The RPS Wot I Think of Witcher 3 is really great. The writer calls it a masterpiece and I agree. The most interesting part is how they talk about how Witcher 3 pulls off everything without even batting an eyelash. It's downright impressive how confident CDPR were - trusting that players would understand their game, rather than shoving everything down our throats, and it seems to have paid off massively.

Just another in a long line of Witcher 3 feel good moments.
wait wtf...i'm only done with 20% of the game? lol i feel like i've been playing this game for a long ass time despite it only being a week.

The Witcher 3 is a lifestyle.

Holy shit, you would be me hero if you could get that to happen. I think a fair amount of people are looking for it, based on some Nexus mod comments and whatnot

I have no clue what DS4Windows is though. Is that a PC control mapping thing for a PS controller?

I'm using an Xbox controller on my PC. I wonder if its adaptable to that?

DS4Windows is a software to use dual shock 4 on pc. I'm sure the same can be done with the xbox controller. I just don't know any programs.

Well, it's working. I even mapped journal, bestiary, alchemy to the touchpad using swipes.

Like i said it's not perfect. Maybe someone will come up with a better solution.

My configuration:

R2+square to igni.
R2+triangle to aard
R2+cross to yrden
R2+circle to quen
R2+L2 to axii

If i cast igni and then cast quen with R2+circle it casts igni again and switches to quen.
That's the issue i'm running into. Only happens with quen and axii.

Did I miss some big sidequest with the
King of Beggars
? Outside of his introduction and his cameo during the
song
, he didn't show up at all.

Link? I'd like to read it.

What exactly do you expect them to do?

Honestly I don't expect much anything, but generally I agree with the points of the OP in above thread and if they fixed even a part of that, it would be a nice gesture from CDPR.

I'd be happier if they just added even a few more conversations around the story, a bit of warm one-on-one time between her and Geralt.
Like when
she arrives in Kaer Morhen, she says she's going to miss you when you part at the lighthouse and looks so sad, but doesn't really seem like that. They barely say anything to each other when they meet after a long time.

What does Yrden alt. do?

Throws down a trap with a rather large radius. When an enemy moves inside, they get zapped for damage and sometimes they are staggered.

Also, it destroys any enemy projectiles that enter the radius. So you can stand in there and archers can't do shit.

It also zaaps enemies that phase in and out, which makes it great against wraiths. Very useful against bosses too because you can throw down the trap and then focus on dodging enemy attacks while Yrden does the dmg. Sometimes the zaap will stagger, and when that happens, you can get a few extra sword hits in.

Glad I'm not the only one and and there's a large thread about it @ CDPR's forum.
Hopefully they're acknowledging the issue and willing to work on it afterwards.

found the thread and read through it. I thought I was disappointed lol. The thread seems to be fans basically wanting DLC content involving her but I doubt that will happen unless they still have time to fiddle with the second expansion. And even then I doubt CDPR expected it.

I can't disagree with any of the comments in the thread. It really was disappointing.

The attention to detail in this game is staggering. Ever wondered how
Roche and his guerillas
ended up in the Novigrad area?

wild hunt spoilers, as in the wild hunt
this is probably the first time I've run across why the fuck the hunt is doing what it is doing beyond "oh they want ciri", I knew they were elves from another world but not much beyond that

finding out that their world is dying and that they need ciri so that they can transport a whole army and more over to another world actually makes sense and is pretty decent as far as motivations go, plus I kinda get them, I mean if earth was dying I'd sure as hell vote to do anything, whatever it takes to preserve our people and civilization

although i still wonder why silver swords on them, I get it on the hounds, but the elves seem to be just that elves, I guess it's just a gameplay thing

I feel like I do a lot of side quests and get barely an XP. I'm early in the main quest, looking for
the Witch
. I did a ton of side content and barely scraped up a level (from 4 -> 5). I do one or two story missions and gain a level and a half. Why do these?

This game is making me want to upgrade my rig. I have an i7-4790s and a GTX 970. Brand new 27" monitor. Seriously considering buying a GTX 980. And I don't typically chase graphics. I am happy with mid-tier builds really, had a GTX 660 and i7-2600 for several years prior to this build. I am even considering a 1440p monitor. Do I really want to spend around a thousand dollars? I am thinking yes. I could sell this GTX 970 for profit - only cost me around $150 after my Capital One 1.5% cash back credits. could sell it for $200 easy, or maybe gift it to a friend. Hmm..

I spent around that much for my ASUS PB278 and 780ti about a year ago, no regrets at all, playing games at 1440p is glorious and you will love it.

If you're doing them for XP, you're doing them for the wrong reason.

Their value is in their stories and worldbuilding (and the occasional alchemy parts you pick up along the way) and the ways they affect the world.

Is there any website that list all the quests XP reward ? I can add my xp manually but I wanna make sure I get the right amount, I don't feel like cheating, I just don't wanna stop playing until they patch the problem monday.

Doesn't seem all that useful to me? I feel like its range is not great, and the time to cast means I'm pretty much a sitting duck. I dropped that upgrade because I felt like I was getting hit everytime I use it. The default cast is great though. Nice crowd control and very useful vs humans.
I can usually get 3 enemies in range with the blast and they are all screaming and on fire so they don't attack lol. That hasn't been an issue for me.

Having seen the way CD project have weaved all those mythologies together in a wonderful world, I am yearning for a Dark Tower game by them, it's simply a perfect combination which is not gonna happen for far too long.

After seeing what they're capable of I'd gladly Kickstart any idea they have for $100 or more at this point.

So, I've worked out one mod that would make the game the best thing ever. It's the one thing that's been bugging me constantly over my 60 hours of playtime.

I need a mod that always shows the closest fast travel point/question mark on the corner of the map - just as they do with waypoints and quests. Man, that would save me a lot of pointless to and from the map screen.

Has anyone figured out a way to turn off the loot scaling? Cause it's fucking awful.

I just did two or three side-quests only to be rewarded with some crappy loot and it's actually diminishing my enjoyment of the side-quests.

That'd be useful. Maybe that's something CDPR could add to the game in a patch. I'd also like them to add a "Disable All HUD Elements" option to make taking screenshots a bit easier and faster.

I just hit Level 20 and wrapped up the chasing Ciri missions on the mainland. Now I'm in Skellige, but isn't the Level Cap 70?

How the heck am I supposed to hit that? Is the game really that long? Do more side quests appear at bounty boards eventually after I've cleaned them up initially?

Geez, this game loves to hide little things like this. On my way back to Novigrad from Oxenfurt to meet Triss and stumbled on this little "event". Not marked on the mini map and I don't remember who this guy is, probably a side-quest I stumbled upon without initiating it. I was actually trying to set him on fire myself at first, lol.

maybe mild spoilers for those nearing the end of Novigrad

You meet this guy when you first see Triss and you help her with her errands

I thought I had the EXP bug but now I'm not so sure.

The way this game handles experience rewards is probably its biggest fault. I have no idea if I should be getting experience for half of these quests or not!

Whoa that's awesome that event is just slipped in without a huge notice.

The easiest way to check it might be to do a story mission. I wasn't sure until I did that and confirmed that the mission gave me a chunk of XP.

Why even play the game at all?!

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Whelp, may have discovered another bug.

Seems 'Sign Intensity' bonuses are not being properly calculated from weapons. I notice the stat adjustment on my character sheet as I equip and unequip armor(like the Griffin armor), but weapons, such as the Griffin swords(which each carry the same +5% sign intensity boost), do not adjust the stat bonus at all.

Great game, though the ending I got was kinda anti-climactic and left some loose ends. Much better than ME3 and I hope bioware takes notes for ME4. Bravo CDPR.
