So I'm about to take off Melt Armor for my Igni, I swear I don't see the effects of it most of the time. I rather just have the bleed effects from fast combat.

I wonder if it scales with intensity. I just finished a playthrough where I was mostly melee but I took Melt Armor and Delusion. I figured the Melt Armor would be huge with all of my physical damage. I didn't notice a damn thing with it. I dropped it.

I wonder if most enemies even have armor or some type of resistance. I swear I'll hit someone for 150, use igni with melt armor, and my next hit would still be 150. Just dropped it now. I'm doing fast combat with heavy signs. Picked up Aard AoE move instead and might get igni alt stream.

I think I'm almost at the end now. Some of the outcomes of your choices are pretty funny haha

Mystery Isles and beyond SPOILERS

Keira eventually found the cure for the disease after all and is now dating Lambert lol I take it that if you don't have her for the Battle of Kaer Mohren he dies?

The XP attribution is really weird in this game. Clearing these last few main quests I got 9 levels in 2 hours while clearing tons of sidequests and contracts give scrapes.

Does anyone use the Sword Heavy Attacks? In all the vids I've seen people seem to use the speedy light attacks. What are the bonuses for using Heavy Attacks and are they improved when using Heavy Armour?

Two questions:

1. Is there any reason to hold on to the starting swords? Or any Relic swords you find?

2. For the EXP glitch problem, when you have the problem, does the exp not show up at all on the screen, or does it show you that you got it, but just not actually attribute it to you?

I'm trying to confirm that the kids did indeed survive. LovelySalsa just said something about the kids joining a class, so I'll try to find the school from the lady in the "Find Dandelion" subquest again. Unfortunately I finished that before even starting "Family Matters", so I have no idea where it is lol

The game recycles character models quite a few times, for example one of the orphans looks exactly like the girl from the Ciri flashback. I didn't save the children and I recognized the same girl and the fat kid among the students. Unless something changes if you do save them I'd just assume the school children are not the orphans.

One would think the Melt Armor makes a massive difference in fights against Earth Elementals and Golems in particular

Guys I really want to buy this game because everyone keeps telling me how this is my type of a game and adventure but the problem is I hate jumping into a game without experiencing the previous games by myself, and there's just no way i'm playing the first two specially the firsr one ( keyboard and mouse just no ).

I hate to miss the related stories and characters... It's just a thing I hate too much to do.

So from scale of 1 to 10.... How mucu I'm going to miss story and characters wise If I just jumped into Wild Hunt? Even the tiniest details is bothering me.

P.S: I hate watching videos or read.

The one thing that is kinda disappointing in the story are the villains.

My God what is it with RPGs and bad villains, the last good ones were Saren/Sovereign.

Here is my convoluted plan to gain access to the council room and its terminal I had access all along as a specter BWAHAHAHA

What is wrong with them?

They're just barely there and even when they are they aren't that threatening, plus the game doesn't really establish them as strong characters
even though there are 3 named ones

I'm not talking about plans, I'm talking about presence, also let's not kid ourselves that the Wild Hunt is any more competent than those two.

They were fine. It continues the Witcher tradition of villains with understandable reasons but extreme methods.

Well you can't really expect to get the full experience from the third installment in a game series based on a book series without playing the first two games and/or reading the books. But despite that, CDProjekt did a really good job welcoming newcomers to the series. There are major players in the game you will care more about if you have read the books or played the games but they are great on their own nonetheless.

How they welcomes the newcomers like me when this is the final chapter of a trilogy?

They're only "villains" in the sense that they want something that you have and ruthlessly attempt to achieve their goal. I'm not sure what they could have done with them short of turning them into a pastiche by wantonly destroying and murdering their way across the game.

You're right they were fine, but this is the finale to the trilogy and they have been built up over three games. They should've been more memorable, it's a shame that you barely get to speak to them at all.

Just made it to Oxenfurt, it looks like a wonderful place.

So I had an interesting time getting in there.

I was doing the bloody Baron quest line and went there to find the daughter before going back to speak to the baron. So I didn't have a pass to get in. So I just jumped off the bridge and swam in. Then went to see the baron, who slipped straight to the "seen my daughter" dialogue, now I will never get a pass. Grr.

Also, the bloody baron quest...
holy crap, that was amazing/horrific!

Hoo boy

I'd have told you to watch or read a story summary of Witcher 1 and 2, but...yeah.
You miss two thirds of a RPG trilogy. Which has even more of a background in the form of a five book series, a couple of short stories, a stand-alone book and some more books.

I personally haven't played Witcher 1+2 either (or at least not very long) and not read any books. There's a lot of stuff I miss. Does it bother me? No, characters having a history together of which I know nothing is ok to me. So are references to events I don't know about. If even the tiniest details bother you though...ouch.

Still on on the baron quest as I speak, talking to the daughter. Before I found her I made my way into some random house that had blood stains everywhere ......and a secret underground dungeon of some shorts....wonder what that's about lol.....out of curiosity what level are you? I'm only at 5

Anyone who's done the Strange Beast quest...how do I get out of the cave? I'm stuck and can't jump out, Geralt won't grab the rocks he just jumps into them with his foot out. It's driving me insane.

I sort of agree. It's really my only major gripe with the story, most of the buildup for Eredin is found in the books and a bit in TW1.

That, and *Final Battle Spoilers!!*
his death is just a scapegoat for a faux-plot twist, totally underwhelming for Geralt to come out of a fight with the main antagonist of the series unwounded, then cut him down after some simple swordplay. The finishing cutscene should've been way more spectacular.

Especially after Imlerith's death was so incredible. That entire quest was one of the highlights of the whole story.

Over 30 hours in my second playthrough, that's 100 hours playtime in total now and I'm still gawking whenever there's a sequence, sunset or sunrise.
I'm already planning my third playthrough on the death march difficulty, since fine tuning the abilities suited to my place style should make all the difference.

Can I gift money to the developer somehow? Or is the only way to sponsor them to buy more copies of the game?

I had a question regarding a creature I want to encounter, but I haven't.

where is the creature with the horns and multiple human heads on his body? I don't know his name. I've seen him in pictures but I haven't seen him in the main quest. Is there a way to trigger the quest or find him somehow?

Ok, my game is bugged and Geralt can no longer climb. Brilliant. Is there a fix?

Reload your save? I've had that happen. Reload just until that point and make sure you're actually grabbing something you can grab. You can't grab during a battle or with enemies close.

Is there another route? Caves have other exits or they tarry on a bit further. Is it above or below, a path or a ladder, maybe reloading a save might fix it.

Will try and find some saves where it works, unfortunately not. Checked a walkthrough of the quest and I should be able to climb back out, the last contract I need for the trophy too :(

You should take a screenshot if you can. Maybe restart the game and console.

No bald cap? Lies!
Anyone encounter and get past the Ice Giant loading bug? I've tried
freeing Vigi, not freeing him, saying I will and not freeing him, saying I won't and freeing him. Always get stuck on a black screen with loading symbol after the initial cutscene.

All files verified. Really annoyed with this.

Yeah, Caranther had it even worse. He's a genetically engineered supermage, whelp guess I'll just kill him like any boss fight, not even any taunting or mention of Avall'ch, even though he created him.
The damn Viceroy has more screentime than the King and Caranther combined.
Also that scene with Erendir made no sense. I'm going to tell you that we've both been tricked just before you die, even though you came to the boat under the assumption that Ciri was there, so technically if I told you nothing you would die assuming that you lost her to the Wild hunt.

This is the ledge I'm trying to climb, he just jumps into it with his leg out. Even going back to my earliest autosave doesn't fix it, must have been playing with the bug for a while. Frustrating.
