Well, I just did the first Cerys quest on Skellige and got no XP. So I'm pretty sure that cements that I have the bug. Time to wander and explore I guess :/

Made it to Novigrad a few days ago. I have some quests available in Skellige too. Would you recommend hitting up Skellige right away or should I wait? Is it better to mix up quests and keep visiting multiple locations? I guess that's a preference thing.

Take on Novigrad, spending a good amount of time in the city will make the arrival in Skellige all the more special. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

So where do I go to get Geralt some ass? I heard brothels are in the game. Haven't come across them.

My only...conquest so far was
Keira
. I never found a chance for it with Triss, I assume it would have come if
you told her to stay but honestly it neither felt like something Geralt would say, nor like something Trish's would want looking at her arc, she is clearly doing her thing as saviour of the mage and she should do that.

Yeah. They're 0.01 each. So you would've lost 0.4 units of weight. :p Frankly I'm a lot happier with this than how it was in Witcher 2, where crafting mats rapidly accumulated to enormous weight. Granted, you can't just drop a bunch of iron ore to lighten your load like you could in the last game, but that's just because it doesn't significantly weigh you down in the first place.

No, each individual version of every item that's in your inventory definitely add to your weight. If one goat hide weighs 0.25 then two goat hide weigh 0.50.

Yeah, never mind. I though they were 0.1 each and not .01.

That moment you realise any blacksmith would craft the gryphon swords and you thought only that special elf gu from the lvl 28 quest would do it...

Feelsbadman :(

Since I'm 18 I'm gonna hunt the enhanced set tomorow with a guide and use that

Anybody know if this mission gives a lot of XP? I'm really into it but I don't want to continue if I'm missing out on hundreds of XP.

You only really need him and the master armorer to craft the highest tier stuff and those are all level 30+. Well passed the level of their quests.

Just because one quest doesn't give you XP doesn't mean all quest doesn't, it's completely random. Also you can use the console to add xp to your character that you would have gotten. It's what I've been doing, I monitor my XP right before I complete a quest, if I don't get XP I go on youtube and watch somebody else's LP and add the number of XP they got for the quest, I'm finding that only about 1/3 of the quests are actually missing XPs.

That's probably why CDP said it wouldn't kill your progression.

You shut your mouth with your truths man, I don't need to know I've wasted like 15 hours of not using them ;_;

For the first set of Griffin swords? 'cause I could only get the enhanced set crafted at the Journeyman level Blacksmith at Oxenfurt... Which actually took me a while to find. :p

[EDIT] - I'm aware of Hattori in Novigrad, but the quest to make his services available seemed much too steep for my level at the time; still haven't done it, in fact.

What is the level cap? I wonder if the expansions will increase the cap.

I don't know that they'll have to. I think people were saying that the actual level cap is somewhere around 60 or 70, whereas they weren't reaching nearly that level through normal play.

But I'm only going off of second hand info here.

Enhanced is the second set, the lvl 14 ones, I didn't even craft the lvl 7 ones ;_;

I like that expression Geralt makes when someone give him the most ridiculous task No. 73,394,393.

Can't add XP on a PS4.

But it makes fans of the books really dislike Triss. Triss from the books would immediately jump at the idea of Yennefer being back after seeing Geralt. The fact that she withheld information from Geralt up until the point of no return when he starter getting back his memory made me really dislike her.

How about Dandelion? And Zoltan? Vesemir and the other Witchers? NOBODY in Witcher 1 makes any effort to fill in Geralt on his past. It's not a character issue- it's a Witcher 1 plot issue (understandably). Nobody should be holding it against the characters at this point. Knowing now how the series would progress I'm sure CDPR would redo some things in Witcher 1 quite differently.

Well, not just any blacksmith. I think a lot of them are too low level for the Witcher gear. But the Blacksmith in Oxenfurt could and some in Novigrad.

What builds are people using for Death March? I've only really played with melee builds and while I really like them I'm not sure if I want to do another playthough with the same build.

This game is crazy good. It might just be my favorite game of all time at this point. I can't get tired of it and I can't believe how obsessed I've become with it.

I never paid much attention to the series. I first heard of it when Witcher 2 came out on PC and I just knew I didn't have the rig to play it at the time. Then it came out much later on 360 and I tried it... but it didn't grab me and I felt like the game was too "intimidating" with the sheer amount of things to do in it.

This one is impressing me so much. The world feels so real and alive and wonderful, the dialogue is incredibly good despite the sheer quantity of it, characters are fleshed out and incredibly likable for the most part, the level of polish throughout the game, despite some severe bugs, is unbelievable...

I could go on and on, but this game is outstanding. I didn't think it would be possible to beat Bloodborne or MGSV as my GOTY this year... but I jumped right into this after finishing Bloodborne and I just can't get enough of it. This is just wonderful. I'll support everything CDPR does from now on.

yeah, this game is so much of what i wanted. a top 10 of all time for me. the world is beautiful and it really gives off that fantasy vibe i've yearned for since reading a bunch of books and the LOTR movie.

i wonder what the expansions will be like. would be incredible if they gave us another region to explore.

I'm playing my second play through on Death March. Going signs this time. I went Ursine with Adren build and hit like a mac track on first play through... this time I wanna be more strategic and "witcher" like

Are there any quests in Oxenfurt itself? Its quite detailed.

Near the blacksmith in the town I found a house that had signs of bloodshed inside. In the basement area was a collapsed wall that seems to lead to sewers or something but it was locked. I found a Feline diagram down there too.

Also in the south of town I swore I passed two guards outside some compound that were dressed like harlequins or wearing face paint. Who are they?

first expansion will be in territory already present I believe. The second however will be a different area.

I honestly hope they'll release more DLC after the first two though. I don't want to leave this world yet.

The second expansion Blood and Wine will take place in the Nilfgaardian province of Toussaint. It's basically a medieval fantasy fairytale setting with a very sinister undertone.

Toussaint is a duchy within Nilfgaard famous for its wines, enabled by the volcanic soil. This mountainous place is ruled by Anna Henrietta. Toussaint has no army of its own, nor a police force, just a small number of knights-errant watching the borders and roads, though their attention is said to be keen. Tradition is a holy thing in Toussaint, so all holidays are keenly observed.

The first expansion Heart of Stone takes place in Oxenfurt.

I've read in this thread that Oxenfurt is so quest-light because it's the intended site for one of the two upcoming DLC campaigns. I don't know exactly what the deal is with the bloody mess around the Griffin diagram, but lots of the diagrams seem to have some signs of violence or drama or what have you around them to contextualize their presence. As to the men in masks, they're related to an upcoming main story quest. You'll find more about these men and the man they work for once you start doing stuff in Novigrad.

Trying to wrap things up in Velen/Novigrad now before I move on to Skellige. Kinda regret not taking a bigger interest in Gwent earlier; passed up on a number for f unique cards. Also pretty much forgot about some Witcher contracts that are at too low a level for me. :/

Well, definitely running through the game again.

Yeah, Ursine/Adren was my last build. Crits for 2500+ with oils and Thunderbolt. Fun stuff.

Have any of you guys found a quest involving
Cthulhu
yet? I've found the
Necronomicon
and a note about
sacrificing people to Cthulhu
, but I haven't stumbled upon a quest involving them yet. If there is one, how do I trigger it?

Now that I've visited all the notice boards and explored most of Velen, and with most of my quests being way above my level (or in Novigrad), it's finally time to go to Novigrad for the first time!

Late Act 2 spoiler: I just got to
Isle of Mists and found Ciri. I got so scared. So fucking scared. I thought I fucked up and wasn't quick enough somehow. I shed a tear, then she was alive again. Thank fuck.

What a freaking game.

Seems like a bad idea. Youtube recommendation will probably show the ending or something

Doesn't have to be W3. Some good recap videos or something will do >_>

The thirst is real

When people talk how well CDPR captures emotions that is the scene I instantly think about.
Geralt will not hesitate to walk in to any situation, no monster in the game gives him pause and he'll talk shit to some of the most powerful people in the world... but damned if he had trouble opening that door.

Finally beat it. Took 60 hours. Fun game with lots of ups and a few downs. Last fight was disappointing though. I was only level 34 and the last boss was barely doing any damage and I didn't even bother to craft the Witcher armor sets.

Will collect my thoughts a bit before discussing in the spoiler thread.

Game complete. Wow, what a fantastic experience. Time to finally give it a rest for awhile, but Death March is still calling my name.
