies. After a while I've gotten enough stuff from the 1-2 cheap armors I dismantle every time I go to sell my nearly overencumbering loot. Sell the hides to inns for the best price.

The first griffin fight imo is one of the low points of the game. The movement will never really get good, but for combat, griffin sticks out badly because it blocks your progress, is a bit difficult and is also iffy mechanically.

Sucks that some iffy animations bother you so much that it outweighs everything else and stops you from enjoying yourself. Not saying you're wrong to feel that way, I just feel bad for you.

I hate the movement too, I have literally yelled expletives at my screen because of it. You get used to it though, it's well worth sticking with it as it's an amazing game, but it has it's fair share of jank to contend with.
