What.

A Towerful of Mice quest spoilers:
I just gave that guy his girlfriends remains and he was killed by a Wraith. It seems I've set free whatever was cursing Fyke Isle. I'm not really happy about this conclusion but does it lead to another quest dealing with the Pesta? I have a save before I speak to her and I'm wondering about that conclusion and if it's worth reloading.

Haha. Reading all the different quest outcomes is messing with me something fierce. I wanted to try that and suspected that would happen. I want to see it now ;(

you can also bury the bones or choose another dialog option so you have to bring graham to her

God damnit. I think I'm totally on Team Triss but I'm having doubts. I think Triss is awesome but right now it seems that I have to make the choice before I even get to really spend any time with Yennefer. I suppose I could rush over to Skellige and then come back to do Triss' side quest after but that seems odd.

Yeah, this is where I"m at! Might have to dealy Triss and do some Skellige stuff first just to get know Yen.

You only needed to go through there to get the lamp so you're good since you got it anyway, and that lamp is only needed for the tower of mice. Also I can't believe you ended up killing her, dayum. My Keira went off to the witcher castle.

I believe the lamp is useful in other places. It popped up in the Swamp Monster contract.

In the Witcher 2 there is a special flower:
that you can give to Triss as a sign of love or something, I can't remember exactly.
.

What I'm curious about is whether that choice has repercussions in the Witcher 3. I don't need to know what those might be, just whether they exist or not. I can't remember if I did it or not, so I'm curious if I'll get an in-game signal.

It ports over but can be missed I reckon.

Haven't done much beyond just meeting Triss but
my heart nearly broke when I found the rose withered. Just made me really sad.

I picked the last option:
and she just murders the shit out of him.

I did ask in the other thread but things are moving really quickly in there and it keeps getting lost due to the speed that everything moved. Only been able to find contrasting answers online and I'm not wanting to do the wrong thing, after I've read books and pieces of paper that I pick up, do I need to keep them for some reason or cam I just sell them off?

I seem to have inadvertently become a travelling library and almost 50% of my items are books and pieces of paper that I've already read. Would really appreciate help from anybody who knows whether there's any advantage in me carrying around a rainforest worth of books.

Thanks.

I think it was a fitting end for the boyfriend. Think about that poor woman's manner of death.

He had it coming.

Regarding the end of Keira's questline:

Is it easy to miss the "good" outcome or something? Surprised by the number of people who said that they had to kill her. To me the conversation options to get her to Kaer Morhen seemed pretty straight forward but I don't know if there are contingencies to get that dialogue that other people are missing.

If they are quest essential then they show up in the Quest section until no longer needed and then they get moved into the other tab (for example, Witcher School Scavenger hunts). You should be clear to drop and/or sell the others.

Wait what.

So I could, like, sell one of them?

The GOG code is required for updates and DLC, however it's possible to install and play just the version of the game that comes on the disc. Clarified it a bit.

awesome. can you make the grey one , solid black background though? thanks!

Here it is pure black. Harder to see the shadows and whathaveyou though.

Lol, I chose Triss and told Yen to back off. But ofcourse when we get ported back to Kaer Morhen and Triss walks up Yen suddenly starts kissing Geralt passionately... awkward.

It amazes me how well written the relationships between the characters are. Even those who aren't super familiar with the lore can immediately understand the Geralt's interactions with the core cast. The weird awkwardness with Triss, the love/hate with Yen, his friendship but also annoyance with Dandelion, mentor/student with Vesemir, and of course the father/daughter relationship with Ciri...it's all done so well in a way that feels real and natural. The exchanges between Yen and Geralt and Geralt and Ciri later in the game are fantastic and convey their chemistry realistically. And that's just Geralt's side of things. The relationship between Vesemir and Ciri is great too.

If you've been on board for all three games it's even better with all the callbacks.

this game seems build for atleast 2 playthroughs
one for Triss path and one for Yennefer
that being said im going Triss on my first playthrough

Yeah but
he had no clue she wasn't dead, he even checked her pulse/breath I think.
I'm not sure he had THAT coming.

Are you referring to the
Flower of Remembrance
?

If so, make sure you
fully explore Triss' flat in Novigrad and use your Witcher senses.

Yea,
I started to wonder if the game didn't recognize my choice when I told Yen I didn't love her anymore. The look that Triss gives... awkward indeed.

are there any negative repurcussions for finding and
looting a guarded treasure
before finding a letter or anything that's supposed to lead you there?

No advantage to carrying them after you read them as far as I can tell, unless it's a quest important one.

I just think people went right for requesting the documents back instead of prying for an explanation which sets you sort of down the hostility path. Like you, I had no trouble getting her to Kaer Morhen though by focusing dialogue on her well-being over the scrolls she held.

I guess I should have answered "this is suicide!" because I've reloaded twice and tried different choices to avoid killing her but there is at least two choices leading you to fight her. I didn't know you could even let her go ;(
Oh well, bitch had it coming. Finding her "love" letter to alexander before beginning the quest made me mad suspicious of her from the get go

It's weird to think that sometimes the writings you can find (or absolutely miss) make you change your point of view or feeling about a character.
I'm sure I wouldn't have killed some people if I didn't find them. Probably wouldn't have spared some others too !

Not a bug,
Yennefer seems to be canon to CDPR since the Trish path barely affects Geralt's and Yennefer's interaction, or the story events. I think they just took a huge shortcut with the romance stuff which disappointed me.

You know, at the very end of the game, and one thing that wasn't addressed and probably won't be is
the ending of "The Lady of the Lake."

Seriously, what the hell happened to Galahad? The book sets him and Ciri up for a happily-ever-after ending together, with Ciri finally finding a man who is genuinely devoted to her for reasons other than lust for power or sex, a man who gives her butterflies in her stomach, and the game just forgets he existed.

Instead, Ciri gets another dude who dies the moment she shows interest. Story of her life.

Well,
Yen is cannon for Geralt; CDPR is building off an established character here.

they dont force us to fuck her or anything do they?
to hell with the canon, im going Triss first playthrough

I don't know if my game's bugged or the merchant is a person in distress that I need to save, but I can't find where to buy my third Dragon Hunter card and it's really pissing me off.

No they don't but much of the later story focus has Geralt and Yen working together. If you do decide to not romance her they address it in a few scenes and that's the end of it.

Is there even a third?
Oh yeah, there is.

I've only seen it implied in random dialogue, but pretty major spoiler about Yennifer:

Do they ever show you or tell you what she actually looks like / used to look like?

Apparently I am not allowed to save anymore (XBO) or 8 is the max amount of saves, which I doubt. Ugh.

The Whispering Willock/Family matters spoilers (major)
Once again I am simply amazed by the presentation of choices in this game. I really had no idea what do when I confronted the spirit inside the tree. It seemed malicious, but at the same time the Crones didn't seem benevolent either way. I decided to destroy the spirit, as I couldn't trust it. But damn.. those orphans being fed, I had my suspicions about it, but I wish I could have done anything to prevent that fate. On the other hand, I read in one of my books that the spirit inside the tree is in fact the Crones' mother/creator and that she was most likely bound to that tree for good reason. On the other hand, I read up online on what the alternative outcome was for that quest, not so good at all and you don't even know what that spirit might do to the children that it had taken away.

Does anybody know if it's possible to run into Johnny after that quest line? I wanted to find his burrow, but it doesn't have any markers on it.

1) Update the map for things like Gwent players so the player doesn't have to remember everything they've done
2) Colour-code the icons properly. White and slightly off-white isn't enough
3) Don't have your transport stop moving randomly every 10 seconds
4) Don't show an unskippable cutscene every time the players loads a save
5) Allow the player to mark things as junk so it can all be sold with one button press
6) Show inactive quest markers on the minimap, so players can avoid intruding on them when exploring
7) Let me get rid of Diagrams I don't want, just to get it off the menu
8) Put as many tabs in the inventory as necessary, instead of just throwing every single usable item into one grid

Do you guys reckon any of that will be fixed?

Say what you like about Assassin's Creed and Far Cry3/4, but CDPR should have taken some cues from them imo for ease of use.

Actually...Witcher 2 only spoilers regarding the Rose of Remembrance:

If playing on the Iorveth path, when Triss gets turned into a small statue, Cynthia(Phillipa Eilhart's 'intern' and secretly traitor for Nilfgaard) takes her possessions, including the rose. The rose is used by Phillipa, once Cynthia is found out and her possessions confiscated, as part of Saskia's cure for being poisoned in that Act. The rose isn't needed for the cure, but Phillipa adds it in to the recipe since it has the power to allow a sorceress to mind control someone...in this case Saskia the dragon, which plays a huge role in the final act.

Bottom-line, Triss shouldn't have the rose, at least on Iorveth's path(can't recall how events play out on Roche). Even still, don't think giving it to her in W2 has any effect at all in W3 regarding chosen love interest if that is what you are getting at.

The load times are starting to piss me off on PS4. I really want to keep trying to beat
Jenny of the Woods
but I really, really do not have the patience to wait 60 seconds for it to load so I can try for about 60 seconds, only to die.

They are making it really hard for me to stick with a difficult section. Instead I just go do something else because I cannot stand to look at the fucking loading screen.

(Still one of my favorite games I've ever played)

Rebel Leader

THE POWER OF BUTTERSCOTCH BOTTOMS
There is a way, I think.

What you have to do is to ask about it when the option comes up but you have to let Triss get some of her fingernails done in to get to that point. You find out it's location but I don't know if Djisktra will go get it later. It also forces a battle with Menge though as he ends up suspecting you of something fishy.

I actually really want to play through the story again when I'm done and do it quick to see how they changed the events up based on your decisions.

Thanks

I never seen johnney agian but it could be possible

I woukld love to tell you what happens if you free the spirit but I wont and don't look it up either

This game has the best choice system

I did a bunch of quests tonight but the quest completed window has stopped popping up, has anyone else had this happen?

Bought the game as well. Looks beautiful on PC, very happy with the performance. Struggling with basic controls though, especially in combat. I don't feel in control of the fights, maybe this will change as I get used to it.

Where is this quest? I have not found it.

East of Novigrad near 2 vendors to the left of them. You will see a stairwell with a metal gate but the gate is open which goes underground. Follow down, forward and to the right. Use your senses to find a breakable wall on the right.

I've only seen it implied in random dialogue, but pretty major spoiler about Yennifer:

No, at least I didn't come across it in game. Geralt mentions (after "analizing" her shortly after they meet) what she was before her changes in the first book though.

What did you guys do with a certain blonde sorceress
kill Keira or let her bring the notes to Radovid? i loaded up the game and did that part again and noticed there was a third option to tell her to go to Kaer Mohren and take the notes from her. I just chose that option, didn't want to kill her.

At first learn to dodge rather than roll, and use signs.
