I think the greatest thing about the game is the phenomenal directing during the majority of dialogue exchanges. They could have taken the easy way out, like certain other major rpgs, and just had a single camera for each character, but they put a ton of thought into camera positioning and movement.
oh god, this post reminded me of that card game in DA:I where after a joke it cuts to every character separately to show their reactions, i mean I liked the idea behind the scene, but the execution was awful

I have no idea how this got into release without anyone telling the devs that it looks like babies first cutscene

Finally mastercrafted a full set of feline.

And while I thank the blacksmith for crafting me a fancy new suit, it might be a wee bit insensitive to surprise me, a mutant in an era of persecution against all non-humans, a fucking witch hunter outfit.

At what level did you begin to craft them?

Dijkstra feels like
he's pulled right out of Guy Ritchie movie. I really like the character, mutual respect but no trust. I'm dying to know what would have happened if I wouldn't have used Axii on Menge's guard but I'll live with the choice.

If peeps are anything like me they'll spend the bulk of their game time in the first act, and the tail end of the game will speed by relatively much faster. Most quests seem geared towards the earlier part of the game anyway. I'm level 30 and aside from main quests there's not much in the way of side quests equal to my level, sans some contracts.

Is the Baron considered Act 1? How many acts are there?

Hm, I'm guessing future DLC/expansions will be for higher levels? Makes sense, right?

Also, do we know if the expansion will take us to new lands? I sort of want to explore a huge forest, there is one or two on the map that look super dense.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
At what level did you begin to craft them?

I've crafted each piece bit by bit alongside the required wearer level. I hit level 31 tonight and that's the cap for feline, so I crafted the whole lot straight away.

Cool thanks I'm only level 13 so still a long way off. Taking my time playing, I've only got the basic griffin armour so far.

Shaggy, bearded, regrettable tattoo Geralt is the only way to roll.

The game never specifies acts, so I'm going what others have stated from the guides. There's three acts in total. All three "Search for Ciri" objectives comprise Act 1,. Once they're marked as finished and you have a new main objective Act 2 has technically begun. Act 2 ends with a significant climax outlined early enough to make it obvious. The rest of the game is Act 3.

Simply due to quest structure Act 2 and 3 will probably speed by much faster for most people as they're more focused objectives. And Act 1 sending you between Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige simply lends itself towards open exploration. You're not locked off in Act 2 and 3 mind you (though some quests will lock off and a point in act 2 will make this clear), so you'll still do all your exploring and side questing (as I am now in the middle of act 3). But yeah, I think narratively Act 2 and 3 feel a bit more pressured to push on, if not literally for gameplay.

First expansion pack is set in Velen and Oxenfurt, so it uses the existing world to structure its quest arc. Second, bigger pack is set in Toussaint, which will be a new region.

Had a pretty hilarious glitch yesterday, accepted some reward from the Beggar King and all of sudden become disembodied lol.:

Also shot a Basilisk out of the sky, and it seemingly died as it hit water. Model went totally limp on the surface and everything, but it was still making noises lol.

I was so happy that they she gave me a Witch Hunter set actually. I mean, I hate those fucks, but I found a shitty white Witch Hunter chest earlier, and it just looks so fucking cool. Now I can't wait till I hit 27, did the quest at 18. Really want to get me the whole Enhanced Griffin set though, I like it.

Guys,

I keep hitting the item cap. How and where can I get a bigger bad to fit more items in it? 60kg is just not enough

Thanx

Is it bug or intended that I can't use lesser glyphs to craft greater glyps? I have to craft lesser ones from raw materials before I can make greater one. I have been hauling around 9x lesser X glyphs forever and they are no use :(

Also attack power runes are broken? Tooltip shows that they add 0 att power to sword.

Does Feline require alchemy elements? I know later bear armor required shit that could only be made with white gull.

Pretty sure yes. Required five or six components. Upgrade tiers for everything in the game get more complex with rarer goods.

Cool thanks I'm only level 13 so still a long way off. Taking my time playing, I've only got the basic griffin armour so far.

Each of the three Witcher sets (Feline = Light, Griffon = Medium, Ursine = Heavy) have four craft tiers (Standard -> Enhanced -> Superior -> Mastercraft). So it's a bit of fun going through the ranks as you go up level.

Yep, Witch Hunter outfit is so dope. Especially with long and loose hair.

Thinking about getting the game, is the monster combat as good as Dragon Dogma? Do you get a house in game?

Combat doesn't feel like Dragons Dogma, it feels like a polished version of The Witcher 2's combat. Good enough for me, because I enjoyed that game's combat, and the Witcher 3 improved it vastly. Still for people who really enjoy the Souls game or Dogma, this ain't that. It just isn't. So I'm not really sure if you'd like it lol. One area that I can say Dragon Dogma slays this game is in terms of animations though. That game has great animations in-general, especially for monsters.

Dragon's Dogma is leagues ahead out of most, if not every, action rpg out there in the combat department so I wouldn't use it as your comparison point. And no to your second question.

Man with Capcom announcing they wanna make more remakes and the Dragon's Dogma love on the internet, I really really do hope they bring the game to PC and PS4/XBO

No this is not my picture or circle. I just found a picture showing where in Novigrad Hierarch Square was, since it's a rather huge town.

I too have come across the bookstore and the owner is never there. It's to the right of the armor smith. I've tried mediating to visit the shop at different times of the day, but the damn guy never appears. I have an assload of books as well and this guy both sells and buy your books close to full price.

If you're playing the PS4 version, you can't drop the books because the loot bag will eventually disappear despite an Kotaku article stating otherwise.

That was just a random priest/bishop guy, and nobody knows that Menge was killed.

The real plot complaint in Cardinal Sins is that the coroner warns you that the killer (himself) is about to go after that woman at the countryside estate, then somehow beats Geralt over there and has enough time to torture and kill her before he arrives. He can't teleport, so this makes zero sense.

Main Novigrad quest and Carnal Sins spoilers
He transformed into a bat and flew there !

Everybody should have known Menge was missing and that given the fire, his death was a possibility. That no one questioned when he appeared out of nowhere to request moving of Dandelion is iffy.

I could swear the second guy was supposed to be more important than that. Will have to recheck, maybe I was wrong.

Merchant in Novigrad, in the King of Beggars den sells the biggest one I think.

It's not like DDs combat but it's still good IMO. You can't climb on top of monsters like in DD. However, TW3 is all about the monsters, there's a lot of different unique monsters, when you fight one for the first time (or find other info on it), you learn about its traits, what it is weak too, etc.

You can then craft oils to to enhance attacks against that particular monster and spells it is weak to. Many quests in the game have monsters at the core of them and it also has contracts that make you track down and kill a mysterious monster. It's got a little bit of Monster Hunter going on but all within a huge RPG + world. Monsters drop specific stuff from that type of monster and a lot of stuff that monsters drop is used in making alchemy-related items and other items. For example a Nekker heart is only dropped from Nekkers, and you need Nekker hearts in some things, etc. There are some rarer monsters that will drop unique stuff, every monster drops unique-related items used within the game world.

If you're a fan of RPGs at all you'll love TW3. It may not have the best combat in a RPG, but it works well and is fun IMO when you start progressing. DD has the best combat in an open world RPG ever made and there's nothing out there that can really match it. Still, TW3's combat is good. Not something that would stand out though. But not bad.

Thanks in advance :)

Goddamn, this game is just so cool. I'm just walking around Velen and come across a cabin in the woods. No POI marker or anything, but an enemy shows up inside. I walk in and there is a cannibal about to dig into a dead woman, with a man impaled on a sword just a few feet away. It's not a quest, or a mission that I can tell, but it's just a little piece of the fucked up world building.

Pretty sure this is the best open world RPG ever made, only New Vegas even comes close.

Just started up my second playthrough on Death March and even though my first playthrough was 70 hours I still feel like I missed so much.

Skellege made this game a 10.

Not that everything before was bad, it was fantastic... but Skellege, man, it's one of my favorite locations in videogame, ever -- It's fucking Rapture good, Los Santos good, Capitol Wasteland good.

It looks nice, but that armor is either medium or heavy, probably the latter. Light gear is where it's at. Won't ever put on anything else on my witcher.

After spending W1 & W2 with Geralt, anything with plates feels wrong.

Especially when I'm using whirl to dismember an entire pack of wolves.

Iirc, neither Yennefer nor Ciri was in Witcher 2 at all. I played through that game twice (never played the original) and I didn't know who they were prior to playing Witcher 3.

Ciri is name dropped in the first little animated flashback that Geralt receives in W2.

Hmm, maybe i don't have the exp bug after all. Didn't get exp from the last two main quests in Novigrad but did get it from a side quest, the fist fighting one. Anyone knows if the bug affects all quests or just some? Just trying to figure out if i should stop playing and revert to an old save and await the patch.

Just some. I haven't got much (if any) XP for the main quests in Novigrad but I still get sidequest and contaract XP as normal.

So I got a Statuette from Zoltan's side quest, but Triss is on the Now or Never quest. Am I fucked with regards to whatever that statue does?

Friendly warning- have you done "Redania's Most Wanted" yet? Because there is an objective that you can't completed if you do that Triss sidequest first.

Ugh I hate this. I'm about to do Redania's Most Wanted soon, but I literally just finished Now or Never.

If we're talking about friendly warnings for Now or Never, remember that this is Triss' personal quest. If you still haven't decided if you want to pursue Triss or Yennefer I HIGHLY recommend postponing this quest until you go to the next area and get to know Yen. There have been plenty of cases here of people doing this for Triss and then getting to know Yen and regretting already being serious with Triss.

Wasn't an issue for me and others though. Triss for life.

I'm not quite sure if it works exactly the same but
there is another person (aka Yen) you can give that crystal to.
So you're not consigned to the
Radovid option
if you did Triss sidequests first.
