God damnit. I think I'm totally on Team Triss but I'm having doubts. I think Triss is awesome but right now it seems that I have to make the choice before I even get to really spend any time with Yennefer. I suppose I could rush over to Skellige and then come back to do Triss' side quest after but that seems odd.

Organization is a bit rough, but it has damn near everything you need to know. The bonus lore book included in the CE version is also really nice.
Not a sword...but got it from a quest in Novigrad called Cardinal Sins.

Thanks, yeah, that's gotta be it. Almost never fully turn off my ps4. Hope they fix that in a patch soon (Sony, not CDPR). Just completed the family matters quest, figure I'm about 15-20 hours in.

After we beat the boss she said help go find the lamp. I took off for town to repair. After I healed I met hey at her place. She handed me lamp and we finished off at the island. Back underground though, where I abandoned her is a door with magic writting. Had I not left her I could have gone in with her. Since my quest with her ended badly, I have no way to open the door now.

Yeah, that whole thing was slog for me as it was the first main quest I tackled. I felt so weak and was constantly meditating to recover swallows. Also didn't help that I didn't understand that you can't spam food items to heal health!
But it felt super rewarding once I had finished and killed
not only two golems and a gargoyle, but a damned Wild Hunt boss.

You only needed to go through there to get the lamp so you're good since you got it anyway, and that lamp is only needed for the tower of mice. Also I can't believe you ended up killing her, dayum. My Keira went off to the witcher castle.

I'm hoping Witcher 4 starts fresh. I feel like the fanbase is bigger than ever, and a new protagonist would be a great way to get everyone on the same boat when it comes to playing off these overarching choices and characters.

There is a way, I think.
What you have to do is to ask about it when the option comes up but you have to let Triss get some of her fingernails done in to get to that point. You find out it's location but I don't know if Djisktra will go get it later. It also forces a battle with Menge though as he ends up suspecting you of something fishy.
I actually really want to play through the story again when I'm done and do it quick to see how they changed the events up based on your decisions.

But there is a tower of power in there. I have the lamp lol I want the point from the tower of power but i can't get in! Since she's gone and I stopped following her the door never got opened. I can't do it. It's driving me bonkers seeing the tower on my map and not being able to get it.

Yeah, it was a quest event where Keira translates the writing and you have to figure out a small puzzle to open the door

That's what multiple playthroughs are for.
I wonder if they would ever consider adapting some of the book stories through DLC. I'd love to see The Last Wish told in game.

I did this without ever touching potions and didn't know they recovered (never meditated) on Hard. I ran out of food like 3/4 of the way through and had to do it without getting hit. It was so brutal... It wasn't until after the last fight I looked at the potions and realized how stupid I'd been up to that point.

LOL. I finally changed Geralt's hairstyle after fifteen levels, getting sick of his default hair looking so stupid and magically floating in cutscenes. I ended up picking the "Dante" like hair, and an hour later some armor that looks like Dante's trench (minus the sleeves) ended up dropping. So now I'm running around with a bearded Dante.

Don't you need to own a copy of the game to buy an expansion on GOG? (GOG seems down to me atm so I can't check)
In other news, framerate seems better on PS4 with patch 1.03 (swamps)

the part i quoted is from the dlc page on gog..it says that the boxed game is only cmpatible with dlcs bought on gog,not that you need a gog copy to use the dlc

I'm not a big RPG guy, so there was a lot over my head. So restarting knowing what does what on crafting etc, also helped.
I was Team Shani so I had no probs jumping to Yennefer. Triss is #notmychristian
