Aah damn, ran into my first broken quest. There is a contract east, north east of Novigrad that breaks if you visit the site before talking to the person who gives you the quest. Contract is called Apiarian Phantom

God damnit. I think I'm totally on Team Triss but I'm having doubts. I think Triss is awesome but right now it seems that I have to make the choice before I even get to really spend any time with Yennefer. I suppose I could rush over to Skellige and then come back to do Triss' side quest after but that seems odd.

triss is the best anyway :p

her only problem is that she was hotter in the witcher 2

God I just want to stab this fisherboat guy who keeps on beating me in Gwent. I am a Witcher. .

There is a guy in Skellige on one of the smaller islands that I've drawn with twice but he has a damn Nilfgaard deck so he keeps winning. One time I had him completely on the ropes. Buffed on my last turn with a horn to seal the deal and then literally his last card is scorch, knocking off 40 like that.

Nilfgaard deck seems easy better than anything else fully equipped.

I loved the side quest. It was a fitting conclusion to
the whole Bloody Baron saga. Marching through the swamp with the Baron's men had some hilarious and possibly offensive comments. Paraphrasing one if them:

- "What the bloody hell was that monster?!"
- "That was a Water Hag. That's what happens when you let your woman drink too much."

And seeing Tamara as a bad ass Witch Hunting warrior was cool too. The Baron is piece of shit. But he was seriously remorseful about his past actions toward Anna. Not sure he'll ever be able to heal the mental damage to her, but at least he'll spend the rest of his life trying to abd taking care of her
.

So it (end game of baron questline spoilers)
is possible to have a sort of happy ending. But what happens to the children from the Crones village ?

Curious if the Phillippa doll will end up being only a false lead or maybe it will resurface somewhere again. (Pls no one spoil it for me.

I'm not a big RPG guy, so there was a lot over my head. So restarting knowing what does what on crafting etc, also helped.

I did this too, I mean I knew I could go back because I had, but it was worth it for upping the difficulty and having a firmer grasp on some of the games mechanics and economy. So I had a lot more money and a better idea of the game when I got to Velen the second time around. You can blow through White Orchard really fast. I redid everything in one 5 hour night what I had spent the first time around taking some 14+ hours to do.

The Keira Metz dinner and scene after. So damn good. Though I will reload and refuse.

Haha, when I first did that

The conversation at the tower escalated VERY quickly, resulting in a battle to the death. LOL'd at the "I can't believe we fucked" dialogue option. I ended up reloading my save and convincing her not to go through with her plan. Yay, happy ending... so far.

How do you run away from an enemy? I'm stuck in a small room with an enemy that hugely out-levels me, but the only reason I can't escape is because Geralt won't face the fucking door.

The Brothers in Arms quest line is terrible. The quests have you running all these errands, but the tracker never updates to show you where to go. Just where the quest character is. Like right now, I have to
find a wolf mask for Triss]
but the quest tracker doesn't tell me where to get it. It just shows where she is.

Hahaha, that bolded spoiler.

Did you switch objectives? To that mission and then switch the objective inside that mission?

strange, sometimes i have the opposite problem...geralt faces THE OTHER WAY while an enemy mames him

Should show it, I know it showed for me.
It's at that elf's shop, the one that you meet through the Dandelion's side quest.

Haven't tried in combat yet, but judging from the description the alternate version of Yrden is very OP. Anyone tried?

The alternate versions of Igni and Queen are pretty cool too. Anybody using?

It's pretty nifty. Does about 250 damage for me per tick but the main thing is it interrupts enemies a lot. Regular Yrden plus that stacked is pretty sweet. Plus later on you can get the normal Yrden to do damage too.

What.

A Towerful of Mice quest spoilers:
I just gave that guy his girlfriends remains and he was killed by a Wraith. It seems I've set free whatever was cursing Fyke Isle. I'm not really happy about this conclusion but does it lead to another quest dealing with the Pesta? I have a save before I speak to her and I'm wondering about that conclusion and if it's worth reloading.

Hold X to run (or whatever the Xbox equivalent is, A I think)

Thanks, you're right. That's pretty stupid though, I ran to the door but couldn't fus-ro-dah it open because I didn't have full stamina from sprinting (for some reason this door won't open any other way). Last save wasn't too far away thankfully.

How do you get to the ? above Kaer Trolde? Been trying to Skyrim up the mountain from all angles for like 20 minutes. Got right next to the top and slid down, nearly ate my controller.

When I first went looking for her in Novigrad
I saw that she still has the Rose of Rememberance from 2 and I was like...:(

I was Team Shani so I had no probs jumping to Yennefer. Triss is #notmychristian

Never played the first game so I have no knowledge of Shani. Triss is the only person I have a history with so that's why it's been a tough choice for me!

If I've read all of my books and notes, is there any reason to keep them? All of the Bestiary information stays unlocked, etc.?

There's a good place to sell them in the game, is that right? My inventory is getting out of hand.

The only negative thing about Skillege is the amount of question marks in the ocean. Sailing isn't THAT fun and most of them are Smuggler's Caches.

I would consider redoing it, the alternative where you don't trust the ghost is a lot more interesting. Though it leads to a pretty tricky fight

Yes. It just shows me where she is but not
where to get the mask. It still just says Help Triss finish, but never really updates int he tracker.

Well, just go to the shop outside of town that sell clothes. It's in the East or Southeast after you exit Novigrad, it's near the river in an L formation with another house. It'll be there for you. She actually mentions it to you in the dialogue.

Burying cursed bones near a village. A fine witcher you'd make, sir.

I'm only a few hours in and I already know this is going to be the hardest choice of this game.

Thanks. Yeah I don't know why the quest tracker isn't updating for me.

edit: nevermind. It was my error.

Got it from the south. My skyrim glitch jump/rolling up mountains is unparalleled.

Annnnnd there's invisible walls around it. I hate you, game.

Any tips for fighting 5 enemies or more? I rarely die, but it just doesn't feel very Witcher like losing half my life to a bunch of Wolves/Neckers

Haha theres a drunk barber in East Novigrad near Oxenfrt Gate.

Results are funny.

yesh, got to it this morning..at first i thought the cut he did to me was some kind of secret cut..instead it's just a random one between the 5 already avaiable

wtf are the tiny red dots that show up on the map and are nothing? They are driving me crazy.
Red circles are enemies; red circles with X's through them are lootable dead enemies. Red arrows appearing above or below a symbol mean that it's above or below your current elevation. You're probably just seeing red arrows above herb symbols.

If I spent 16 hours in white orchard, I wonder how long I'll be adventuring in the other areas. This velen area looks massive, though I understand it includes another area.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.

I spent seven hours in White Orchard.
Currently 100+ hours total play time.
I'm not near finished.
You're doomed.

!

I spent 7-8 hours doing everything I could in White Orchard. How did you manage to pass that much time there?
