err... Triss's
plan to go in as a prisioner, I sure escalated that quickly
o_O

had to
butcher the whole lot of them witch hunter pricks, sorry but noone is laying their hands on Triss, know what Im saying?

I agree.

The game is so fantastic when it's all working properly but I don't remember a game in recent memory that released buggier than this. It sort of annoys me that a lot of people are giving CD Project Red the benefit of the doubt 'cause they show 'fan appreciation' but Unity got torn apart in reviews for how buggy it was and this has rarely received anything lower than a 9.

I'll admit, it's one of my favourite RPGs of all time but there's some serious issues. Game-breaking bugs and all sorts.

I have had cutscenes with people going bald and gaining hair between transitions. People popping into the background of cutscenes a few times. It's just so many things, sometimes little, sometimes large, all over the place.

It's really hard to take a cutscene seriously about consequences when Roach's ass is blocking the characters face.

Is one of the notice boards in Novigrad supposed to not have any unmarked locations and quest/contract?

The most northern one in the city, it's yellow but all it has is general notices, had no contract/unmarked locations/quests pop up after reading all of them and it's my first time reading it. The other 2 at the bottom part of the city had contracts/quests.

Hmm, maybe i don't have the exp bug after all. Didn't get exp from the last two main quests in Novigrad but did get it from a side quest, the fist fighting one. Anyone knows if the bug affects all quests or just some? Just trying to figure out if i should stop playing and revert to an old save and await the patch.

Not seen a single bug yet. On PC. Level 11.

I know bugs exist, but they may not be as widespread as some of these threads make them seem.

Also many of them may have been introduced in post review patches.

Bah! It seems I'm stuck on the Reuven Vault quest after all, until CDP fixes it!

A warning to everyone. Once he leads you benath the Bathhouse to the vault, ACCEPT the quest. If you say you'll do it later you'll get stuck. He will be in his office and there is no way to continue the quest. Which is a catastrophe because it's a mandatory main quest without which you cannot continue! I've spent 10+ hours on other quest I'd had to redo if I load an old save!

fuck...first the
witch hunters
, now I butchered everyone in
whoresun's casino for Get Junior quest
. I spent 30 hours being all diplomatic and shit, and in the last 15minutes I aparently turned into the terminator.

oh well :p

This is the case with most of the boards in the villages around the city as well. The yellow mark just means you haven't checked it yet.

So, I was told the bookkeeper is next to the banker.. But that's not true in my game. If I meditate sometime they're will be an NPC that says merchant but isn't intractable

Pls help. Where do I unload these books

Neither Niilgard nor Redania will take Novigrad aliiiiive

Once and for all, hopefully someone can answer this:

Is it safe to sell your starting equipment? Are those swords needed for anything? Can you upgrade the armor after that first upgrade?

How about relic weapons, any real need to hang on to them if you already have something stronger?

So is this no XP for quests still a thing? Want to play but not if I'm not getting xp.
PS4.

It's still a thing. According to CDPR the total exp loss from the bug doesn't have a drastic effect on your ability to play the game. (You'll still be able to get to a level that allows you to beat the game.) I guess this is because only certain quests are affected.

However, if you are experiencing the bug and just can't stomach losing any exp, the patch is coming sometime next week to fix it.

Plot pet peeves, spoilers for the Novigrad main quest and Dandelion's Carnal Sins.
It bothers me that there is really no visible reaction to deaths of Menge and of the Hierarch (that's who that torturing prick was right ?) You'd think the death of very important authorities would make more waves. Or like any wave at all. Dandelion's rescue, with Dudu masquerading as Menge, who has been missing since giant fire in his headquarters, is farfetched as hell too.

Stumbled upon 3 quests in 15 minutes that weren't show as question marks on the map. Wanted to 100% this but I don't see how that's even possible without a guide

finally got mastercrafted bear armor, I know some people say too heavy for a witcher, but fuck that, Geralt looks awesome with it
plus the 2 bear swords also look great, especially the steel sword, kinda wonder what the blades of the other mastercrafted versions look like, sadly most screenshots have them in the scabbard

hint for devs: don't need to make some overdesigned things that look more like clubs for your fantasy rpg to have good looking swords

I'm not afraid of group fights against e.g. Drowners because they are particularly hard, but I hate them because me positioning myself in front of one and others behind it because it doesn't matter. Drowner leaps through drowner as drowner leaps through drowner...

I don't understand why enemies aren't properly collision mapped to each other and have no CD in their attacks. Fail to dodge even one or two leapers and you may end up in infinite stagger state until you are dead.

So lame.

Thanks for the info. Just saw everyone in here talking about quests and was confused. So it sounds like everyone is not effected by this.

I'm about to beat the game and I'm still looking for a Glyph of Infusion. Anyone know where one's at? or the diagram?

Also, I know there's a vendor that sells greater glyphs but I can't find him now. He was in Skellige. Anyone know where they're at?

That was just a random priest/bishop guy, and nobody knows that Menge was killed.

The real plot complaint in Cardinal Sins is that the coroner warns you that the killer (himself) is about to go after that woman at the countryside estate, then somehow beats Geralt over there and has enough time to torture and kill her before he arrives. He can't teleport, so this makes zero sense.

He is in a building, I believe a little north of the banker. You will know where it is, because there are books everywhere.

Just WOW at the conclusion The Ladies of the Wood quest. This game is truly dark and twisted.
Geralt was ultimately outsmarted and defeated, the crones got away with the kids and the continued servitude of Anna. I guess you can save the kids, but condemn the baron and anna to death. There's no way for Geralt to save everyone. I avoided battle with the tree and with the crones, I wonder what happens if you challenge the crones and I wonder if Geralt ever has an opportunity to make good on his promise of killing the crones. They are NASTY.

Hmm, two main quests in a row without any experience gained is making me paranoid. Think i'm gonna go and play Life is strange until there is a patch out fixing this on PS4.

Anybody got a good guide/video showing how the hell to play Gwent? The in game tutorial is useless or I'm completely stupid.

At the start where you lay all the cards out and try get the highest overall number, I can do that and win. but it's the other two rounds. i have no idea what is going on.

You need two wins, so DONT throw everything out in the first round. Just play resourceful and keep in mind that there is one, maybe two more rounds to play.

can you make some screen shots of the swords? ^^

yeah that was very weird, mastercrafter blacksmith quest spoilers:
"I'll make you the best witcher armor" "here is your witch hunter armor" I guess she got confused with the witcher = someone who hunts witches as I did when i first heard the term and some people in game ask what's the difference too ^^

Regarding Kiera, Triss, and Yennefer...

I sent Kiera to Kaer Morhen because I figured it would be the safest place for her to be, it wasn't until I also sent Triss to Kaer Morhen that I realised it might conflict with my goal of ultimately romancing Triss. Thing is, I'm definitely going to do the same thing with Yennefer.

Are there any real consequences to these decisions?

Oh shit, haven't mastercrafted the swords. That'll be tomorrow night's goal. I think I still need the manuscripts.

Should be a hotfix really if they know what it is...it needs to come out now.

Man there's a nasty bug on PC where the game won't quit properly, requiring use of the task manager and end process. Really hope they fix it 'cause it's happened to me a few times now.

Happens to me every single time. I don't consider it a nasty bug though- just slightly annoying. My biggest problem is that it hosed up my in game (and GOG Galaxy) playtimer in the early going when I didn't know it was happening so my play time is horribly inflated now.

I think the greatest thing about the game is the phenomenal directing during the majority of dialogue exchanges. They could have taken the easy way out, like certain other major rpgs, and just had a single camera for each character, but they put a ton of thought into camera positioning and movement.

I love how in so many scenes Geralt will actually take a chair. It's not always just standing around.

Jesus. You've probably mentioned this a thousand times, but do you have any custom configurations or is this the vanilla game?

Its a bullshot: 4K downsampling with -5 mipmap bias (which looks horrible in motion but insane for screenshots). Otherwise the only tweak I'm using are ones detailed in the Geforce guide, mainly increased foiliage and shadow rendering distance. No SweetFX injectors or anything.

Here's how the same scene looks with just the config rendering distance tweaks, no downsampling or aggressive mipmap bias.

That's how it looks as I play.
