The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Ok so maybe someone can answer this for me because it has been bugging since I started this game.

The leveling system is kind of confusing to me in one aspect which is the 12 slot system. In the sign category you have for example you have Melt Armor Igni and then you have Flamestream Igni. If I put 3/5 points into melt armor and 5/5 into Flamestream, then place Flamestream into one of the slots am I getting the bonuses from Melt armor as well?
Or is me tapping R2 just 1/5 Melt Armor Igni and holding it is level 5/5 Flamestream?

I want to know this because it will help decide on what version of quen to stick with.

If you want the skill active, it MUST be slotted on the right, no exceptions. There are no passives or automatic bonuses.. only what's slotted will be used. If you want both Melt Armor and Flamestream, you'll need to slot them both.

Thanks. Guess its time to buy a respect potion.

Now that I think about it it's pretty incredible how different all 3 witcher games are, while yet finding that core element.

Anyone else run into EVERYONE when they're running around town, simply because the "agh" noises are fucking hilarious?
Had one guy in a bar last night that kept walking into me and then acting all surprised and upset about it. I kept trying to get around him, and he kept moving into my path and then "Oh!".

Does the game let you haul off and punch civilians?

Small question about Triss
Can you get her to go to Kaer Morhen without getting back together? As much as I like Triss, Yen is really growing on me and I'd like to know for another playthrough.

Yes. You can. It requires a certain dialogue choice at the end of her questline, but it can be done.

This game is so massive I have a hard time even turning it on. About to play for my second time since the game released and am pretty damn pumped. Can't wait to wreck some fools in GWENT, the only thing I've bought from stores so far are cards... haha.

Mind telling me which? I tend keep a seperate save at major points and had one there, looked at the options and
I love you is obvious, let's try again seems to be about the same, and "go, I'll miss you" makes her come back and still get busy with Geralt.

Holy shit at the entire Bloody Baron quest line (there are a lot of connected quests).....

I've played the first two games (Witcher 2 twice, one of my favorite games) but it seems like I've forgotten just how amazing the quest structure is.

The way to get it to happen seems to be to say "Stay with me," and then instead of confessing love, for the next option say "Go." I did that and she left and I haven't seen her since.

God damned XP bug. Ugh. Finished get Junior and I didn't get a single fucking point of XP. Damnit. I seriously gotta wait for them to patch this? Are there any ways around it or any exceptions? Will I still get XP from Side Quests?

Fucking have to do nearly an hours worth of gaming again because the stupid ass buggy game decides not to auto save after my last treasure mission completion, nope, but instead in a ship in the sea I somehow glitch fell in to and now cannot escape from. Which twat thought not auto saving after every kind of mission or objective completion was a good idea?

It's my favorite part of the Witcher series and it's done absolutely fantastic in this game as well. It just feels so natural despite being able to tackle the quests in a variety of different ways.

I also love that they have a ton of different dialogue for the variations in how you tackle a quest, such as acknowledging when you've already helped out another person the quest giver is asking you to help out. Small touches that really go a long way in fleshing out the quest structure.

how do I make side quests show up on the map? they dont seem to be popping up till I am standing right next to the quest giver

Did you Fast travel to a different zone? Sometimes things like Quests/Blacksmiths don't appear straight away when you Fast Travel from a different zone. Fast travel to a different part of the zone usually fixes it for me.

Yepppppppppppppppp, the auto save is very wonky. Just gotta quick save constantly. It sucks.

Because nothing would be funnier than the end game boss, this incredibly threatening and badass looking boss, takes out a tiny table and two chairs and his deck of cards so you can decide the fate of the world over a children's card game
"Do you know why I play Gwent, Geralt?"

1. Time killer
2. For practice
> 3. Because it's awesome
4. I have no idea

yeah, I thought before the game came out they were saying quests will always show on the map as exclamation marks....similar to dragon age inquisition

Only side quests gotten from the boards will show up on the map like that. The random ones you come across in the world only show up once you've found them. If you don't talk to the NPC at that point, however, they'll show up in your map until you do.

Once you find them once, the exclamation marks remain on your map. However, you need to seek them out first and find them for that to happen. It's not terribly difficult to find quests though, with the notice board and the question marks on the world map serving as a guide.

You've got to either go near the location of the side quest or pick up the notes from the notice board at the nearest town so you know where the locations are.

Anyone encountered a bug where you can no longer mount roach?

Just finished off the main quest. About 75 hours to complete and I still have a load of side quests and contracts and 150+ "?"'s left. What a remarkable achievement this game is.

oh ok, thanks...guess I misunderstood what they said

I am the poorest witcher in all of the land. My other frustration is I am constantly OVERBURDENED, but when I got to sell the crap I get a measly 6c. Is this game using the Rubles to USD conversion rate?

I'm sitting at 10k and I've just finished the Baron quest. I just sell everything I find though, so maybe that's why.

It's a bit at a time but for me, selling all the food and beer I find, combined with the useless weapons tends to bring me in quite a bit over the long haul.

I should've been called Geralt 'Money Bags' of Rivia.

Think I had 14000 at one point before I realized it isn't used for nearly enough things and spent it all on super expensive runes.

Dead

well not really...yet
So since my copy of the game came from Nvidia and activated through GOG Galaxy...

If I activated a Steam copy, would I be able to use the same game saves from the copy played through GOG activation?

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

You really need to sell each item to a specific vendor type to earn the most gold(armor to an armorer, herbs at an herbalist, etc...). Even then, you mostly only get a base return of 20% of the item value at best, with certain additional bonuses applied for the rarity level of the item. Low rarity gear will always sell for garbage, but relic equipment and such can get a decent amount. Regional bonuses even factor in. It's all somewhat complex and interesting, but really no big deal since money becomes FAR less a concern the deeper you play.

Is there way to create hotkey to toggle HUD on and off? Going through menu each time I want no HUD shots is little meh so I took this with HUD;

Dont know on PC, but if anyone on PS4 is wondering, what I do is press start to pause. There is a window of maybe just a second when all huds are removed but the pause menu hasnt shown up yet. At that very moment, I press share and get the screenshots without having to manually strip HUD one by one and turning it back on.

Its like... Press Start and then quickly Press Share.

Crossbow. I don't know how or why, but it works. It's a one-hit-KO, too!
