Does anyone know where i can buy some monster hair? Only thing keeping me from getting my superior ursine chest piece.

Try dismantling monster parts in your inventory, you may already have them.
For example, a "hag hair" won't count as monster hair, but you can dismantle it to one.

I wish this game would give an explanation of all these damn stats, it's frustrating me. How useful is armor piercing? If I have one sword with 30 damage + 30 armour piercing vs a sword with 40 damage, which should I use??

I just picked up a weapon that does 4 less damage but has +22 armor piercing and was wondering the same. I'd think in my case the new sword is the one to use (also has +25% critical hit damage bonus) but it'd be nice to know how this works for when its a closer call.

okay so I just finished the Bloody Baron main quest and i saw what.....many of you saw as well. *sniff*

Is this the hardest hitting/emotional quest in the game?

My girlfriend and I were in absolute awe at how it all ended.
I feel like I'm missing something here when I see people describe their feelings and that quest.
I mean I agree the overall theme (drunkard, beating wife, miscarried demon fetus, etc) is heavy
, but is there something big I'm missing?

honestly for the most part just keep it simple. If weapon is only a bit stronger but has less secondary effects, keep your old. Decently stronger? switch out.

Is there a way to see time played?

Sooort of. If you go into your inventory there'll be a shortcut to show various character stats, including play time. On PC it's the C key. On PS4 though it'll include the number of hours you've spent with the game on hibernate, though.

Damn that
Keira pic
. :(
I'm glad I made a right choice.

Have you finished the quest to the very end?
If so, yeah, seems like you got a
quite happy ending choice
.

Aaah. That did the trick. Thank you. I have like a billion monster parts that i could have dismantled into items I needed earlier. Sigh.

assuming you finished the quest:

You seem to be missing that it's
a very complex character where in any other game they'd make the wife beater a fucking monster of a character who deserves no redemption while in this game they made him this incredibly flawed human character who even though he's a horrible human being for the things he did, he's also this man who gave Ciri and this other girl a home and treated them super nicely. His wife isn't exactly a saint either by constantly cheating on him and telling a man who adored her that she didn't love him.

It was an incredibly complex family situation that really emphasizes the writing of CDPR when they want to get serious. Shit like this isn't seen in media often.

I totally regret killing her now :(..I don't remember there being an option to send her to Kaer Morhen...must have just missed it, blah.

The ending mostly. What ending did you have?

You probably got offended that
she used you. Everyone uses Geralt
deal with it ;_;

Yeah, I think so. I regret my decision. I don't remember the dialogue either...must have also thought I would have just beat her up instead of straight out kill her. I don't know :(...

What does that symbol in the middle of the photo mean?

Edit: I have no idea how beast oil became a consumable item. Just drank some and don't feel any different.

Except that it's bugged and resets. Mine was at 1 day 2 hours or something the other day, I checked yesterday and I had 1 hour >_>

Yeah I kind of felt mine jumped ahead shortly after making a new character, too. But I'm uncertain of my feelings. Suffice it to say I'm not absolutely confident. Thus, sooort of.

I actually didn't get the really emotionally heavy ending
baron hanging himself etc.
, but the rest of that quest is just incredibly well written. The scene with the baron
laying the fetus to rest might have been the most moving thing I've seen in a game in years.

Stuff to do today:

- get the second tier gryphon armor and swords
- dismantle every item in my "trash" tab for mats and to free up weight
- clear out more ?s, they are piling up again

So basically I won't do any progress today :p

I'm keeping track via steam. I had 3 or so hours of idling for cards (because of idle master) and messing with configuration when I actually started for realsies so since it says 43 hours atm so I'm counting it as 40 since I haven't idled since (well bathroom breaks and whatnot, nothing substantial)

Gonna have to admit, I knew coming in the decisions you make would be pretty impactful, but seeing their outcomes in this thread and in-game are making me so fucking emotional...I thought nothing could top Bloodborne, but this game has definitely surpassed it as my GOTY.

I just beat the game, no spoilers on my part.

I didn't do much of the sidequests after act 1, because there was simply no point. From a story telling standpoint, it seem very out of character for Geralt to do any sidequests at that point. I did enjoy the ones I did do, and did a few companion quests in the other acts because they made sense in the context. The characterization between Geralt and Ciri (and even Triss/Yen) are just phenomenal. I did pick Triss because Red Heads and she is quite a bit curvier, and genuinely likes Geralt which I never got from Yen.

Just amazing and blows Dragon Age:Inquisition out of the water.

And to think when I met him back in the first game I thought he was such a reasonable, level headed dude. My fault for confusing well mannered with well principled, I suppose.
Yep me too. I had high hope for him, I even killed Henselt for him so that he has the whole north for himself.

The fucking flaccid cock sucker.

Yeah I know, failed sarcasm on my part.
Early morning, sarcasm detector failed hard there.

Oh wow doing my second playthrough and (Spoilers before Bloody Baron)
you go to the Crossroads to ask about the baron when some Dicks comment about you having two swords. Whatever I don't start a fight with them as I usually don't Incase it has terrible consequences.
I stayed around alittle bit and saw they were looting harassing the villages and hell before they came I overheard one of the villages telling his daughter to run and hide in the forest before they came.
I decided fuck it I'm going to murder them, took them out and went out to see the baron only to find out the villages ran in their houses and the guards started attacking me, I'm wondering wtf is going. Supposedly those bandits were Bloody Barons men and now I have to talk to a old man to find a secret passage way to even get in!

Holy fuck the different directions this game takes depending on your choices is crazy

just a heads up, if you have searched/watched ANYTHING witcher related on youtube (walkthroughs, bugs, cutscenes) be sure to clear your history. the recommended videos that show up on your main page could lead to some spoilers.

A bit bummed you cannot ride from the swamps/extreme south of Velen through to the mountains of Kaer Morgen. I do start to feel a bit of geographic fatigue as so much of Velen (after white orchard) feels the same note. As beautiful as that is.

Otherwise, pretty special experience so far, except for the loading times/framerate on ps4.

Here's hoping for some dragon riding DLC :p

Is Skellige different visually from Velen?

That
Keira
pic, holy shit. Radovid is utter filth.
This makes Dijkstra's argument all the more compelling.

Regarding the outcomes for this particular character, the game is a bit of an asshole as it's very easy to go from one to the other.
In your last conversation, if you tell her going to see Radovid is suicide, you can save her but if you tell her something like "Radovid won't welcome you with open arms", you end up fighting her.

Holy fuck, randomly exploring the woods when I start hearing this weird voice saying "turn back". I go to the shrine and use it, and then a fucking werewolf attacks me.
