goat quest is literally GOAT. Geralt's comments during the quest. The dialogue afterwards. The music during that dialogue. Perfection.

"You might have what it takes to become a real Plötze (what is the horse called in English?) - you don't talk too much"

"RUN YOU STUPID CHICKEN"
- Geralt of Riva, while protecting a Princess from a bear attack

AUGH wasted time making Exploding Arrows only to get done and find that you have to be lv 19 to use them.

Really? You have to be a certain level to use a type of arrow? Augh. So dumb. It is only. +2 from what I'm using already.

Hmm, so either Northern nations get to continue being dicks, or Nilfgaard wins... Shitty choice either way. Think I would have preferred Nilfgaard winning either way.

There's also a third one. Once you Kill Radovid, you find out Dijkstra wants to betray the deal he had with Nilfgaard. I believe he takes Radovid's place and would command the northern nations.

You get the option of letting him do this whick means he ends up killing off Roche and the rest of the people who helped kill Radovid or fighting Dijkstra's men and saving Roche and co. I assume if you let him kill them, that gives you the third ending with him becoming the new king.

Weird, the xp bug seems to only affect certain quests. I did not get any experience from the last two main quests but I just completed a contract and got it. Wonder what's causing this.

it only effects quests in which the recommended level is 6 levels below your current level according to some

The area around Kaer Morhen sure is relaxing. Kind of does feel like coming home. I'm now level 20 playing on normal, just absolutely wrecking enemies with 21 points in combat, 6 in signs, and one in survival (+500 vitality).

I really need new armor and don't know where to go for it. Everything I can craft is level 24 or greater, and I haven't gotten a good drop in a long time. I'm still wearing some busted ass old ugly armor I got way back around level 14. Frustrating. I may craft a set of lesser armor just so that it looks better.

Question as I'm still extremely early in to the game:

What do I sell/dismantle and to who? My equipment cache is filled with garbage I won't ever use but do I sell or dismantle or doesn't it matter for beginning gear? What about the other loot section where it seems it's just full of stuff you ought to sell or dismantle.

I'm confused as to what choice to make based on the specific item. I just have a lot of shite and as I'm still in White Orchard I guess it doesn't matter as I'll find superior shit later on?

One of my buddies has been studying this exp bug for a couple days now, and he has been able to recreate the circumstances that causes it. He showed me a video he recorded; if you accept a quest at night while it's raining, AND if your Geralt has a beard, the exp bug will occur until you shave again. Weird, I know.

If something doesn't say it's used in crafting, but rather just sold or dismantled, dismantle it. Hides can build up weight quickly.

Otherwise save everything else and dismantle it as needed (for specific craftables).

A blacksmith breaks things down. go into the crafting menu, hit B (or whatever) to back out, and choose dismantle.

Wow, that's very unfortunate. Sorry to hear that, man. Only adds to the frustration that XP given for quest is less generous on higher difficulties. I just can't believe that game also screws you over on giving significantly less XP if you tackle a quest that has a red skull over it (at least in my experience, not sure if others have experienced the same thing).
Thankfully it only hit me for a couple basic quests that were about to go grey anyway. Just going to wait it out in the mean time.

I could very well have the XP bug at some point, although I haven't really noticed it. I don't really pay attention to how many points the quest or what ever has given me, I just glance at my XP bar from time to time to see how close I am to the next level. Not once have I noticed it not moving. I just got to Skellige last night and I'm level 18.

Yeah, I just read it and while I haven't finished the game (still haven't left Novigrad after 50 hours lol), he really nails the one thing I can't get over: my disbelief at how consistently good every quest and bit of world building is. Every now and then, I remind myself this is a very large open world game that still manages to have more focus and intent than a lot of "closed" experiences. To put it simply, I'm very aware I'm going through something special and there's always this worry at the back of my mind that it will end or stop being so good.

I honestly feel dumb writing this as I'm usually wary of superlatives and hyperbole, but the game is just that great for me, even if there's a shitload of things that need fixing.

I'm at the point where before I start a main story quest, I question if I really want to do it in the first place. I don't want this game to end.

Sell armor and weapons to blacksmiths.

Alchemy ingredients and monster parts to alchemist and herbalist. NOTE: it's in your best interest to keep items in your inventory that apply to alchemy. You'll have the option to create potions and oils with those ingredients once you obtain their scrolls, and some of the ingredients are extremely hard to come by

Pelts are sold to tavern owners or merchants or you can pay to have them dismantled into crafting parts for equipment. You want to dismantle or sell them as soon as possible because they will quickly weigh down your inventory weight capacity.

Arrows, from my experience, are unsellable as I have to yet to find someone who will buy them off Geralt.

From my experience, skip the beers, fruit, and other food items. You'll obtain potions that can heal Geralt and they can be replenished through mediation.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Can you guys answer some witcher 2 related questions please that happen in witcher 3 (I didn't complete the 2nd):

I just done the quest with Letho, why is Geralt on good terms with him? He killed 2 kings didn't he? I know he was under the nilfgaard emperors orders but still...

I chose the path of Lorveth in the beginning, what's the state of Roche and Geralts terms? How did I end between them in the second game?

letho has no quarrel with you and even rescues triss from nilfgaard at the end of w2, not to mention he cared for yennefer after Geralt traded places with her in the wild hunt. It's up to you at the end of w2 to keep him alive or not. If he appears in w3, then you obviously hold no grudge.

Roche and Geralt are on good terms regardless of your decision in w2. Even choosing iorveth, Roche will come to your aid and help you out big time at the end of w2. He knows you just chose iorveth to get close to letho. you never become enemies with him.

With weapons/armor/hides, dismantle a few, sell the rest. Never sell anything to a general shopkeeper that has a purse icon on the minimap, but rather to people who only buy specific items, because they'll give you a much better price.

If you find seashells, then always dismantle them because you'll get the pearl inside and the value of your item just shot up a hundred-fold. Also dismantle any junk item that gives you an ingot, because that's often also an improvement on the value

Thankfully it only hit me for a couple basic quests that were about to go grey anyway. Just going to wait it out in the mean time.
It's a relief the game's so huge, ain't it? Can just explore and fight for dozens of hours without questing

It's amazing that I'm at the point where I'm massively overleveled for some stuff which means I can't get XP for some quests...but I'm doing them anyways. Because the quests themselves are such rewarding adventures so who needs XP?

I did the same thing. I had manually saved before making them though so no loss because I just loaded up the prior save but it was annoying to see it was a waste of time.

I'm going back and doing old quests I never finished as well. I have a feeling I'm closing in on the third act and don't want it to end.

What is it with this game and bugs? I know I have a huge exclamation mark next to all my quests, completed and active, as if they were brand new. This is affecting all my saved games too, no matter how old they are. Wut.

That reference to Telltale's style cuts right to what's remarkable about this game. When I played the Baron quest and realized after checking other people's spoilers here that there are tons of minor and major outcomes based on your decisions I was floored. In the context of the game they don't even bat an eye. CDPR completely avoids patting themselves on the back. They just give you YOUR story and leave it at that.

Amazing.

This is what I love. They've basically one-upped Telltale who still feel very binary when it comes to choice outcomes. CDPR on the other hand have so many nuances in these questlines, both major and sideline. Absolutely amazing.

Also, again I'm probably hearing things but I swear the voice of
Anabelle, the ghost in the mage's tower
is Vivia Bianca from Spartacus. Almost to a T.

Greatest quest yet. You want me to do what as a Witcher?

Working on R2+face button for fast casting. It woks almost flawlessly.
Igni, yrden and aard work perfectly. But quen and axii cast the sign i had previously selected before switching to the right one.

DS4Windows by the way.

That bloody XP bug, always thought it was weird that people here were saying that most XP came from story quests when I was barely getting any.

I'll continue with the game for now and see where it takes me, if it gets to a point where I can't continue with the story because I'm underleveled or whatever I'll call it a day and give up on the game. Shame really because I'm loving the game and how a bug like this wasn't found before release is astonishing.

Wait, are you saying Telltale games have different choice outcomes?

Time and time again I just had to stop and – in a good way – remind myself of just how good what I was playing actually is. Wild Hunt is so grounded, so good at world building, so subtle in its cleverness that after a while, it simply is.

100% - I'm gonna take a break if I can let myself now I've finished the main story. I'm so absorbed by the world and everything progresses so smoothly that I forget how good it is, it's so weird to explain.

Wonder how Dandelion told this heroic tale of Geralt. Then again, he did save a lost princess from a raging beast that could've killed her with on hit.

Baron quest spoilers
what happens if I don't save the botchling? I've been trying to save it but I came not prepared for the fights ahead

Apparently I missed a gigantic questline in Skellige. Good thing I came back to see if there was a blacksmith I missed. This game man, it just keeps giving. Insane how much content there is. Makes me wonder what so many other larger studios do with all of their time and money to create products half as good with a quarter of the content.

Super annoyed by this EXP bug. I tried reloading old saves but it's hard to tell when it first started and I don't really feel like replaying a bunch of main quests I've already completed. I was really looking forward to playing a lot this weekend too.

talk with people about the witcher!

isle of mist quest spoilers, don't read unless finished with it
man that scene with Geralt finding Ciri and thinking she is dead was really well done, from his hesitation of going into the hut, to that shot of him just looking at her from a distance after opening the door

The small amount of NPC models becomes painfully apparent during certain points in the game, particularly in Novigrad.

But then again, I can forgive it because HOLY SHIT Novigrad. Every RPG should have cities this large. And no loading screens?

Loot is all kinds of fucked up. Can't tell if its the scaling or not.

I get better items from level 4 treasure hunts then I do from level 18 treasure hunts.

I actually don't understand.

Man....my mind says Triss but my heart says Yenn, and I chose Triss. I 'm start regretting the choice = ~ 34h right now and I don't want to reload an old save game. What a pain!!!! I should have done it 10 hours ago.
