They are innovigrad
I'm absolutely loving the game so far but the main story (so far) is all to much "go to place Ciri was - do a favour for someone - find out what she did / where she went."
I'd like them to mix it up a bit.
Friend with benefits quest questions....
I usually don't care much about what if when you make a decision but what happens if you don't kill her?

Best difficulty to play this game ?
(finished both W1 and 2).

Where in Novigrad would I find them if they were alive? I just double checked and I definitely DID leave the spirit alive, yet Anna wasn't transformed by the witches. This is not how this quest is supposed to end and I want to know what happened to them :/
Ah, I think I know what happened. This is how Family Matters is supposed to play out (Spoilers of course). However I, sofreed the Tree Spirit BEFORE taking that questthe crones have no reason to be angry with Anna and didn't transform her. Tree Spirit still shows up and saves the kids though, difference being Anna actually human.
Best ending indeed?
Nah, I consider the baron hanging himself the best ending to that substory. It's a shame about his wife, but at least the kids got out alive which I think is more important.
Pretty cool, though. Actual decisions that aren't black and white.
The tree spirit is even more evil than the crones. Yeah, freeing it saves the kids, but the spirit then proceeds to kill dozens of people in the village, including children, and will probably go on to kill dozens or hundreds more.
congratulations, youkilled a bunch of kids
Those kids got eaten. Happy ending
Wait what? You freed the spirit, saved Anna, saved the Kids and the baron did not hang himself? I dont think this is possible.
You think this happened because you set the spirit free before you had the quest to do so? Would be interessting if so.
Really?I heard the spirit only went after those that tried to kill her

Lol, the alt Yrden is awesome. Shrieker contract fight/spoilers in Death March difficulty.
(late baron quest spoilers)I don't think that's accurate, the tree spirit goes after those that imprisoned it and her sacrificing their children to the crones, as such it destroys Downwarren. It's doubtful any children were killed in this attack, again these are the people giving the Crones their children.

You guys can keep saying they aren't quests, but the game clearly states that they are. In fact, I still have a treasure hunt stuck in my log book being incomplete since level 2 due to me clearing out the needed camp prior to getting tasked in doing so. They might not be "major side quests", but according to the developer, they are still quests.
Wasn't my point anyway though.
Anyone remember [what menial tasks]?
spoilers for lvl 6 quest
disapointed that if you. In fact, nothing changes except a couple of lines of dialogue.save the tree spirit, he doesnt come back to kill the crones with you
I love that thetho, howGran ended up being the Baron's wifeboth quests connected

Wow, makes me want to do a sign build for another play through. Liking the faster stamina regen and alternate cast modes.
You lucky bastard! Though it probably won't change anything if the next game allows save importing andAh, I think I know what happened. so yeah, im gonna have to know where to make that ursine armor. I had one of those robe/trenchcoat style things for a bit and geralt looked way too stylin to go back
I can actually make one of the advanced ones, but I dont have the first plans. Anyone knows where to get it?
Here's a guide for all three Witcher Gear sets: http://www.gosunoob.com/witcher-3/best-armor/

Doesn't make the choice of freeing it any worse then killing it.Spoilers regarding the Baron's quest: .
wait there are people NOT using a sign build? oh you unimaginative fools
flamethrower, mind control, jedi mind tricks... damn it people

How do I check if they're alive ? I think I got the good ending but I totally forgot what happened to them.
See the book linked above. Also, when you go back to Downwarren after freeing the spirit, the alderman says the Black Beauty caused people to go mad and murder their "neighbors and young 'uns".
Edit: Beaten
Maybe a whole village going nuts and every men and women tearing each apart would do then. As those villagers were obeying the sisters out of fear.
Oh yes, I saw those in a quest. Nice.I meant to say, edited my post. For the kids,Annathere's no solid confirmation, but apparently they join that small class in Novigrad.
1) How to check for xp bug?
I can just look at my level and see if my XP goes up by the amount awarded at the end of a misison right?
2) And how far am I if Im doing the Baron's quest?using the baby spirit to find the wife and daughter
This is still super early right? I want to finish up with the baron, but dont want to rush
3) By the way, do some quests lock if you dont do it on time? Or is it dependent on how you approach other quests?
4) And do people get mad at you like in Dragon age? I feel I had more choice in dragon age in this regard, as choices seem to have one option so far, with the rest of the options acting as background info for story. Do choices open up?
