The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

My god. So Novigrad is bigger than Velen or are they about the same? Looks like Im about to put it some serious work!

Velen is bigger than Novigrad, but Novigrad is of course more densely packed being a city. Skellige is similar in overall map dimensions to Velen, but it's more sparsely populated and has a lot of empty ocean. So actual content-wise Skellige is probably closer to Novigrad.

I put 70-ish hours into my first playthrough, and ended up sprinting through the last third of the game not doing hardly any side quests. On my Death March (2nd) playthrough, I'm gonna try to do everything, so I expect at least 100 hours.

How far am i in the story. Story spoilers:
just removed the curse from Uma

You are entering the back third of the main story. I'd say if you just did story stuff, depending on difficulty, there are probably 15+ hours left. Lots of cool stuff still to happen. In fact, you may still have a good deal more depending on how many certain side quests have been completed.

So got two questions about where to find people: after te Pyres of Novigrad quest Triss mentions some place where to find her. Except I forgot where it was and now I can't find her. Been strolling through Novigrad capital for the past hour but nothing lol. Any help? Or is she unavailable for now?

You can find her but she doesn't have much to say. When you actually need to seek her out the game will give you the marker. But if you want to find her now look for the really tall crooked townhouse in the bits. She's in there.

Number two: heard about people finding (witcher 2 spoilers)
Letho
in a quest somewhere, where can I find this one?

Quest name is
Fall of the House of Reardon

I'm on Blood and Broken Bones difficulty. I thought the lessened exp was only for Death March? Obviously not sure, though.

I think reduced XP is for both B&BB and DM.

Does the XP bug affect all main quests or just a select few?

Did two of the main Novigrad quests (
Pyres of Novigrad
and
Find Junior
) and got 0 XP. Wondering if I should put the game on hold until CDPR fixes this. I am currently level 16 and have cleared all the Velen map and all sidequests within my level range. The Novigrad main quests are the only ones that are left for me right now

This is honestly the worst kind of bug that has occurred to me in an RPG

Those seem to be the most frequently bugged quests. I didn't get XP for finishing them (though I did get a coupe of hundred interstitial XP during the quests themselves for various activities) but then I got massive (like seriously too much) XP for the following two main story quests.

For me, personally, I hope CDPR does not retroactively patch XP. I'm over levelled as is (Level 18 finished up with Novigrad except for sidequests) and if they grant retroactive XP then it will probably put me up to 20 or so.

Guys, at Barons home there is an entrance to a cave with water. Can you go trough the wood blocking the way onder the water.

Is there anything more to the training the rich girl quest?
I trained her on the bridge when she ran off and nearly fought some peasants who I paid to go away. Then she said she was going to take their hands and I said you wonder why people hate Nilfgarrdians? Also what is up with the dead guy on the cliff behind their mansion?

Wondering the same.
She was flirting with Geralt,
so i thought something would come out of that.

I think there is a bug with merchants in v1.04. If they are selling an item with stats on it say, a relic sword, if you open their store each time it randomises the stats on it. Maybe it was just that one merchant that was doing it (saved an elf from a bandit camp). Every time I opened up his store the relic sword would randomise new stat types + values.

Fuck
The Weavess
.

There should be some way to rid the world of her without triggering the bad ending. The Crones are to me one of the most vile, perfectly detestable antagonists in almost any game ever.

Yeah, they're bad. But there is far worse imo.

Novigrad is part of the same map. The map is just so big that it has been broken into 2 seamless regions. But yeah it's ridiculously large. And I hear Skellige is pretty insane too.

Skellige is huge in its own right, but it's much more digestible due to it being a collection of islands rather than one huge mass of land. I enjoyed exploring it much more than the congested streets of Novigrad. I felt like I was being suffocated while exploring that city. Kudos to CD Project Red for making such an illustrious city, but I prefer the likes of forests, mountains, and small settlements.

So wait. Need an answer from those who completed.

Ciri is home, everyone is recruited and plans have been set. It says now to exit and proceed to the battle with the Wild Hunt.

I take it this battle isn't the ending and more stuff happens?

I am pretty sure Novigrad is the huge city in Velen towards the top right of the map.

This is not made clear well at ALL. When you go to the whole world map and choose Novigrad, it just takes you back to where you are in Velen. It seems like a bug until you realize it's in the same map. You should be showing Novigrad area if you select it.

I love how you encounter some major characters by chance in this game, which leads to interesting side quests. First it was
Letho
and now I've found
Lambert
. Pretty cool.

Anyone have this bug out and not clear? The lvl 15 drowners hanging out next door killed them all before i could, and now its stuck.

Which makes me wonder can you encounter (Witcher 2 character)
Roche
if you go their spot before the game has you go there?

Leshens are creepy motherfuckers.

Exploring some abandoned village, late at night, wind howling, stormy weather. I see a leshen in the distance. Nope.

Right? like holy shit.
I saw one and he was walking really slow, super creepy. Killed him in a few swipes, though.

Fuck, this game is so goddamn real I love it....

I failed the quest to
help the black market guy's
brother-in-law, and
he wound up dying
. Now he just tells me to fuck off and I have to get the pass some other way. This game is too good.

In most other games I would just reload upon failing but I am not gonna play it like that here, mainly out of respect for the amount of detail and depth they put into things like that. Save scumming just doesn't fit the gritty world of this game.

The Last Wish
If I decided to romance Triss, but I had the unicorn scene with Yen. Would I still get the threesome if I say I don't wanna be with Yen anymore at the end of this quest?

Also I missed the first Gwent quest in White Orchard. I was too busy doing everything else, and by the time i got around to wanting to do it, the group at the inn playing cards was gone. Now I'm in Velen and the group from White Orchard is gone and the quest is nowhere to be found. What should I do?

Those guys are assholes. I got it to half health and then it got black wolves on me which were more than 10 levels above me
.

Had Keira Metz's final quest arc spoiled. I was reading a discussion about the other endings to A Tower of Mice quest when someone mentioned Keira's final quest.

Pretty bummed as I would love to have discovered that myself.

I'm level 14 and I'm using just dinky armor that I've found. Haven't strayed very far from the main roads/quests... Can anyone point me in the right direction of some badass armor/weapons?

Also Gwent... Have not touched it at all (I'm in Novigrad now) but I really want to start playing it.. Getting cards and stuff. Is it too late for me or am I still able to collect / upgrade? (Albeit missing some cards from White Orchard and other places)

I went back and reloaded the save,
and instead I didn't choose the dialogue that tells him his brother died, and just told him that the ghouls are gone. He gave me the pass then. But there isn't anything in that post that I can remember worthwhile other than loot crates.

Silly question, i'm looking to pick this game up next week, Ive never played a Witcher game before, how deep are the RPG mechanics compared to let's say a Souls game ?

Depends how you play souls but overall higher if you play on harder mechanics. You have to constantly do micro management of items if you don't wanna get wrecked.

Im hoping it won't take too long before a Witcher 4 is being R&D. At least not until Cyperpunk is out.

It's going to be a long time since they won't have a framework of materials from the book to work with anymore. This is Gerelt last game and adventure.
Ciri will have to be the new MC, and roaming into a new land/space with her power.

I believe this is the end of the Witcher story though, right?

The end of Geralts Story, not the world of the Witcher. I wouldn't expect a new witcher game before Cyberpunk 2077 is out, even then it would be too soon. After three Witcher games, I think anyone would like to do something else for a change.

Really hope the DLC brings back characters from TW1 and TW2. A few from TW2 definitely feel weird not being here. I think the decision to make TW3 a stand-alone game for new players might have bit it in the ass in that respect.

Nonetheless, I am treating this one as if it's the last. Taking my sweet time going through the cinematic quests and the more interactive activities.

A little question about the romances. I hope someone who completed the game can answer it. So
I just read that having relationships with multiple people might mess it up in the long run. Didn't really think of that because it wasn't really the case with Witcher 2. So now I was wondering if sleeping with Keira affects the romance options for Triss or Yennefer? Or is it perhaps just those two that don't work together?

That doesn't matter.
Sleep with as many people as you want, but choose between Yen or Triss. You can only have one of those two.

Heh, just realized I completely missed Yen's
unicorn sex scene
because of the dialog choice I made. Oh well, I'm all about that #TeamTriss life anyways.

Triss and Yennefer are the main heroine.
You can sleep with everyone else without affecting the outcome of the last battle.
I remember reading that if you didn't pick Triss like Stay with me or I love you, you will not get the achievement for Full Crew or something.
